Hi, my name is Elaine and I'm a thread killer

Well hello thread killers I am bummed tonight and thought this would be the place. I am very excited that we are going to Disney in April w/ daughter who will be in the parade. Got the itinerary today and they have totally ruined it for me... The band director is letting the girls sleep in and go to the pool and we don't leave for the parks til lunchtime. I am not adjusting to someone else planning my Disney trip...

I am very excited to see her though marching down Main Street..:lovestruc :lovestruc! So I am hoping for an airline miracle.. The school is leaving Friday April 18th on the bus.. (26 hours to get home). If I can get airfare reasonable I would like to stay until Monday and actually get to enjoy even 2 days at the parks with my whole family... I can't believe how much it hurts that they grow up... (Deep down inside I know my daughter wants to be with us but her friends will make fun of her, but we are a close family).

On the other side of the coin it looks like the band director submitted them to march in the Inaugural Parade in January of next year.. This is a mixed bag here... DD thinks that this is "nothing special" and boring for her... I guess teenagers aren't really into that type of stuff... Band trips are not suppose to be educational;). Then DH got me all worried that it would be a hot spot if Clinton or Obama got elected. So I guess I am not sleeping tonight. As you probably can tell my mind is going a mile a minute... Oh, then the band director says if we don't get accepted into the Inaugural Parade we will be doing the Orange bowl... So now DD is just bumming with me!

Have a good day fellow thread killers... Hope I didn't bore this thread to death with all my rambling:lmao:.

:wave2: Hey, fellow TLTK's.

Tinker'n'Fun,

I can understand your feelings about the itinerary. Sounds like your DD is going to have fun marching down Main Street. I don't have any kids but I imagine that it must be hard for you, seeing your trips change with time as your DD gets older.

Here's to hoping you get the flight you want and can go ahead with your plans to enjoy 2 days with your family. :tinker:

My only good news is part of our crowded office is moving tomorrow to their remodeled half along with miss chatty-I'm-always-a-victim. Our group has to wait another month but in blessed, peaceful, quiet......

:cheer2: :dance3:

Hello TKer's!

I have been out *gasp!* shopping again! No 'real' deals, but I am trying to finish up Easter for DD. Hopefully, my trip to Wal-Mart tonight will do the trick! (If not, then there is always Target tomorrow!) ;)

Vivianne-good luck on the office move. DH always hates it when that time comes around. Enjoy the sound of silence in the meantime, though! :goodvibes

Tinker-n-Fun-It is SO frustrating to have to abide by someone else's itinerary! I can completely relate! However, this is a GREAT experience for your DD, so enjoy it! My DB is a H.S. Band Director and has had the chance (in college) to march in some pretty impressive places: the Macy's T-giving parade, the Rose Bowl parade, Disneyland, etc. He LOVES doing that stuff! Just know that she is making once-in-a-lifetime memories and try to go with the flow!

Hugs to all my thread buddies today!

Thanks for the encouragement, today is a bit better.. Still worried about the inaugural day parade, just cant get past the terrorism phobia... I know anything can happen anytime, but I don't want to tempt fate:confused3.

Almost a 24hr kill, I think I may have done it.:thumbsup2 .:thumbsup2 . well I am off to try and find clothes... I must be shaped really weird. (Oh and I am getting fitted for a bra tomorrow)

How is Kohl's for clothes/sizing do to the fact I am not really a size?? It's different every other store and some stores I can not find a size if my life depended on it...

I have never used Kohl's for sizing. I think they move their employees around from dept. to dept., so they may not be real accurate. Yeah, I know it's not rocket science, but you still want someone with experience! Maybe go to a "real" dept. store and use someone there. :confused3 Or try Kohl's and if you aren't satisfied with the info/sizing, try someplace else.

Something else to watch out for: I am a 40B and it is EXTREMELY difficult to find. I have had several people (store employees, etc.) who tell me that I "can wear a 38C because it is essentially the same thing." Actually, it's not and I cannot wear the 38C because the cups look lumpy under my shirts. So, make sure you are comfortable and not just following their advice because they don't always know what they are talking about! ;)

No new budget stuff today. I went to Wal-Mart last night in search of a specific item for DD's (Eggs filled with the Backyardigans figurines) and wouldn't you know it--that Wal-Mart didn't have them! So, now I will have DH drop me by the front of the other Wal-Mart where I first saw them so that I can run in and get them without the eagle eyes of DD who notices EVERYTHING that goes in the cart and on the conveyer belt at check out! :3dglasses

Just had to chime in and commiserate -- MNMommy I'm a 38B, and the clerks just don't get it at all. Sigh. I need to lose my way into a 36B, and then the bra world would be my oyster! :rotfl2:

Sorry about being so vague in the original post:laughing:, I fixed it. I am going to BonTon, Macy's, or Victoria's Secret for the fitting. But I need to know how Kohl's clothes fit since I must be the most ill-shaped person out there;)

you are sooooo right!!
do you know VS associates are told that too? :sad2:
i tried out their theory during the VS SAS sale, when all the bras i wanted were in the "other" size (basically, 36D is same as 38C & 34DD).....no, C is C, & D is D....36 inches is not 34" or 38".
might make more sales for them, but imho, not a pretty sight
tinkerfun ~ def try VS for bras, tho. i was amazed at how much better my clothes look since i've totally converted to the VS secret embrace. i think there is a current $10 off and free panty coupon. lmk if you want the link.

when is the parade? i like your idea of getting a few days of family fun in there:thumbsup2 .
btw, watching your kids grow up is bittersweet (mine are 19yo DS & 23yo DD). i enjoyed each stage, & seeing them now as "real people" instead of just an extension of ourselves is a bit unsettling, but absolutely wonderful at the same time (we're still very close, and have evolved into a loving parental/child, with a hefty dose of friendship kind of thing..same as i have with my own parents. we don't just love one another, we really like each other too). btw, just DD & i went to WDW last year, & we had such an incredible time, hanging out at pleasure island, outlet shopping :woohoo: , lots of time in WS, stopping everything we saw "ooooo...sparklies":lmao: ; basically doing all the stuff that drive DH & DS crazy.

DD will be performing before the 3pm parade on April 15th. which is a Tuesday. From what I understand they start at Frontierland, circle around the Castle, and finish at Town Square. So if anyone is going to be at Magic Kingdom that day, please come see her!! (She row #3 of the dancers..) Dancers are in black and silver and the band is in green/black watch plaid...

Everybody! Hope all is well.

Just checking in on my way to killin a few threads.

Oh, I went to the dark side and watched The Bee Movie on DVD.

Sorry for the fans, but I'm not really a Seinfeld show fan. I watched a few shows and never got into it. However, I really like this movie. What a cute story.

Budget related: I didn't buy anything....soon...I'll only be able to afford gas for my car.

Budget related - Macy's - picked up 3 shirts for Disney all marked way down, so $17.00 for the 3 and my mom gave me a $10.00 off coupon - so 3 for $7.00

Well I got sized and when I tell you I am just this odd ball shaped person I was not lying... So the nice person sizes me for the bra, and kind of looks at me. Pulled the measuring tape a little tighter, then a little looser...

Does the other measurement.....

So here are the results.... I am a perfect 37  just over a C cup but on the the low side of a D cup:scared1: ... For the love of bunnies... What are you suppose to do...

So I bought one bra at Victoria's Secret and probably paid more than I have for my last 5 bras... The 38 I had to use the last clasp and if it stretched I would have been done.. The 36 is slightly tight on the 1st. clasp but I know it will stretch. The C cup was running over and the D cup is about 3/4 full....

D cup it was as I didn't like the over the edge look...:lmao: :lmao:. Okay enough said for today... So is anyone else a 37C1/2cup?? If so what bra's do you think are the best??

A bit OT--check out the "Want to know more about the Tag Fairy" thread on the community board. The TF is tagging left and right in there! Not me, per se, but lots of other tagless folks! It's worth a shot, right? :confused3

Oh, T'n'F (I hope it's okay if I call you that!)--try a Bali bra. They tend to fit the 'weirder' sizes better than most, even those lop-sided gals! ;)

:wave2: Hi everybody! I'm home today although I'm spending most of my time cleaning.

That's a nice deal, I wish I had a Macy's closer to me. I'm sorry I can't help on the bra issue. I am, what shall we say, not worthy of mention size.

MNFootballMommy,

That's nice of you. I'll check it out...but I doubt the tag fairy will pay attention to me....To be fair, I haven't been posting anything tag worthy. When I got a reaction from other posters, no tag.

I think your tag worthy:thumbsup2 , so my job tonight after the kiddies go to bed:rolleyes1 is to find you a tag... Come back tomorrow and I will have one for you... I'm not a real tag fairy:wizard: but sometimes Mom's can pull out miracles:angel:, but just in black and white.. So your tag won't have any color...:artist:.

To my friend Vivianne:

A tag for you...

Secretly knows why Donald Duck:donald: doesn't wear pants in the shower!

VIVIANNE! Why didn't you show up?? You SO need to visit that thread, offer up some chocolates and margaritas and say something "oh so witty!" See, I got ANOTHER tag today! Not as 'interesting' as my first one, I don't think, but I will NOT be complaining! Best get your buns over there, girlie!

I would need to read a little more to do it any justice. It's almost like walking in the middle of a conversation. I went back to cleaning and cooking drudgery...Now the pressure is on......

Now, I'm watching the Beowulf movie....kind of strange...:magnify:

Hi TLTK's :wave2:
