Welcome to the Board

My family are going to in August 2010 and this is our first time as well:goodvibes

Ways to save $$ on tickets... When booking online, Disney always assumes you want tickets of every day of your stay, including the day you arrive and the day you leave. I always do Downtown Disney on the day I arrive rather than waste a day's ticket for just a few hours. Likewise, they assume you will want to visit a park on the day you leave after you check out of the hotel. They also assume you want to visit the water parks, which I never do. If you want, you can adjust the ticket options to delete the days you arrive and leave plus the water parks if you won't be using them. That saves big $$.

If flying, don't be afraid to use the Magic Express to and from the airport and the internal bus transportation. It will save you the cost of the rental car.

Hi Welcome to the boards and congrats on planning your trip:cool1:

One suggestion is to really research the parks and attractions you want to see. It can be overwhelming your first family Disney trip to see everything. Depending on how old your children are, I would put an afternoon break back at your hotel if you are going to stay on-site.

I know you can add on the park hopper option when your there, I would seriously consider it especially if you are going to be eating in the parks. We did the free dining plan in September. We were not able to always get reservations to a restaurant of the park we were in. It gave us more flexibility for restaurant choices.

I know it is Disney world and there is tons to see. I have been there six times and I never did a water park till this year. I can't believe how much fun it was. We don't have good water parks like that. Blizzard Beach is our favorite.

I don't know what resort you are staying in, if on-site but if money is a factor in your choice and you want amenities that are in a deluxe hotel Coronado Springs is a good choice. We stayed there is September and they have renovated rooms with queen beds. a fitness center and spa and an awesome pool.

I agree with the previous post about the magic express and the internal transportation system. We have had a great experience and wouldn't do it any other way.

We are planning our seventh trip for Sept.2010.

Hope this helps.:goodvibes
