I got my financing papers today!!! My DVC purchase has officially closed!! Woo Hooo!!!! Pour the wine and pass the cheesecake girls!!

I'm so Happy today!!


AND as an unexpected added bonus..... I also recieved, in the mail, today...a check from my mortgage company Apparently they overestimated my escrow for the year... so they refunded me $127!!!

I'm saving it for WDW!! I'm gonna buy myself stuff with it I don't know what yet...but something(s)!! I may need to go look at those purses in Italy

Tom and I woke up at 4am today to the sound of a muffled crash. We both figued Kyle fell out of bed....again. Apparently he's getting too big for a twin and falls out at least once a week

So Tom went to make sure he was OK, and I rolled over to fall back to sleep. I was in a nice drowsy state, when Tom's pager went off. Hmmmm, guess he's staying up

So the dispatcher comes over the pager...."tree and wires down on R***s* Ave between 1st and 2nd street. thats my street...and I live between 1st and 2nd AND we have almost all the trees in our yard

So, I get up and go outside... sure enough it's one of our trees.... Annd where did it land??? On top of my car Great!! I'm supposed to leave for Allentown tomarrow for a gymnastics meet!! I have no back windows... my car is covered in ice and it's dark..so I'm not sure how many dents and scratches are there as well. I've tried calling the insurance company...but I keep getting left on hold forever....maybe I'm not the only one with a squished car this morning!!

Tom was impressed that I wasn't too upset about it all. I really love my car...it's only a year and a half old. It's a Toyota Prius. But on the plus side... our insurance doesn't charge a deductible for an "act of God" like trees falling on you, or deer running out and hitting you, or ice kicking up from the car in fromt of you and cracking your windshield.... yep all the things that Tom and I have done in the last year

I'm just bummed that I'll have to cancel our Family portrait scheduled for Sat AM... and find someone to ride with for the meet..... what a hassle!!

Me too... we are always running with the girls and I always park in the same place (in the winter) so thank goodness it happened during the night...and not when we were in/getting in or out of the car!!

I was on the phone with the insurance guy over an hour this morning... now I just need to find out which garage to take it to and have my poor baby towed Fortunately, my grandma (who hasn't driven in months) graciously offered her car to me to use while mine is indisposed. Ain't she swell!!

Oh Paula!!!! As LL said I'm glad you are having a positive outlook on all of this!!! At least it was the car and not your house...I hope you'll be able to get speedy response from your insurance company. And good luck at the meet tomorrow!

I had a car of mine totaled when it was parked on the side of the road. Someone crashed into it. It was awful, so I feel your pain about "losing" your car suddenly. I had been in my car 2 minutes before and I had been listening to a song and was going to wait for it to finish but I decided to go into work before it ended. Thank goodness I did. As soon as I walked into the building someone was coming out saying a car was hit...and it was mine. Very scary!

I am so glad that you have a car that you can use!

OMG Paula that's terrible!! I'm so sorry!! But, your right thank god it happened at night and no one was hurt! Thank god the tree didn't hit your house!!! I'm so glad you grandma offered her car to you so your not completely scrambling!!!

The here is completely wacky too! I got up at around 5 this morning and it was pouring like holy heck and soooo windy. I was in the living room and heard this crash (sounds familiar) the poor dog just about had a heart attack! I was affraid to look. I thought maybe one of the trees in our back yard came down. No, a gust of wind hit our deck just right and up ended the grill!!! It was laying on one end!!!

Sorry about your car! At least you weren't IN it! And on your DVC closing! That's so awesome. Did you know you're now in the the real estate records of Orange County in FL? How awesome is that? There's a link somewhere you can look up records, I'll have to get it to you, remind me.

Holy crap, i'm away from the boards for a few days and a tree falls on your car!

i'm glad it was during the night so that no one but your car was hurt, but it's still a big deal and so stressful - the kind of stress you sure don't need this close to Christmas (or ever really). Luckily you've got WDW in February to look forward to - and your DVC stuff to celebrate!

We did finally book our ADRs-probably about a week ago or so, I can't recall what day. We were able to get everything we wanted, and at times we wanted!

Congratulations on the DVC (again) and on the money coming back from your escrow! We got that last year and the year before, but so far nothing this year....maybe it's just still coming in the mail.

HOLY SMOKES about your car!!!!!!!! How very scary! I'm glad to hear the insurance company is good about it-and that is so sweet of your Grandma to loan her car.

I'm with you on the "Winter Wonderland...my butt!", today in Minnesota it's raining and it freezes to ice almost immediatly! Ick.

Cancelled the trip last night. Long story short.... You already know about my car getting squished. Well yesterday DH went to get the mail (we don't have home delivery in our town...so he went to the post office). On the way home the brakes went out of his truck... and what did he hit??? That same danged tree that split and fell on my car I now officially hate that tree!!

Anyway, the truck (and Tom) are fine... he wasn't going fast and the tree was already softened up from splitting last week. BUT now we have to pay for rental cars AND repairs to DH truck. I can't justify my selfishness, when once it is all said and done...I STILL need to buy heating oil, and all the car stuff is going to seriously strain my savings

OH well... at least I still have July.... and November... and the Gnome Trip in 2010 to plan
