Hi!!! I'm back.....with pics!

Hi everyone!. We got back late last night and spent most of today unpacking and doing laundry !!!. I started to go through some of the 4500 pictures that I took during our two weeks of magic! It was really hot and I was sick most of the trip (Ohana90 can vouch for that!!) but it was still wonderful!

On our first day I was reminded once again why Disney World is the most magical place on Earth. We were lined up to see the Block Party Bash at DHS. We were in the handicapped area, so there was a CM stationed right in our area. It turned out to be an Imagineer/Graphic Artist for Disney and he drew some really cool pictures in DD's autograph book and really went out of is way to entertain the kids as we waited. It was really hot that afternoon. Due the meds that my son takes, he is prone to nose bleeds. Well, just as the parade came to our area, DS got a BAD nosebleed. DD was dancing and really enjoying the parade, so DH and I decided to pull DS away from the parade and DH went with him and was to stay with DD. Well our Imagineer CM friend noticed right away what was going on and jumped right in and called for more help. There were 4 CM's there in less than a minute helping DH get DS to an air conditioned area to bring his temp down and providing him with wet towels and water to drink. One on the CM's even went back and forth to give me updates on how DS was doing so we wouldn't have to pull DD from the parade. When DH came back and few minutes later, he handed me a slip of paper. It was a voucher for a free shirt because DS's shirt was bloody. We were so touched that they would do that for us! Life with two autistic children can be challenging. We vacation at Disney because of the Magic and acceptance that we find there.

Welcome Back, Natalie! The pics look great! It seems like you all had a great time! The shirts look awesome! I have a quick question
Your Dh's shirt w/ the madhatter looks like the transfer is larger than a standard 8 1/2 X 11 - What type of transfer is it and what size is it? So far the ones I have for my DH are still somewhat small looking even sized to fit the entire transfer- My DH is a big guy- would love to know your secret!

I had DH and DS's (both wear XL) shirt's printed through Vista Print. I just uploaded the design and had it printed on a gray tshirt.

Wow! it is so great to hear stories like that and see that people still care about others. I am so sorry to hear you were sick, i hope it didn't spoil your time. how awesome to get to be there for such a long time, i bet it was wonderful. i don't think you would ever be ready to come home no matter how long you are there. welcome back and i'll let you recover from your trip before i start requesting disigns. take care!!

I really admire the way you seem to cope with the blessings your special children have brought your way.
I know how much life can take out of you when you have a special child. My DS is now 23 and lives in a supervised house (he has Down's and autism). Although we see him a lot, I don't think I will ever get over the guilt of not still caring for him at home. He was cared for at home until he was 19 but it began to take it's toll on everybody (health and relationship wise), even DS. The decision was made to allow him to try living independantly and it seems to have worked and he is very happy!!! However, I don't think I'll ever really get over the sense of guilt I feel that he no longer lives at home. I know he has as much right as any other 23 year old to live independantly of his parents, but, boy, it's the hardest decision I ever had to make. He has accompanied us to WDW several times and always had a blast!!! He adores all the rides. The faster the better for him!!!
I hope you are feeling better now and your magic was affected too much by the sickness.

My goodness your pictures are FANTASTIC! The kids really look like they were having a blast! Soo sorry to hear you were unwell throughout your holiday but you didn't seem to let it stop you having a ball so thats the main thing.

How kind are the CM's? That is such a lovely story to hear - makes me realise this holiday will be the right type for our kids as there seems to be plenty of support if you need it!

All your t-shirts and outfits look AMAZING! You have done your kids soo proud and made some really magical memories for them.

So glad to have you back with us - I think it safe to say we have missed all your wonderful creations!

I hope you are feeling much better now but I'm so sorry to hear you were sick for so long at Disney. Kudos to the CMs for being so helpful and nice at the Studios. It sure looks like your DD was having a ball - I'm happy she didn't have to miss that opportunity. I'm really glad they took such good care of your DS to help you out!

Your pictures are great and your family looks like they had a wonderful time! All of their t-shirts are amazing. I hope they got y'all LOTS of attention!

Yeahhhhh, but I am sad for you also. You were sick and now you have to be in PA,not in WDW.
So anyway, it has been quiet here without you. A few new DISigners have appeared and are doing great work. I broke my ankle so I have been sitting at home for the last few days trolling the boards and DISigning. I go back to work tomorrow.
WDW is wonderful with children with Special Needs, It is also one of the reasons I love it so much.
I am glad you had a good time. Now, when's your next trip????
