I even have a plan!
I met the most amazing man yesterday. And no, I am not going to leave my DH for him, but he is truly amazing.
He is a personal trainer and registered dietician.
He sat down with me and I filled out all these questionairres and he measured my body fat. Then he made lists of 1)my favorite foods 2) what I eat every day 3) what I would eat under certain circumstances. Then he made a few substitutions, but for the most part, made up a personalized eating plan based on the foods I usually eat anyway. I followed it yesterday and so far today and I can just tell it is going to be perfect.
We meet tomorrow to work up an exercise plan. Then once a week for six weeks, then in three months, then in six months and he said I should be at my goal in 6 months and we do a maintenance plan.
This was kind of expensive, but SOOOO worth it. I wish I had done it a long time ago. I justified it to steve that if your car was broken, you wouldn't hesitate to spend money to repair it or for maintenance, and it only has to last 10 years. This is my body that has to last the rest of my life.
Anyway, I will keep you posted on how it works!
I have been resigned to being overweight for so long, and I am finally excited about a plan that I think will work for me.
So, right now I am 5'6" and weigh 171 pounds. My goal is to lose 50lbs by my birthday in March and be 121. Just in time for my trip to Disneyland!!

So, you say that you are serious THIS time???? Hmmm, I don't like that attitude. I really believe that you were ALWAYS serious with wanting to get healthy ---- you just didn't have the tools that you needed to help you along the way. It sounds like your new 'man' is going to be giving you good guidance!
