Great to hear it. Sounds like it was caught in time so no scar tissue was able to develop (on the retina, as opposed to on the implant).
I know - face down s*cks, but it is much better than the alternative: silicone oil instead of gas bubble. That is the absolute worst. You don't have to maintain a face position, but you see absolutely nothing until the oil is removed by another surgery at a later date. Gas + face down is much better for you and your eye.
I could just imagine the jokes with you guys sitting around the studio as you do your restaurant review with the mike sticking up into the face hole of the massage table.
