why not just a couple of days? I don't know why they just did not close the polls today in Ohio and wait till tomorrow due to safety reasons.

They're allowed to vote on provisional ballots at the county's board of elections. It's not the same as keeping a polling place open for an hour. I don't think it will hold up calling the state for a candidate or anything like that. It will make a difference in a few delegates at most, I'd guess.
