I think it's hard to say with Oregon. Portland metro area through Salem/Eugene is pretty liberal and will fall heavily towards Obama, much to my dismay. I don't know if it was mentioned or not but there was an Obama rally in Portland over the weekend with 75,000+ people. (including some of my family, who's names won't be mentioned, I'm just trying to forgive them ;) ) They're expecting a better than 50% turn out statewide. But outside of the metro areas it's a toss up.

Yes, the polls seem to be mixed too, but the latest poll (I think DISUNC quoted one earlier) have him winning by less than 5 points. Well, we will see.

Is LuvDuke male or female? Just curious, for some reason I thought male but it sounds like I'm wrong?

I'm pretty sure she is a chick. I thought it was a guy for a long time too.

65%-30% is the latest :thumbsup2 b That beats all of the advance polls I think.

Yeah, sorry... I wasn't trying to keep that person on our thread. :scared:

I've been going over to that board and posting now. I won't be apart of #'s talk or any bashing of Hillary or Obama on that thread. Just stating things generally. I always thought that LuvDuke was a man. Hmmm...maybe its a he/she like PAT on Saturday Night Live. Was that where it was from? The world may never know.

Hillary put a whooping on Obama in Kentucky! Way to go.

Obama can't win the general election without the support of states like PA, West Virginia & Kentucky.

Anyone notice that since Obama told the media to back off Michelle, They did. I haven't seen any more about Michelle on the news channels.

Good luck to you over there. I prefer not to bother. Besides, they always seem to be coming over here anyway. I doubt I am missing much by not opening that thread.

What does Obama expect? If he’s running for the top position in the country then his entire family is going to be under scrutiny. Do you remember how horrible the media was to Chelsea Clinton when she was growing up? They flat out called her ugly – and she was only a young teen at the time. I recall one magazine even hiring a sketch artist to come up with what she *might* look like in the future.

Obama is going to have to get used to his family being under public scrutiny if he want’s that prestigious position. Especially if Michelle keeps opening her mouth and giving speeches, ect.. If she gives her voice, she’s fair game. If she doesn't want the media's attention then she should keep her mouth shut and stay in the background like McCain's wife is attempting to do.

Are we quiet tonight or did I just kill the thread?

And Chelsea is lovely now, too. Media should be ashamed. Saying someone is beautiful is one thing, but to say they're ugly is a crime in my book. Especially the children of celebrities and politicians. They didn't choose the life they're leading and certainly don't deserve the scrutiny.

You know, they did the same thing to Amy Carter. She seems painfully shy. I've always wondered if she'd act more confident if the media had been kinder. Beauty is only skin deep, after all.

Obama will not need our votes if he wins the nomination. They are going to have a good old 1960's voters registration drive & get new voters to replace the HS:rotfl:

Yes, even John McCain made a joke about how ugly Chelsea was.

So? Based upon something that I just read... are they trying to blame Obama's huge loss as a racial issue? While I'm not naive to believe that racism doesn't exist in this country - because, sadly, there are still racist people out there- I'm beginning to feel that this is a cop-out excuse for the Obama campaign and supporters.

"We lost big time so it must be racism"

There are so many other reasons as to why people won't vote for Obama but everyone keeps trying to make it all about race. That's why I made the post that I made earlier - there are some who seem to think that the man can do no wrong. Therefore - I guess that racism is the only excuse that some of them can come up with since a person doesn't have control over there skin color and since Obama can 'do no wrong' it has to be a reason that he has no control over for why more people aren't voting for him.

Hillary lost by a huge percent in North Carolina. Should we cry racism in that primary? :confused3

Actually, it was John McCain and, I believe, Rush Limbaugh who called Chelsea Clinton ugly when she was 13. The 'media' rjust eported the story. Back to my own thread.

I guess because in states like KY and WV with low income and less educated people they go for the race, they don't know otherwise.
They see a black person and they just see the color of the skin and all the know about them. They feel more comfortable with a white person. They have no education, in some areas of course.
They said that in CNN last night.

Shame on them. Calling a kid ugly is just wrong, of course if you're 13 years old we can understand, kids can be mean and cruel, but an adult, is just sad and pathetic.

:scared1:

You know, I've never been to either KY or WV but I give people benifit of the doubt - racism is a serious allegation and I don't assume that people are racist until they do something to prove that they are racist. I would be livid if I lived in either one of those states and heard that on CNN. They're lumping that large % of people as uneducated and racist?

.. oh well, wait. They've decided that most of Hillary's supporters are uneducated and racist - haven't they? (Sorry, but I have a 4 yr degree and am not racist - I judge a person by character and not skin color!)

But still, back to my other point about North Carolina? If I were to make the same analogy with that state that's made above with KY and WV - it's going to be different isn't it? I'd be called a racist wouldn't I?
