Finally Clinton wins one!!!!!

Yippee Rhode lsland!!!!!

Ohio - may end up being a mess and controversial

Obama went to the judge to keep the polls open due to issues - while I applaud everyone getting to vote - you've got to realize this will help him.......

The secretary of state's office says Barack Obama's campaign has filed a federal lawsuit to get a voting extension in Franklin and Cuyahoga counties, alleging a shortage of ballots.

Trouble in Texas Caucuses......

Bauer's conference call ambush [updated with audio]

Barack Obama's top lawyer, Bob Bauer, made an unexpected appearance on the Clinton campaign's conference call this evening, calling in on a line intended for reporters to challenge Clinton aides' claims of irregularities in several Texas precincts.

Bauer used his guerrilla appearance to call on Clinton's aides to "stop attacking the caucus process."

Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson eagerly engaged Bauer on what quickly became one of the campaign's sharpest exchanges, and possibly the most entertaining conference call in campaign history — which you can listen to above, courtesy of 2008Central.net.

"I would ask you to join with us this evening in ensuring that the serious problems that are ongoing as we speak in Texas are addressed," he said.

"What is happening in Texas is extraordinary. We, of course, don’t hold you personally responsible for it, … but we believe that you do share our commitment to strong democratic values," Wolfson said.

Bauer accused Clinton of a pattern of denigrating caucuses.

"In Nevada, you filed a lawsuit in advance of the caucus, ... in Iowa, you threatened various students," he said.

Wolfson said Clinton had never challenged a caucus.

"That is not true, Howard," Bauer said.

"This is not about the process, Bob; it's about the way this particular set of caucuses are going as we speak," Wolfson said.

After Bauer dropped off the call, Wolfson spelled out the lawyer's name for a reporter and gave a nod to his "vigorous defense of the indefensible."

"He didn't deny anything," added Clinton lawyer Lynn Utrecht.

Wolfson also saw an opening: "We look forward to asking our own questions" in future Obama conference calls, he said.

As for the actual allegations, Marc has a bit more, but I'll wait for the police reports.

I'm sorry do you mean suing? I'm in Texas watching the returns live and have heard nothing about the Obama camp threatening to sue.

Yes they called it suing why I don't know...they said that they were suing to keep the polls open later so more people could come and vote. It went to the courts and they said that they would keep the polls open later. I was watching it on a cable station OON...Ohio News or something like that and they said it also on FOX....

Looks like she will get Ohio and RI...Texas is a long way off yet. Would be great if she pulls them all out :thumbsup2

Huh? Explain that exchange I m confused.

Sorry - Clinton's team is accusing team Obama of locking their caucus members out of the caucuses.......

I beg the party - please get rid of the caucus the next go-around!!

Ahhhh. Interesting if true. So Clinton will sue in Texas and Obama will sue in Ohio? This is really awful.

Found on CNN - though, Texas looks like Obama might win....... though, I bolded a passage - maybe those votes will come through!!!!!!

Schneider: Clinton's strong finish
Posted: 08:34 PM ET

(CNN) – On a conference call with reporters earlier today, the Clinton campaign said they believed they finished strong ahead of the Texas and Ohio primaries.

According to the Ohio and Texas exit polls at least, they're right. Clinton holds roughly a 10-point advantage over Obama among those in Ohio who decided who to vote for in the last three days. Among those voters who decided before that, Clinton and Obama are split.

In Texas, Clinton holds even a larger advantage among late deciders. Those who decided in the last three days went for her by 23 points over Obama, 61 percent to 38 percent.

What happened in recent days? Clinton had a strong debate performances in both Texas and Ohio on Thursday, she appeared on Saturday Night Live over the weekend and The Daily Show Monday night, she launched her now famous 3 a.m. ad, and she hit Obama hard over an adviser's conversation with a Canadian official on NAFTA.

Obama already went to court in OH, and got a judge to keep the polls open in a certain county an extra hour........

I heard earlier that that was due to bad weather. But now I'm hearing about running out of ballots.

This is getting confusing. :confused3

They've been doing the caucuses since 1976. This is just the first year that Texas actually makes a difference in the primaries!

PlanoGirl, how were the caucuses? I've never been to one. It actually sounds fun.

Found on CNN - though, Texas looks like Obama might win....... though, I bolded a passage - maybe those votes will come through!!!!!!

Why do you think that? I'm guessing, based on exit polls, HC wins the popular vote in 3 of 4 today.

Also if she wins by a decent margin today but loses the caucus in Texas she can take that to the convention along with a bunch of other stats and ask if they really represent the will of the people???

I do think a longer campaign will help Hillary. Obama is starting to lose some of that luster.

DH just mad me laugh..he is watching McCain in his victory speech and he said "Gee what's wrong with his wife doesn't she ever speak or is she always looking like a manakin(sp) ? :rotfl:

He still likes McCain remember he is a REP after all but he is stuck on the 100 tears issue with the war. But still feels that he would be best for us when it comes to safety...but forget him in where the economy is concerned

Dh keeps telling me Hillary is gaining in Texas...he says he wants her to win by one vote :upsidedow

Caucuses are just undemocratic....... some of them - you have to change your vote - if the candidate doesn't get a certain percentage......

Then in Texas - you've got to vote twice? It just doesn't make sense!!! ;)

I so hope you're correct!!!! I'm just looking at the early returns........

Though this just depressed me.......

From CNN:

Schneider: Clinton's delegate problem
Posted: 09:13 PM ET

(CNN) — In what may be bad news for Clinton, Democrats across all four states overwhelmingly say they want super delegates to vote based on which candidate finishes ahead in the pledged delegate count at the end of the primary season.

Majorities of Democrats in Texas (62 percent), Ohio (61 percent), Rhode Island (57 percent) and Vermont (66 percent) all said the super delegates should cast their vote for the primary winner, not for who they think can best win in November.

Why is this bad news for Clinton? As CNN's John King has made clear on his interactive delegate map, it is nearly impossible for Clinton to catch up to Obama's pledged delegate count. She would have to win the rest of the states convincingly to do so, given that the party allots delegates proportionally. Barring large blowouts in the remaining contests, its likely Clinton will finish behind Obama in pledged delegates.

I didn't go to it. Sick kid at home and I'm feeling really odd myself.

I'm trying to find out how it went though.

I so hope you're correct!!!! I'm just looking at the early returns........
The huge early lead was from the early vote. People that went from the Obama events and voted. Those votes were counted first. Those early votes went 2-1 to Obama from what the polling suggested and that lead is almost gone.
