Hi, my name is Elaine and I'm a thread killer

:wave2: Hey, peeps....:goodvibes

Hope everyone is okay. No big losses in that stock market or anything like that...

Another dreary day here... I'm ready for vacation...:scared: Heck, I'm more than ready for...

Bad 'budget' day for this house. Garbage disposal kicked it. Three hundred dollars (and change) later, I have a shiny new one. Couldn't NOT replace it, as apparently acid from the food had eaten a hole in the side and water poured out of it! :scared1:

Not much new to tell here--that is MORE than enough excitement for me!

Sorry to hear about the expense... It's always something. We had a tune-up on the car for $180.00 this week and the next day the radiator hose burst for another $80.00.:scared1: Hoping for a budget friendly week after Easter:hug:.

we brought mine in for maintenance & some light coming on.

$750+ later :sad1:
bad timing too....i just started back at work (been out 4 months b/c of back injury). DH was laid off last year after being on the NYSE 30 years (along with many, many others), & like the others, is working in a much lower paying job.
for the first time in 25 years of marriage, i think we might have to carry a balance on a credit card ($5,000 second half tax bill due soon too) ......just a little scary

but we'll make it. all healthy (mostly  lol), definately happy (can't buy that:thumbsup2 ).

might be a good time to try selling on ebay tho ;)

Great to see that you have a positive attitude.

Sorry about your hard times. It's seems like when it rains it pours. That being a fact, I try to proceed cautiously...being laid-off is one of the hardest things to bounce back from. The good thing, it's just DH and I. We have both been laid-off at different points in time. When you have kids it's harder to cut corners. Here's to wishing things get better. pixiedust:

Awww...I was trying to hurry in here and post before you did, Vivianne, just to surprise you! Sorry I was too late. I thought you would like to see us on page one without having to hunt us down...One of these days, I will be here first, just wait! ;)

Hey wait, no one told me there was a contest to post first..:lmao: :lmao:, hope everyone is having a better budget day...

My washing machine is sick and I called the appliance guy... :confused3 Now she is working okay but I know if I cancel I will be in big trouble;).

 Trust me, they'll be another opportunity..Otherwise, I'll always hunt this thread down. ;)

I hate to say this when so many TK's are paying good money to get things fixed or buying new applicances. DH is a great fixer of all items, big and small. I'm told that when he was a little boy, he used to walk around with a screwdriver....:lmao: Although, there are times when things can't get fixed, no matter what. They're dead..RIP. He does get a little annoyed when I tell him something is broken, he tells me "I wish I had alot of money, so I don't have to fix anything." I ignore him and hope for a resurrection. ;)

Hey fellow TK'rs...:goodvibes

Just checking in. I really need to clean my house before it's declared a catastrophe. Plus I need to pack, pay bills....etc. Ugh.

DH is sick...I have to mother him too..I guess better now than next week. :rolleyes1

Well the washing machine was good for 5 loads last night... and not one problem. (We went to Holy Thursday Mass and DD brought up the Holy Chrism Oil so maybe that was a sign for us.) My Aunt's wake is tonight (not a close Aunt but still family) so I called and cancelled the repair call. We will also go to mass today for Good Friday so hopefully all will be well for the weekend.

Vivianne, hope DH feels better soon. I know it sounds terrible but I told DH and the kids if they were going to get sick, to do it soon so we could be healthy for Disney. Backfired onto me, I have a sinus infection and a UTI. Can never win! I think that I get so nervous about going away that I actually make myself sick.. I am on the second antibiotic so I guess I should pick up the stuff for the y**st infection;).

Hope that everyone has a great holiday/or weekend if they are not religious!

Hi Tk'rs and all who read this post

Have a happy weekend

Thank you, DH is getting alot of rest and says he's starting to feel better hope you feel better too. Sorry about your aunt passing.

May your washing machine continue to run...

