Hillary Supporters unite part 2; no bashing please

I think that it may be safe to say that Hillary is not being considered for the VP spot. Apparently, yesterday, on one of the media talk shows (I’m not certain which one as I didn’t watch it) a question was put to Donna Brazile (none of this is a direct quote, as I don’t know the direct quote – just rephrasing what was asked): Since the Obama campaign is not considering Hillary for the VP slot will they be reconsidering since his polls are down as she can help him in the polls?

Again, not a direct quote but the question was prefaced with a statement implying that it is fact that Obama is not considering Hillary as his VP.

Apparently Donna’s response, after giving a non-verbal dismissive scoff to the question, went on to state that Obama is currently under polling as they have a strong vote with the college kids that is not being reflected in the current polls. So, she heavily implied that 1) Hillary’s pull with the polls is not needed. At all. 2) the reason that Obama keeps polling so low is because the college kids (that, according to the DNC, will help Obama win this election) are not being represented in the poll. <--I guess the last one she flat out stated, there was no implication. But there was implication that Hillary is not needed for Obama to win this thing.

I can't believe that they are counting on college kids (that haven't even't been polled, so they have no idea about the nunber, or even if they exist in enough quantity to make a difference) to pull a victory! That's insane!

Time and time again I've heard about how college kids will be a deciding factor, and time and time again they don't bother to vote.

What do they say about those who don't learn fron history?

I think the DNC is just trying to come up with excuses as to why they gave the nomination to Obama over Hillary who won the popular vote and who is the most likely to beat out McCain come November. Again, I'm surrounded by Republicans - I know plenty who aren't happy with McCain as their choice and would have held their nose and voted Hillary over him but none of them will ever vote for Obama. He's way to far to the left for them. And they are also smart enough to see what a corrupted fraud he is. Hillary would have gotten both Independent votes and many Republican votes on top of the Democratic votes if she were the nominee.

Obama's, apparently, just hopes that the college kids will pull through.

The fact of the matter is that if you need to add "I'm not racist, but" to your statement it pretty much means that you are. *BTW I wasn't implying that any of you are.* Anywho have fun voting for a man who thinks it's ok to refer to his wife as a "C".

There was a time I might have agreed with you. But the sad fact is that Obama's campaign and supporters have repeatedly attacked anyone who disagrees with them as being racist. The result is that anyone who dislikes Obama, expects to be called a racist. It's what's been happening all along. It doesn't matter what you say or how you explain your reasons for disliking him. It's always dismissed because you're racist.

The way Obama has run this campaign has set back race relations back years. We may never recover from the damage he's doing.

But most polling is done thru the internet or predetermined calls (people have signed up after filling out an exhaustive questionaire). In other words, cold calling people for Polling info, is rarely done anymore. If it is, it is just a smal part of the polling practice.

So that whole "college students dont have landlines" excuse is a bust these days.

Besides...I know many adults who no longer have landlines.

Well, look what I missed. It's about time this thread got resurrected. BTW, in case anyone is interested, I have now finally decided that I am not voting for Obama. In the past month I have less and less real notion of what he actually believes in. In fact, with his changing his mind on Iraq and oil, I am hard pressed to see the difference between him and McCain.

The only issue Barak and I are in agreement on is abortion and I am not sure how long that will last either. He has a remarkable talent for saying what he thinks the voters want to hear.

Well, if it makes a difference…. I've heard that he's changed his position on partial/full birth abortion (but I don't have a link to back me up on that) and the VA Gov. that is on the short list of his VP list (the one that was leaked out the other day to be on the very, very short list of his VP list) has the same stance on abortion as George W Bush (so I'll take that to be - the guy's anti-abortion). Does that help you any with Obama's abortion stance?

Since I'm anti-abortion, that's one issue I don't mind him to flip-flop on, but I know that it's an important issue to most Democrats. You're correct; he proves that he'll go whichever way that would benefit him the most. What makes people believe that he'll pick an issue and hold firm with that issue should he be elected?

I have repeatedly said that I think it’s entirely appropriate for states to restrict or even prohibit late-term abortions as long as there is a strict, well-defined exception for the health of the mother. I think it has to be a serious physical issue that arises in pregnancy, where there are real, significant problems to the mother carrying that child to term. Otherwise, as long as there is such a medical exception in place, I think we can prohibit late-term abortions.

Atlas has crunched the numbers and discovered a swath of illegal campaign donations to Barack Obama. Consider the strange case of Monir Edwan of Rafah, GA (that's Gaza, by the way, not Georgia). According to CampaignMoney, Monir has donated a total of $24,313 directly to Obama's campaign. Yes, it's two... two... two federal election violations in one!
