This will be a post for those of you who have returned to WDW multiple times, but what are those hidden gems of the Magic Kingdom that most people might miss, but you have noticed in slowing down and taking it all in?

I'm talking things like the windows on Main Street, riding the Jungle Cruise at night, the cast members stories, etc.

What are *YOUR* hidden gems of the Magic Kingdom?

(In case you are wondering, we did our latest show on this topic! We came up with some great things from the DIS experts! Please check us out! You can listen while you DIS! Just click on the link in my signature!)

Thanks!
Mike

there is a very quiet walkway between tomorrowland and toontown. very pretty, practically no one uses it. and sometimes you even get to see a train go by! sometimes you just need a little break from all the crowds.

I love setting in the rocking chairs at the hospitality house watching everyone leaving the kingdom.:goodvibes

I've taken this! Between Mad Tea Party and Tomorrowland? Or am I thinking of another shortcut?

Christmas store in LS is awesome. And the little patio areas in LS, too. Columbia Harbour House = awesome fish and chips!!

I've heard BTMRR is good at night, too.

This is also a great place to watch a shuttle launch!

Worm, I love that path back there in the back of the park. We found it by accident once, and couldn't believe that there were so few people on it! :)

..And you are also right about Ye Christmas Shoppe! How cool is that to visit during the summer?

What are yours?

I'm not trying to start something, but is it cool that you advertise your podcast on someone else boards? You know the DIS has a podcast also....

We like to stop and smell the roses - literally - when we're in Disney. People rush by all the roses and never pay any attention to how beautiful they are. In front of the castle the walkways are lined with beautiful roses. I like to teach my 4 year old that the the amazing things in nature can be just as awesome as the fantasy and technology of Disney.

Thanks Mike!
I'm listening right now.

Who is the voice that did the opening welcome? He sounds like someone I know.

Yes, I know the DIS had their own podcast, which I am a huge fan of. I have talked with Pete about this, and he has no problems with it. We talk about the DIS Unplugged on our show and how they have really "inspired" us to do what we do. I would have never done this before talking with Pete, but he has been nothing but encouraging with our podcast. He has even given us production tips and things like that, so I have the upmost respect for him! :)

Thanks!

(The voice in the opening is Billy Greenwood from 93.7 The Bull here in St. Louis!)

Awesome, glad to hear it. Actually I've listened to all your podcasts, good work. There is plenty of time in my day for for several podcasts....

I appreciate you listening, and I want everyone to know how much Pete has helped us with our show. We are not competing with the DISUnplugged at all! They are #1 and rock! We are just a little show to have fun and share our passion for WDW! :)

Again, thanks to Pete and all of the member of the DIS because you are what make our show what it is! :)

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! :)

Cool Topic!
I'm from the STL area too.

I love riding Big Thunder Mtn during Wishes. It's so quiet you get to ride over and over again. We went 4 times during Wishes. It was beautiful.

After the park closes. STOP!! Don't rush for the exits, actually head INTO the meat of the park. For us photo freaks that is the time I grab the tripod and set up with no crowds to kick my tripod legs.:furious:

On our annual Oct. trip we take our family Christmas picture somewhere in the park almost always well after the park has closed.

I think most of mine have been mentioned, but I'll go ahead anyway.

I enjoy sitting behind the Xmas store and relaxing.

The path between toontown and futureworld is great, at night
even better.

Want a great view, wander up the treehouse at night.

try to get on big thunder during the fireworks!

I loved this pathway!! When we were there in Feb., we were the only ones on the path. We sat on a bench, the kids enjoyed skipping and playing on the path. We all enjoyed the break.

Riding the TTA during Wishes. If you time it just right (get lucky), Tink flies right past you. :goodvibes

OR

Riding Splash Mountain during Wishes. It is really cool to come around the mountain and see fireworks. :goodvibes

I've done that once, totally by accident, but crested the hill on Splash Mountain just as Wishes was going on and WOW! :) That is one cool sight!

Anyone else? I love hearing these things, as it totally gets me pumped for our next trip down in 54 days! :)

Mike

Mine is food related. My kids and I love going over to Sleepy Hollow and getting a chocolate chunk cookie. They are good and a nice snack in between meals. :)