Happy Saturday. Going to get the basket Blessed and then DH is taking me shopping to take my mind off of things. I am such a worry wart. Not sure why it happened. Hope it is just a freak side effect of pre-menopause. I made two ADR's and would love your input. (I was shaking while making the ressie's, boy of boy hormones SUCK:rotfl2:) We usually only eat at TS if we are on the DDP and we are paying OOP... So DD was outed from her friends who are going to Askerhaus for the Princess Dinner. (Couldn't justify the cost with food that she will not eat, Not one thing on the menu she said she would even try). So I called one of the other Mom's and got a few of her friends together and made plans at the Garden Grill character lunch. I made the 2:50pm ressie so it could be considered early dinner and they could graze their way through the Worlds. Anyone been there? How is the food? I also made ressie at Rainforest Cafe the next day for a late lunch. I have $75.00 in GCards from MyPoints. So even if we just get a sandwich it should be okay. Any input would be appreciated.

Budget Update: The washing machine has been working just fine and I am going to wait on the service call... Even if it goes totally down I can go the the laundrymat down the street. This will leave $ in the budget for Disney:idea:.

Hey Friends...
greet013.gif

Wishing everyone a great day!

Tinker'N'Fun,

Never been to the Garden Grill but maybe in the future. This time around, we have ADRs for LeChefs - France and Kona for our MK day.

We've been to the Rainforest at AK, Downtown Disney and have one here where we live. Some people love it, others hate it. I like it, plus I like watching:fish: while I eat. DH signed on for the membership at an additional fee. You supposedly get in quicker and we receive coupon offers in our email.

Just checking in. I think this thread is down to just a few people and none of us want to be the one to kill the thread or I know I would feel guilty if I let someone else be the "killer":scared:! Weekend went good. Its almost time to due the monthly bills so I am dreading the budget. Anything that doesn't go to bills is the money I have left for Disney this month... Scary thought:scared1:!

Well if you ever read the clean out your cupboard and freezer threads I think I have succeeded. Well at least in the freezer. Now I have to fill it back up, just not sure how much since we will be away. I took a 3 week break from normal grocery shopping and only purchased what I needed. Well needless to say when I looked at the prices in the ads I almost fell off the couch. Can they bring the prices any higher:eek: .

Well all is bought for disney except for the Tums.. Must not forget them!! LOL since I eat more there in one week than I do for a month at home. I have been trying to keep my nerves in tack and not overreact with the kids;). I have a huge pile of clothes in the living room that needs to be rolled and packed but I am typing on the budget boards.. Oh well!

Well I have rambled enough today to keep this thread going and it might even fill up some of the page:flower3:! Have a great day and remember to stay on budget.

Diane

Hey, glad to see you're still around. I don't want to kill this thread either. Nothing like friendly banter with a little budget sprinkled on it. Going to see

next week.

I got tickets to the P&P party and also would like to see La Nouba. I did see Mystere at The Mirage in Vegas. We'll see if it works out. The tickets are pricey though.

I'll try to check in during vacation, it all depends on whether I have web access. DH always brings his computer. We drive and he uses it for GPS. We leave on Sat. so we're down to the wire.......:goodvibes

Oh yeah, I'll try to save money....

Definetely budget related. Where do you store your laptop in the hotel. The kids want to take one but I can't afford (see I told you budget related) to replace it if it was reappropriated to someone else:rolleyes1...

Since we rent a car, DH always brings it with him and stores it in the trunk when we're at the parks. Plus, we're only staying at hotels 3 nights. The rest of the time will be at a pool house, if we go out, he brings it with him. He also downloads his pics, he'll go to the car while we're at the parks for a break. :)

Hello! I'm a fellow threadkiller. I don't know if you remember me, you made me feel better when I got picked on. I wanted to ask you if you got tickets for La Nouba yet and if you knew of any discount places to get those. We want to go with kids but not sure if it is ok/fun for kids. Whatcha think?

OMG, I was sooo surprised to look at my subscriptions and see that a thread that I THOUGHT I had killed had been raised from the dead!:scared1:

Seriously, though, this thread went without posts for over a month...I think there's hope for me yet!:cloud9:
