I find it interesting that most of us are supporters of HC & none of us (from what i read) have posted angrily...demanding BO to denounce, demonize, distance himself etc. from this (apparently) angry & racist preacher.

I don't know about you, but i'm kind of numb. I can't believe a church that he went to for 20 years would be like that (even if this was a "selective" video) & that BO names that preacher his "moral compass". Can't believe the tapes were just "out there".

No need to comment, or demand stuff of BO, or anything. It doesn't really matter what we think or say (we support HC anyway). Doesn't matter what the rabid BO supporters think or say.

What will be interesting is how the next 5 weeks play out & how this (& other issues) will be viewed by Independents & "on the fence" Democrats in Penn, MI, FL, NC & the other states. (& ultimately by the SDs)

I kinda feel like it's the night before a Championship game & the starting line-up from the other team just got suspended.

You know - I am just imagining what would be said on these boards (and IRL for that matter) if this was Hillary attending a church (or a bookclub for that matter) that held these kind of hateful views. Seriously - she would be blasted. Her campaign would be over because people would not just be calling for her to step out of the race - they would be calling for her head.

I mean I don't want to bring up the whole "water with artificial flavors and sweeteners" but jeez.

I'm cross posting this on the Obama, Liberal and Hillary threads-just because it occured to me that it might not be a bad idea.

I said this on another thread today-and I think I'm going to cross post it. We ALL need to be very careful this election season about our enthusiasm and/or frustration and not allow it to get personal. If we want to continue to be able to discuss this stuff here-we can't have people insulting each other and garnering points.

I think the boards this election season are going to be like playoff hockey, penalties are going to get called early and often to send a message.

We all have to play within the rules, or the game will be over.

So, don't take too much joy out of pastor-gate. It may win the Hillary the battle, but it's the war you should be worried about and her favorable ratings aren't going up much these days, are they?

I'm not sure it will help her at all actually. As you said, the loudest outrage is coming from people on the Right-so it's not like she's going to gain votes that Obama will lose from them.

I do wish we could be focusing on how Hillary and Obama are better than McCain though-instead of on what person attached to either campaign said today....

You have to go back 3 pages on the Obama thread to find an HC supporter's post.

There are 9 Obama supporter's posts on the the last 3 pages of the Hillary thread.

And this Hillary voter would have no problem voting for Obama .

My little poll on the Dream Team shows that only 11% of the Democrats would not vote for Obama/Hillary or Hillary/Obama with a full 1/3rd saying they don't care which one is the Presidential candidate. I just bumped it so maybe we can get more votes on it.

I left the Liberal thread because I did not want to listen to the Obama lovefest that mostly manifests as a Hillary bash.

I do not post on the Obama thread because 1) I am not a supporter and 2) do not feel the need to try and "get" any of his supporters on their own thread.

I know that we cannot say that you are not allowed to post on this thread. Ok - I won't. But I think I am allowed to ask why you do - especially when I can look at many of the posts and see they are not here as support for Hillary?

Seriously, most of us Obama supporters also really like Hillary and will vote for her in November. We see the trashing of either Democratic candidate as a win for McCain. Is that so hard for you to understand? Would you prefer this thread stay only for people who hate Obama more than they hate the thought of the Republicans winning?
