Dude, you all are old! ;) I had a few tapes but mostly cd's growing up.

It's not that we are so old ..it's that you are so young...and someday you will be talking about CD's when the younger folks will say "What the heck were CD's :rotfl2:

I keep hearing the song "Don't stop thinking about tomorrow" by Fleetwood Mac. Remember? That one was used by Clinton and Gore.

I'll keep it in mind for a while.

I hate Fleetwood Mac.....even hated them when I saw them in concert :hippie: but got why they used it :thumbsup2

I was just lurking on the Conserv's thread and decided to bring this over here since I don't think everyone over here looks at their thread:

While there are a lot more pro-choice people over here than over there - this topic is just one more thing that Obama is currently lying about:

Bsnyder also posted this quote but I don't know where she obtained it from:

I spent a great deal of time on the phone with 3 reporters from major news organizations the last 2 days, and each one became frustrated with me because I wouldn't allow them to take me down rabbit trails when discussing Barack Obama's opposition to the IL Born Alive Infants Protection Act.

All 3 times I was the call they made after the call they made to the Obama campaign, Planned Parenthood or the ACLU, so I was handed their talking points to rebut.

The other side is trying to obfuscate Obama's opposition to Born Alive by saying: 1) it was part of a package of 3 bills with intolerable ramifications to abortion; and 2) although the verbiage of the federal and state bills was identical, the consequences to state law was not.

But I refused to deviate from these 2 points:

1. We now know Barack Obama as state senator voted against identical Born Alive Infants Protection Act legislation that was passed overwhelmingly on the federal level and accepted by even NARAL.

2. For 4 years Barack Obama has misrepresented his vote and must answer for that.

The exasperated New York Times reporter finally complained, "They're trying to broaden the discussion but you're trying to narrow it," as if I were the one to blame for that. I said of course they're trying to move eyes off the ball, and of course I'm trying to stay focused.

Anyway, it wasn't we who narrowed the discussion. It was Barack Obama himself, who has repeatedly stated he would have voted for Born Alive in IL had it been the same as the federal bill. He focused on one point - one bill - and so are we.

Oh, I remember....I remember Hillary with he hair almost to her shoulders hugging and jumping with Tipper...sigh, I remember the feeling of -dare I say the word- hope, hope for the future, joy at seeing them win. I wish I could feel that way now (sigh)

I’m only 29 but even I know who Helen Reddy is. When I was in my early teens we’d drive to Colorado every summer for vacation. My mom only had two cassette tapes in her car to listen to: Helen Reddy and Abba. I can sing ‘I am Woman’ in my sleep.

Does anyone remember these lyrics?

I'm Hillary hear me roar,
I have more power than Al Gore...

I wish I could remember the rest of it!

Fleetwood Mac is one of my all-time favorites. No accounting for tastes.... ;)

Just kidding. :flower3:

I was so excited!!! For a wonderful moment it felt like anything was possible. Since then... it's been kind of humdrum. I like Al Gore and Hillary but they fell short of course.

Oh well, I won't stop "thinking about tomorrow"! ;)

My mom was never a big Abba fan, I am, still. Listen to it all the time, LOVED Mamma Mia! I grew up listening to the Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Carol King... I'm 31 ;)

Thankfully we're not there yet! Though all three of my kids ask me to add songs to their MP3 players instead of buying a CD. :lmao:

I  Fleetwod Mac, my dad had the biggest thing for Stevie Nicks. Our middle one I tried to get her named Rhiannon but DH wasn't going for it at all, something about the French side of the family being unable to pronounce it, it's her middle name instead. ;)

**WARNING**WARNING**
THIS IS AN OBAMA BASH POST
<<Read at your own Risk>>

You have been warned.

The Boston Herald had an article out today that I thought a few **coughDISUNCcough** people might enjoy reading:

‘Pay grade’ unartful dodge'
http://www.bostonherald.com/news/opinion/op_ed/view.bg?articleid=1113869

I have mainly just been lurking on here. I just don't have much to add that hasn't already been said about Obama. The man gives me a headache :headache:

I just had to sign in and say I love this article and it really hit the nail on the head! :thumbsup2

I love the part
"With all due respect, Sen. Obama, being president is above your pay grade. And the voters are starting to figure that out."

I do see the tides turning on Obama and it's great!

So I heard they've finally agreed to 3 debates. That's going to be some gripping entertainment.

Once again I feel like I'm going to be going into the voting booth looking for a hidden camera.

Well at least there both better IMO than our last 2 choices....Bush and Kerry :lmao:

You dont here how amazing Obama is anymore from the media. What is he not doing know that he was doing than:confused3 I mean his speeches and his ideas are no different. He doesn't sound any less experienced today than he did 2 months ago:confused3

WE Hillary supporters are not seeing him any different....we are seeing him as we did in the beginning.....inexperienced and hums and haas when talking.

Ya know on the bios about them the other night on CNN....the one on McCain was impressive and showed experience and that he could go both sides....but the one on Obama was boring showing the total lack of experience...even life experience. It just showed a man that made it to the senate using Chicago Politics

As for the 2 on top picks for Obamas VP...they do not excite me enough to vote for him.

CNN standing by for the announcement of Obamas VP choice.....I asked if anyone on the OT has heard yet since they are to be the first to know...that is the ones that want to be e-mailed or IM'd before the announcement......nothing has been sent to them yet.

Do you really think they will know before the press? :rotfl:

Is that today? I thought the announcement was coming tommorrow? :confused3

That is what Obama has promised them if they registered to be notified...at least that's how I read it and hered it from OS. They just said on CNN that it is by Tex message that they will recieve it and not only are OS set up to be first notified so are the Reporters.......

Is that today? I thought the announcement was coming tommorrow? :confused3

Yes....anytime know.

drama.. drama.. drama.

(just realized that that I spelled drama with two 'm's :confused3 )

Doesn't matter. It won't help him in the polls aside from a small bump (possibly).

Don't think it will even do that :confused3 unless he decided after all that he needs Hillary. Than he would at least pick up maybe half of her 18 million voters.....that woudl be significant. But his wife does not want her so he will not have her. After all he did say during the SBF that when asked who he would go to in the Oval office for advice he said his wife Michelle.....that is comfortingt ya think:rotfl2:
