HI Ho! Hi Ho! it's back to WDW I go!! a PTR! *completed*

Faireprincess (Sare) had won this caption contest over on the photography boards, and asked if she could borrow the "giraffe behind the tree" pic from my TR. So I just had to check it out... and start playing:rolleyes1 It's witty...you're witty, I'm sure you need yet ANOTHER place to lurk on the boards!!

He's the link... Since I was last weeks winner, I got to post the new pic for this week... I used the gorilla with his blankie one. The captions they've come up with already are hilarious!! All you need to do to get in on the game is post a caption to the current photo:goodvibes

Game: Disney Caption Contest

Paula

Congratulations! I will have to check that out. I love your gorilla w/ the blankie photo. I just think that's the cutest thing that Mr. Gorilla has a blankie!

Hey- you're under 2 months for your trip!! :cool1:

Congrats on winning Paula!! That is so awesome!! Heading over to look at the new pic for the week.

Congrats!!! I love your caption!!! I'm trying to think of one for your gorilla picture!

Well I wrote a nice long post yesterday... then it disappeared:headache: How exactly does that happen anyway:confused3

I called DVC member services yesterday...to give them my flight numbers:cool1: I love the convenience of using ME. It has always worked out nice for me. I found out in October, that Disney contracts ME out to Mears. That sorta suprised me, since the service is certainally better than I've had with Mears directly.

I'm considering making a radical itinerary change:rolleyes1

I'm thinking I might enjoy a day at Universal or Sea World. Iknow I know...where did this thought come from???? No clue:lmao: Just popped into my head...out of the blue. Well maybe not the blue, it was mentioned on the Gnome place like WDW trip thread, but now it has me thinking. I also would need to figure out the logistics of doing something like that, since I don't have a car available... yet anyway.

If I decide to do something offsite..it'll be on Thursday. Currently that's my AM Epcot PM Wishes day. If I do it...then Wishes will be yet another itinerary casualtiy:sad2: Now that I think of that... I'm less inclined to wander off.

I feel sorta like I shouldn't have done a PTR this time... I really have no plans:confused3 Wierd huh?? I plan to relax and eat. Thats about it. I'm going to go to the parks, of course, but there's not much of anything that is a "must do" this trip. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to be sure to catch Fantasmic and Soarin...since I did miss them in October.... but I don't really have a plan...a mission so to speak!!

I'm thinking about doing a "photo project." I was thinking about looking for giraffes..or turtles at the different parks, in restaurants, shops, etc and photographing them...just to see how many I can find. What do you all think?? Any ideas for a photo project??? Speaking of photos... I'm searching for a tripod. I want to take some nitetime pics...better ones than the last time....so I'm currently doing some research on that.

I've also been giving some thought to packing. I decided that since this is a "free trip" I'm not gonna buy much as far as souvies go...a few pins, but thats about it. So I will not need much "extra space" in my suitcase for them. I'm seriously thinking of trying to go with a carryon only:scared1: That goes against my grain... but I think I may be able to do it. I'm going to wear layers on the plane... tshirt/sweatshirt/jeans. I'm only going for 4 nights, so I won't need much jammies or changes of clothes. When I went this past Feb...I wore jeans all week, so I know I can forgo the swimsuit and stuff!! I'm thinking besides what I'm wearing down... I can take 4 tops and 2-3 pair bottoms, 2 jammies, and easily fit my toiletries in a quart bag, cause I won't need much... I think my Vera Weekender (in Kensington:thumbsup2 ) will make a nice roomy carryon bag.

I think the idea of a photo project would be cool!

I want to get back to Sea World too, I've been four times. I don't know when I will go again. It seems like a hassle to get there when you don't rent a car.

The last time I was at FL Seaworld was for the national cheerleading championships... in 1988:rotfl: How's that for dating myself:goodvibes

We lived in Cleveland for several years and had AP for SeaWorld Ohio... but it closed down years ago. I miss it.

The cancelled june 08 trip... I had SeaWorld tickets. I still do. They expire in April 09... so I could go there and just figure out the transportation thing:confused3

Any suggestions for my "project"??

I know when I stayed offsite and booked our trip through expedia, we were able to select a shuttle service for our sea world day. I can't remember who it was from but I bet Disney could even suggest a service when you get down there. They must be used to people asking. If you have the tickets it sounds like a good idea.

Hmmm....for your photo project. I like the idea of animal. What about frogs, zebras or rabbits? I don't know. My favorite animal are rabbits. Do you want it to be an animal or anything?

It could be anything... My favorite animals are giraffes (obviously...i am one in my siggie:rotfl: ) and turtles.... But I'm open to non-character non animal things too.

Don't worry..I'll be sure to take some light pics for you too:goodvibes I'm actually going to try to get into the AKV preview rooms... they have elephant lights in the kitchen... very cool, I shoulda took pics when I was there:lmao:

Paula

Hmmm I did a little looking over on the transportation boards Lynx is a public bus... it stops at DTD westside (walking distance from SSR) and the next stop is the parking lot at Seaworld!! $1.75 each way.

I have the ticket already... $3.50 to spend the day at seaworld.... I'll definately need to noodle that one!!

Paula

I think a day at either SeaWorld or Universal would be nice. Particularly if you are struggling to fill up your days at the world. Does the transportation board give a review of that bus service? I guess I'd be a little nervous about public transportation outside of WDW but certainly these boards will give you the full scoop!

I think a photo project sounds fun too. I was going to suggest light fixtures but you haven't forgotten them. Try the giraffe... that was the first thing that popped in your head and is meaningful to you (since you are one in your siggie!). I bet we'll be surprised to know how many giraffes there are in the World!

I am glad you did a PTR!! :)

They seem to think that it's pretty decent... if I decide to go that route..it will be daylight hours only. I wouldn't go after dark. I think SW closes at 6 anyway. I used the public busses in Cancun.... how much worse can they be in Orlando:laughing:

Maybe I'll do giraffes AND turtles... I bet there are more than expected... it would be a little like a scavenger hunt:thumbsup2

I'm not worried about filling my days with Disney... I certainally can... I was just bouncing ideas off you all... thinking "what if" and "what about" ya know???

I rode the public buses in Cancun too! :scared1: OT story, if you'll indulge me. I went in college with a boyfriend and a huge group of friends. Anyway somehow it ended up being just me and my beau and some random woman on the bus going home. She was in rough shape after a big night of drinking. Anyway the driver also had a buddy on board. My beau and I each had basic Spanish knowledge and realized that the driver and his buddy were telling the girl that either they couldn't get to her resort or she'd missed or stop (memory fading). :scared1: Anyway they were up to no good so we were good citizens and got her to her hotel (thankfully she could tell us what it was!)

I'm sure the buses in Orlando will be fine! :goodvibes

I have no doubts you can fill your days in Disney!! Goodness knows all you have to do is give me a television, computer or Twilight book and my day is full! But if you're not feeling especially excited about a certain portion of your itinerary then maybe you can jazz it up. Or save Universal for the Gnome Place trip in 2010 when Harry Potter opens. :woohoo: I might also be persuaded to go to Sea World then too. :rolleyes1

Wow!! Yau are such a swell person!! The Marcettes will need someone like you to make sure everyone gets home safely:rotfl: My favorite part is how the drivers don't STOP...you're supposed to hop on and off while its still rolling... thank goodness I WASN'T drinking ....much!!!

I missed that you were into Twilight...loved them myself:goodvibes A friend and I went to see the new film and wore T-shirts

We each had one with our names...we are such geeks:lmao:
M_I_C_K_E_Y over on the DISigns thread made it... I wish I were so talented:laughing:

I know that we will be going to some offsite places in July... DS is the one who doesn't really care for WDW:sad2: I think he was switched at birth...can't believe he's miine:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 But I know he wants to do SeaWorld... and I think we're gonna work in a beach day and Kennedy Space Center too on that trip. I'm still toying with ideas. Both DS and DH are pretty gungho about the Kennedy thing...plus there's supposed to be a Launch that week...so the shuttle will be on the pad. Pretty cool. I was a space geek as a kid... kinda got out of it as I aged, but still find it facinating. DS loved the Air & Space Museum in DC over this past summer...so I think that it will be worth the day trip:thumbsup2

Love your t-shirt. I am newly into the Twilight series. Finished the 1st book and am mid-way through the 2nd. Not sure yet if I am Team Edward or Jacob. :confused3 Leaning heavily Edward (hello bad boy obsession).

Your plans in July sound fun. Do you remember the Space Camp movie from the 80's? I watched that over and over. TOTAL NERD here. :rolleyes1

I'm totally...Team Edward:lovestruc But I was in love with Angel... and Spike WAYYYYYY before Edward came into the light:love:

I guess I just have a thing for hottie vampires:rotfl:

I loved that Space Camp movie!! I forgot all about it, I'm glad you mentioned it:goodvibes

We did a couple days at SeaWorld in June (FYI, tickets are buy one day, get a second within 1 week for free, you just have to get your second day ticket at the window to the left as you pass through the turnstiles)

We enjoyed it, much more relaxed pace than Disney. We had to see the Shamu show 3 times because DS HAD to get splashed. They also have a cirque du Soleil (?sp) type show that I have heard is excellent, I unfortunately missed it because naptime went long :guilty: and because the young ones wanted to spent a lot of time in the play area of the park

They do have an evening fireworks show but it pales in comparison to WDW (of course!) so going for a few hours on a morning or afternoon could be a fun way to spend some time.

I LOVE youe Twilight tee design!! I have the book waiting to be read and I promised myself I wouldn't see the movie until I read the book! My 13 year niece loves the series and would be so happy if I loved it too. Of course reading may cutdown on my Dis time! :lmao:

I think a photo project would be so cool!! Maybe hidden mickey's! Or I've seen a list on another site of "hidden treasures" you could hunt them out and take pictures!! You could have a hidde treasures of WDW scrapbook!!

We're going to do Sea World some day!! DD loves animals, especially dolphins and whales. We keep talking about it and then she realizes it means one less day at WDW. The she gives me "Well..... maybe another time!" LOL!!! My girl!! We were goingto go the Bahamas in Oct to Atlantis for one of DH's sailing things. DD and I were going to do the dolphin experience thingy that they do. But, DH decided to not go! :sad2: Oh well!!

Paula, I love your Twilight Tees. How cute! I love Edward. :cloud9:

I think using the bus to get to Sea World is a great idea. :thumbsup2 Do they have a bus for Universal, you know for the Gnomes in 2010?

I'll have to check into it RE Universal..... I know they said you can go from TTC to Seaworld and there's also one thaat goes to the outlets and Florida mall. I bookmarked the Lynx website...so I'll do a little investigating:thumbsup2

I can't wait to check out Harry Potter.... did anyone find an extimated opening date yet???

BTW... did you read the 1st 260 pages or so of Midnite Sun, on Stephanie Meyers homepage???? I liked it better than the "original" Twilight... I loved hearing Edwards perspective...can't wait til she gets around to publishing it
Paula

Oooooo!! I like the "hidden treasures" idea... I may need to go refresh myself on that list... I've seen it before, but it's been a long time:goodvibes I was thinking of doing a special scrapbook.... I have about 250 WDW pages between them all.... and so many look similar. This would be a "specialty book":thumbsup2 I did a special album (7x7) for the Perfectly Princess Tea, when I took the girls...it's one of my fave books:lovestruc

I was thinking that my DS may enjoy hunting hidden Mickeys...maybe we'll try that in July. He doesn't like most of the rides:sad2:

I don't think I've talked to anyone yet that didn't like Twilight.... well a couple people didn't care for book 4...but I liked it, cause it was totally NOT what I anticipated;) I read...alot. Like 2-4 novels a week. I read fast, thats why I still have so much DIS time:surfweb:
