Thanks so much for all of your comments!
I forgot to add that all of our animals are rescues that come from the MSPCA. Whenever they get a farm animal that they think would be a good fit for our place, they let us know. We just got a new goat, Lyra, this week. We have been very fortunate that most of the animals we get have been super sweet and gentle. They will live the rest of their lives on our farm and act as ambassadors to the people who visit.
We don't know all of their histories or stories, but Alfie, the smaller of the pigs, belonged to a teenaged girl who secretly purchased him as a little piglet and then kept him hidden in her grandmother's pool shed. When he was discovered by her family, he was turned in, and then came to us.
In addition to our animal programs, we offer a lot of historical classes like "First Settlers", where we talk about life in the 1600's. I get to grind (spices) and churn (butter) for this one while in Colonial garb. We have a historical fiction class "In Search of a Story" where we use the detailed diary of one of the farm's former owners who was a ship captain, war hero, prisoner and farmer to introduce students to the setting and vocabulary for stories they will write about life in Colonial times. And we have an archeology program where kids dig in a practice pit and find artifacts, they put together shards of pottery to make items, make inferences about some artifacts and then tour the house to see the changes that have taken place there over the past 300 years. We have a door in the wall that shows the different layers from stone, to wood, to paneling, to recent repairs.
I love the concession sign and the bathroom names...well done.
Beautiful pictures from the production.
And oh my...I wish my office looked like that! Great pictures.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Thank you so much!
Coming up with the names for the show snacks has become my "thing" and the pressure is always on. It is funny when inspiration comes for some of the names.
I am lucky to be able to work in such a beautiful place, although sometimes the enjoyment is weather-dependent.
And the best part? Some of the, ahem, less glamorous chores on the farm are done by volunteers, not staff.
Wonderful pics!
Thank you so much!
Dee, you did a great job assigning new names to the snacks and facilities.

It looks like the production went really well and Ben did a great job.
The pictures of your "office" are stunning! What I wouldn't give to work with a couple of "real" pigs, goats, and donkeys. As it is, I just work with an A$$.
Thank you!
It was a great show and we had a super talented cast. It was not one of our better-attended shows, which is a shame since it was such a quality production. But at least I get to share a bit with all of you.
Sorry, I won't trade my donkey for yours! Roger is super sweet and really loud.
OK, this is all really good stuff, but now I'm feeling like my theatre concession signs require significant improvement, as mine only say "water" and "candy." I'm sending you my word document via e-mail so you can see how inferior they are! And your office - well, given my profession I should just get an automatic pass on that one - no way I can top that one!
So sorry to cause concession stand-envy. The consolation I can offer you is that at least you don't have to deal with performance anxiety about coming up with stage-names for your snacks! Once you go down that road...
Fortunately, I get a lot of satisfaction from my work, because the hours and pay are not much. But as I mentioned above, I get to do the fun stuff at the farm, while others volunteer their time for the nastier jobs there.
Dee I think you are one of the hardest working moms around! My last volunteer job was as the treasurer for my middle son's Carnegie Hall performance for his chorale group in 1999!!

Getting 20 parents to cough up $900 for their kid to attend was quite a job!
Thank you!
I used to make my own business cards when the kids were small. My profession was listed as "Stay at Home Mom Who Rarely Stays at Home" and had a graphic of a mom running around.
Echo's pop pop corn corn!

That was great.
Thank Thank You You!
I loved the fall photos of the farm. I really wish we had seasons here - at least a season with pretty colors!
One of the moms in the preschool group I have on Fridays just moved from California and she couldn't stop remarking about all of the trees and beautiful colors.
Loving the "office" pics and wow the menu and stage settings are class

Ben looks amazing in his costume. Glad to hear the production went well. You have set me thinking about volunteering at some of the National Trust properties here in a year or two when the youngest stays in school a little later than now
I had never even been on the farm until I started working there. That would be cool if you could find an opportunity to volunteer (or better yet, work) at one of the historic places in your neck of the woods.
This was Ben's favorite costume ever!
I sure wish my office looked like that as well! It just looks beautiful in the fall! Very cool. Thanks for all the great pictures of your "coworkers".
And the play set is very creative. Nice job!
Hope you and your family have a great thanksgiving and I was happy to see your TR bump up on my subbed TRs this morning.
Thanks for looking at the pictures and for your kind comments.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well. Are you traveling or hosting?
I would love your office! Great pics!

Thanks! Glad you stopped by.
