ok, im still getting over jet lag but im here:banana:
a few highs and lows...
flying AA, staff and equipment v good, staff very good with asd son, food was poor, but hey, isnt all airline food??
miami airport was quick and effecient, off plane and through luggage/customs etc in 40 mins
SSr thanks to sartatoga girl, who advised i ask for certain sections, we ended up in the only section we didnt request:rotfl2:, we were in CP, room 2111, about 20m from the small pool, and quietish:confused:
we loved the room, it was massive, washing machine was a god send but the tumble dryer was vvvvvery slow:lmao:

ddp "cost" us over $5000, it was way too much food, we wasted massive amouts of snacks on water etc, loads of smoothies and slushies were eaten:rolleyes1 it was hot;)
some of the restaurants were excellent (ohanas/50s ptc and wcc)
some ok (sci-fi/cms)
some were poor )yak and yeti and kona were awful..)

the parks were quiet esp US we expected huge queues for wwohp but 30 mins was the average on the 4 days we were there...

watching the fireworks from the beach at the poly is soooooo much better than being squashed in MK

Lows
no car available at miami hertz, we booked a 4x4 but finished withan MPV, bru liked it, which was all that was important, but i wasn t impressed they couldnt give us what we had ordered..boot space was v ltd.
only 1 person made an effort for our anniversary and gave us light up buzz and tinkerbells lol, it was at wcc...and we won the kissing competition:rotfl:

butterbeer, god that stuff is minging:rotfl2:

coming home:rotfl2: 24 hour journey is pants:rolleyes1

but you all want toknow about v and a dont you???:rotfl2:
to put this in perspective, and before you see the pictures we got stuck in I4 following a car crash, so we got back to ssr at 4.15, and the taxi was booked for 4.50...
ok i looked a wreck but who cares?? food speaks for itself:laughing:

we dropped the kids atthe poly kids club and then walked to ttc:confused:, ok monorail back to GF:laughing:,i just wanted to explain why i look so rough in photos

ok before we left room

Get onto Bruno looking all smart, hope he still wore his Arsenal crocs ;)

Ps, I changed my avatar so Fernando is no longer annoying you ;)

sorry about the quality of the photos as, taking pictures of food dint seem appropriate there:rotfl2:
well, it was amazing, bru did the wine pairing and whilst still standing, did give me the port as he had done!!
what made me laugh the most was that when i went to the toilet, they changed my napkin, and escorted me into the restaurant as a lady should nt enter the room alone..me..a lady????
it was an amazing experience, but at $500 + not something id do everyday.

whats the weather been like?
Its great to know its been quiet, seeing as we'll be there next year.

weather was either rainy/thunder storms or very very hot, it was very humid nicky, a bit too hot and sticky for me, but better than fay last trip:rotfl:
you should do v and a...worth it!

Welcome back Tracy! Glad you had a good time. It has been quiet without all of you who disappeared for August. Nice to have all the family arriving back again! :thumbsup2

Are you going to do a trip report when you recover from the jetlag? How did your kids like the Neverland Club?

We are all itching for all the news. :yay::yay::yay:

Hello there :goodvibes

We loved Kona, wished we had booked there twice, liked Yak and Yeti.

Agree re the butterbeer.

Strange we went in at 8am, when we came out the queue just to get into harry potter land was three hours.

I did say to DH today that I was expecting the rides in all parks to be worse than they were.

Everyone seemed to be in IOA, universal was soooooooooooo quiet. I preferred universal to IOA.

Totally agree re the weather, either stifling hot and humid or heavy rain with thunder and lightning ............ you should have seen my nephew jump and move so fast on our first night (when taking in cases :sad2:) with the thunder and lighting and heavy rain.

Lovely that you celebrated your anniversary at V&A - some price tag though!:scared1:

scott wasnt too impressed with kids club, but he is nearly 13 too young to be babied but not old enough to left alone for 5 hours in a strange country, josh and grace loved it, but the food was minimal and they did comme out hungry, if you are going to club, id feed them first:lmao:
what have i missed over here?
seems wierd, new names and loads going on that i have missed...so whats the goss???

we did ioa the llast week, so im sure the fact that kids had gone back to school affected crowd levels, we went on 2 weekends and both were v quiet, alot of people went straight to HP and we didnt, i think the crowds had thinned by the time we got there lunch time ish.
josh even got chose at olivanders (line=40mins longer than FJ) and he has a special wand now:cloud9:

my kids loved the storms, from inside the villa..that is!!
both y&y and kona were ruined by poor service, food was ok, nothing special at either, but staff were rude/incompetent i put in a formal complaint at Y&Y it was that awful:rolleyes1, we are both hospitality trained and i can do ok service, but this was BAD service!

what i love about this dis is the fact we all have diff opinions and experiences and im glad you had a better time than us:hug:

why thepandf obsession?

Welcome Home Tracy

Great to hear that you had so many highs. I guess there will always be some lows on all holidays - it's how you deal with them that determines the sort of trip you have and it sounds like you didn't let it ruin yours :thumbsup2

Looking forward to reading the trippie :goodvibes

I dunno, it's just so funny, so many jokes that kids just wouldn't follow for it to be purely for them, plus Perry the Platypus is an incredible character, so much expression and personality without even saying a word!!

Tell Grace I'll teach her the next time we're all partying in Florida ;)
