Truth be told, when you look at straight McCain v. Obama polling numbers, it does appear closer than it should be. It's wavered back and forth from dead even to an 8 point lead for Obama for the last few months. However, when you look at the state by state polls, you see that Obama carries all of the typically blue states and an overwhelming majority of the swing states. We all know from 2000, if we elected our Presidents based on popular vote, which is what those national polls basically are, President Gore would probably being residing in the WH right now. He won the popular vote. That's why regardless of all of the exited hyperventilating on the right about McCain recent movement in the national polls, in reality, he still lags behind Obama. It's easy to figure out, you just need to take a look at an electoral college map of the US. That being said, I still hope you guys give your local and state Democrats a push this November.
