Since we are going in November I don't really know what the weather will be like but I will probably have to wear jeans and I can't stand wearing sneakers with jeans--I always wear high heeled boots (like stilettos) or just high heels...am I crazy to walk around in a park like that--I normally wear my boots/heels for hours on end.

Can you walk 5-10 miles per day, numerous days in a row, in those heels? Plus a lot of standing time - waiting in lines and things. If so, I guess you would be okay.

I can hardly stand it in really supportive running shoes -- my feet kill every single night at WDW.

I can not imagine wearing high heels all around the park. You will have so many blisters!

If you normally walk 5-12 miles a day in boots/high heels then you will be fine. Those are the average miles of walking a typical visitor to WDW does each day.

If you don't like sneakers why not check out other casual types of shoes. I wear Keens and love them; you might like the style of their Market St or Blvd lines. They are cute, but very comfortable and functional.

HTH! :wizard:

I would invest in a cute pair of flats. I wore high heeled boots once while walking around NYC and was on my feet for almost 11 hours. By the time I finally got out of them, I thought my feet were going to fall off and they were covered in blisters.

I just don't think you should risk it.

If you can walk miles on textured pavement (I'm thinking AK, and some parts of MK) then wear your heels, but I wouldn't be surprised if you wrenched an ankle at one point - WDW has some really odd curbs/pavement.

Since you asked.....yes! :rotfl:

Seriously, they are your feet. Wear what you want to wear, but why would you care how stylish you footwear is while at the parks? Sneakers and jeans look just fine and your feet will thank you!!!

Either way, have fun!!!

I wore a pedometer one year, and in Epcot we did 13 miles in one day! I just don't think it's feasible to where hard-soled shoes with heels for that kind of mileage. I know you said that you don't like jeans with sneakers, and as far as fashion goes, you are probably right--boots will look better. But this is one of those times when comfort and practicality should be your priority.

I've worn heels in the parks before. My boot cut and flared jeans are too long with flats. I usually bring 4 or 5 pairs so that I can change them almost every day because they get kind of uncomfortable after a long time. If you can get skinny jeans they look cute with ballet flats. That might be more comfortable.

I understand the living in high heels, when I was younger I could wear them 12 -18 hours a day everyday. Work, play, dancing, walking, etc and no I wouldn't get blisters. If your shoes fit correctly you don't get blisters BUT walking at Disney isn't flat. The pavement is all different types and textures, very uneven. Then there is getting in and out of ride vehicles with different surfaces. And finally there is the crowd factor and people stepping on you and the great chance of you stepping on someone and a stiletto heel to the instep is not a pleasurable feeling!!!

If you want a higher heel boot I'd look for a wedge or a platform at the very least.

Certifiable.

I think in some States that's grounds for involuntary committal.

:sad2:

I wouldn't do heels. Like another poster said, getting in and out of rides might be a pain, not to mention the endless walking. Unless you're going to do a seriously minimal amount of touring...
Maybe some cute flats?...gives you an excuse to go shoe shopping!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Even if you could, why would you want to? Do you know what heels actually do to your feet and back, etc? I really don't get why people want to trash their feet.

You don't have to wear sneakers but I really don't think it's a great idea to walk 10 miles in heels.

but if you do decide to wear your heels be aware you will be considered a winner in someone's game of "bad shoe"

you would be amazed what DH is saying right now--just so happens that he was asleep when I first posted this...he is agreeing STRONGLY with everyone... with walking so much-- I guess that is another reason to go to DSW tomorrow. I know that its crazy, but I don't go to Disney when it's "cold" or I have to wear shorts... I guess I didn't think about walking "10 miles" yes, 5 miles I could do...even chasing kids, but.....it's all about the fashion right??!!! Not down there I guess...btw I did see someone there last time in heeled boots..

First, it can be quite warm in November, and as a high heel wearer, there is nothing worse than being in heels all day when it's really warm!

Second, just because you don't want to wear sneakers with jeans doesn't mean you need to wear heels, does it? There are so many cute shoe options, even with a bit of a heel (like a low-heeled wedge). I'm not much of a flats wearer because it's almost impossible to find a pair that doesn't rub my heels to shreds unless they have elastic backs, and the kind of flats I can wear (with elastic backs) have NO support or padding to keep my feet from getting tired after standing and walking on pavement all day.

Believe me, I love my high heels, but there's a time and place for everything and this may not be either. I hear you on wearing heels for hours on end - so do I. But do you walk, stand in line, get on and off rides, buses, etc for hours on end in those heels?

And if this is about having jeans that are too long for flats, IMHO, every woman should have jeans that work with both. It's so easy and cheap to have jeans hemmed these days - and hemmed in ways that still look "right" for jeans. If that's the issue, I HIGHLY recommend having a couple of pair of jeans hemmed rather than risking blistering your feet and negatively impacting your ability to enjoy your (not cheap) vacation!
