We're heading to OKW for a week's stay. We are driving from Phila. and will be staying at HH om 12/28. Can anyone suggest a good HH restaurant that is close to the resort? We are traveling with children, but they are used to eating out, so any suggestion would be helpful. Thank you!

There are a zillion and two restaurants on Hilton Head Island. When you check in, be sure to ask for the restaurant guide that has all the menus in it; that will help you make a decision.

What are the ages of the kids? Are you looking for something really casual or a little "nicer"? Any particular type of restaurant you want (or want to avoid)? That can help narrow down the choices.

There are several nice restaurants within an easy walk from the resort.

We enjoy Scott's Fishmarket and the Kingfisher (just over the bridge on the left and right). There is also a deli nearby, an Italian restaurant, a Mexican and the Harbourmaster. At the mall area (about 1/2 mile) is Giuseppi's a nice place for pizza and other Italian foods. These also offer a 10% discount for guests at the resort.

You'll get a list at check-in- there are over 300 restaurants on the island. Most are very family oriented. The HH Diner is nice along with the Old Oyster Factory, Alexander's, Cafe Europa, Old Fort Pub and many, many more!

Enjoy!

I would suggest The Old Oyster Factory since you are only going to be in HH for one night. It is a short drive from the resort, sits on the water and has good food. It is very tolerant of children and also has a view of the resort from its patio! We will be eating there at least once during our next trip.

Good luck with your planning.

While I like the restaurant very much, I'd be concerned that the wait might be a problem. This tims of year, it might not be, you may want to call them. Waits of more than an hour are common in the summer but I don't know for winter.

Dean:

I agree that the waiting time is a problem in summer, which is one of the reasons I did not get to go there this past July 4th. I can't imagine that the situation would be the same in late December.

try Aunt Chilada's for some awesome Tex-Mex! They also have good italian and America dishes! Reasonable prices too!

DCVDAD:

I finally was able to locate Aunt Chilada's this past July 4th as I was looking for an MD for my son. I plan to go there this trip and hope that it is as "awesome" as you describe!

Hey there Bucks Co neighbor!!! We will be driving for the first time to HH in May....can you let me know how the drive goes for you and where you stopped, etc. What are the ages of your children? DS will be 3 1/2 when we go, and he is used to eating out as well...Red Robin weekly for us LOL!!

Have a GREAT trip!! Our drive to HH determines any future road trips to WDW!!!

Hi Down Neck

It is really good. I usually go for the super size fajita combo platter! My DW has to roll me out of the place!
