So some of the Obama supporters are upset over this ad.

I think its a pretty effective one. :confused3

What do you think?

Actually - I am not too thrilled with it. Johnson's "Daisy" commercial anyone? No - we cannot make a stance that the Rove-ian fear tactics are wrong and then use them ourselves.

I understand that she was trying to highlight that she is more experienced - already has some relationships developed with foreign leaders - I just think this was the wrong way to go about it.

And this is pretty much what I said in the email I sent her campaign. The thing is - she doesn't have to just take the high road - she pretty much needs to be floating on air. Her campaign slogan should be "I work twice as hard to be thought half as good."

I don't know. It seems pretty innocuous to me. She has been saying all along that she has more experience. This add just says the same thing. Obama is not bashed; he's not even mentioned. I am not outraged by this one.

Your right - it doesn't say anything about Obama. But it is telling you to be scared about "who answers the phone at the WH". That is what I do not agree with. I just think she is better than that.

It doesn't bother me much. I'm pretty much tired of the fear tactic, but I am terrified about who is answering the phone in the White House today.

To me the message was less we should be afraid and more how experienced Hillary is so we can trust her to have good judgement. I'll admit maybe I'd have seen it differently if McCain had put it out, though. :confused3

:thumbsup2 Thanks for the for work on this!!!!!

So if I understand what you're saying... Hillary is leading with Dems, actual for sure Dems. Where as Obama's support is undetermined possibly a mixture of Dems, Ind, and (most troubling) Repubs?

The question then becomes are the Repubs voting for him to tinker with the election or because they genuinely believe in him and/or are tired of the current repubs.

We will never Know...UNTIL IF November comes and IF Obama is the candidate, and the General Election His % of votes go way down. Then we will know. Allthough one can never really prove this.

Hoooooowever, my point I was trying to make the other day is that This is why the DNC had come up with the whole "Super Delagate" process back in the 70's. The Super Delegate is suppose to insure that the Democrat nominee is really the DEMOCRAT nominee.

The whole "Super Delagate should vote inline with the results of their local primary results" is really a moot point. If the SD's are to go with their primary results...why bother...what's one more delagate?:confused3

The SD should vote "for the best of the Democrat Party" since many Independants & Republicans vote in the Democrat primaries.

If all the Democrat primaries/caucus were closed to only Registered (6 weeks or more)Democrats, then Hillary would be far ahead of Obama!

Perhaps, its because he has broader appeal than Hillary does.

Being that as of today Obama only has less then a million more votes then Hillary, this has not been proven yet! AND thats not counting Florida!!!! If Florida, who did have all the candidates listed on their ballots...Then she gets more votes than Obama!

As far as Republicans trying to spoil it - I think there are some, but my friend voted Hillary in VA even though he is a McCain supporter as he feels he can beat Hillary but not Obama.
That is just a guess. So far no poll asking "Just Democrats" has been published. Every poll published so far was either asked to the general public or Obama Supporters.

:thumbsup2 I am DISUNC and I approve this Message!:lmao:

Of course Obama supporters would be upset over this commercial, Cause ITS TRUE!!!!!!!!!! They dont seem to like that over there!:rolleyes1 Dont fit in with the whole "Hope & Change" milieu!:snooty:

I was thinking about this whole open or closed primary issue. If the jump in Repubs voting in open primaries really was because Obama has broader appeal. Then wouldn't we see huge numbers registering as Dems in the states with closed primaries? If these people truly are huge Obama supporters wouldn't they want to reg as Dem or Ind, just to make sure they were able to vote for Obama in the primary?

I don't remember reading any stories about lots of new Dems registering. Has anyone else?

BTW There's been yet another thread opened accusing Dem's (specifically Hillary) of campaigning dirty. I am so sick of this.

This is my point, They dont need to registar as ANYTHING in many states. A Repub/Independant can easily vote for whomever they want.

I have read about many college kids registering!

I think it is fine. It's simple and I don't think it is offensive :confused3

Just heard on CNN that Obama realeased the SAME commercial..only with the ending.."When the person who answers the phone should be someone who didnt vote for the war"....or something like that.:lmao:

It would be inrteresting to see since now Obama has the same commercial, how his supporters feel about 'fear' tatics!:rolleyes1

We were talking about the debates @ work. The topic came up that during the last few debates, when Hillary was asked any question first, and answered.....Baraks answer was always "I agree with Hillary"

This did happen a few times in each debate. Has anyone else noticed this.

That's because his platform is a virtual clone of hers. Everything he has come up with, she proposed first. The only thing he has over her is that he is a fabulous inspirational speaker who has captured the mood of a nation.

He also has a better organizational structure because she never expected to have to campaign past Super Tuesday.

That's it.

This is so true it's breaking my heart. I haven't gotten one thing from Hillary in the mail. This week I've gotten mailings from Obama twice (and several phone calls too). The last one had a reminder that I needed to not only vote in the primary, but show up for the caucus. It ever so helpfully provided the address and time for the caucus. I kinda want to email him and thank him and tell him I'm still not voting for him :rotfl:

OK.. this 'Obama didn't vote for the war' thing is ticking me off royally!
First off, wasn’t 2004 when Obama was elected into the senate and our US senate voted to go to war in 2002 or am I way off here? If that’s the case – of course he didn’t vote to go to war – he wasn’t in a political position to do so.

Second, let’s go back in time to 2002, not long after 9/11, and in hindsight we now know that the Bush Administration was full of <insert word of your choice here> for its reasons to go to war … but that’s in hindsight. The war, for the most part, was a very popular decision when it first began. Saddam was harboring Al Qaeda… Saddam had tons of weapons of mass destruction… Saddam was a serious threat to the US… everyone bought the Bush Administration lies. Shoot, at the church I attended one Sunday they paraded the US flag and played the Star Spangle Banner – everyone was all pro-war. (in general) Had Hillary not voted to go to war, when Bush presented what looked to be a justifiable reason to do so to the senate, then she, especially being the Senator of New York – the state that suffered the most from the 9/11 attacks, would have not been looked upon favorably for doing so.

So, what am I not understanding? What out of that do I have wrong that has so many people upset that Hillary voted to go to war when in 2002 it looked as if we had cause to go to war? Why is Obama so proud that he didn’t vote to go to war when he wasn’t even in the senate to vote on it?

Maybe it's because I'm not enthralled with the man but CNN was showing him speak in Austin (was it yesterday?) and I just didn't find him inspirational at all and I had trouble getting into his speech. Truthfully, everyone the camera showed in the background looked a bit bored... until Obama said the magic word: Change.

He said 'change' and the people went from looking bored to cheering so loudly that he had to pause in his speech.

I personally think his speeches are short on content, but many people do seem to like them, so we have to give him credit.
