I know nothing about Hilton Head.

Could anyone give me info on

  • are there any GV accessable vills
    • 2 bedroom accessable villas
      • would the resort be fine for someone in a wheelchair
  • how far a drive is it from SSR to HH

No, Hilton Head does not have any accessible GVs.

There are HCA lock-off 2BRs in the Live Oak Lodge, which is the only building with an elevator. These are typically reserved as Studios and 1BRs unless needed as an accessible villa. The resort can certainly be enjoyed by someone in a wheelchair as all public areas may be accessed via ramps. The Beach House also has elevator access.

Due to local building codes, none of the buildings have ground level access into the villas. The first floor of all villas is up a few steps and only the Lodge (Front desk area) has an elevator. All of the GVs (there are 5) are two stories and the main floor of the GVs is on the 2nd floor of those buildings.

It takes about 5 hours to drive from WDW.

thank you, trying to way up if the 5+ hour journey, especially with our son being in the wheelchair would be worth it.

like to try something different but such a long distance if we didnt. we didnt really enjoy VB but feel HH would have more to do/see with Charleston etc
