Yes...it's opening weekend for the public but they do specials for passholders that weekend. I'm always there opening night. ;)

IT’S NEVER TOO SOON TO START PANICKING.
Sept. 25, 26, Oct. 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30 & 31

Once again, your worst nightmares will soon be taking shape in the shadowy darkness of one of the country’s premier annual Halloween events—Universal Orlando® Resort’s Halloween Horror Nights®.

On select nights in September and October, Universal Studios Florida® theme park is transformed into a nightmarish labyrinth of haunted houses, outrageous live shows, and electrifying scare zones while an army of mutants, monsters and maniacs roam the darkened studio streets.

Now in its 19th year, Halloween Horror Nights annually drawing hundreds of thousands of horror fans from around the globe to this one-of-a-kind event. In fact, Tony Timpone, Editor of Fangoria Magazine, said, “After visiting scream parks all across the U.S. for the last 20 years, I can easily say that Universal’s is the best in the business… Halloween Horror Nights is the ultimate Halloween experience.”

This year promises to break new ground by being the most immersive horror experience ever. Every step, every turn takes you into a new realm of fear. In the houses or on the streets, there is nowhere safe and nowhere you can hide. It’s the greatest exhibition of pure terror ever unleashed anywhere, and you can experience it all, LIVE, only at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights.

Once the links get corrected and prices are set in stone, I'll make my annual thread of who is going to HHN on specific nights.

It is a great way to find others that will be going when you are.

Look for my thread around mid month.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

What are the crowds like on the opening weekend?

Opening weekend used to not be so crowded but not anymore. It's been really crowded the last few times. Express is a must.

To someone who asked about Halloween weekend, we actually find going on Halloween or the night before or after to be completely manageable.

What are the crowds like on the opening weekend?
Last year...I spent the $69.99 for the EP and was there early for S & S. We managed to do six houses w/o really needing the EP so I wasted money for it. By the end of the evening, it was really crowded but if you get there for S & S, you should be OK. They were also selling discounted EP's in the holding areas for $15.00 I think...something like that.

Yikes! I think I would have been bumming to know I paid $70 for an EP and then they were selling them for $15. One of those things that you just don't know what may be offered. I couldn't go last year but now remember that the EPs jumped in price. Still worth it at $70 and I wil definitely be buying mine when they come out for opening weekend. They still only sell a limited number, right? I recall they used to selll out. Perhaps with the price increase they didn't sell as many.

yea, i was bummed out also when in the holding area the ep's for the night were going for $15 + a lanyard...............

but that night my ep was not at the highest rate.

I take it they don't normally do this EP offer in the holding areas and that it's just not worth the risk waiting in case they're already sold out?

I was planning on booking them as soon as I can really, and I don't think we'll be there on a premium night at all, so I'm hoping they'll be no more that around the $35 mark if its a $29.99 S&S night....

last year was the first time i experienced UO selling the discounted epp in the holding area.
it was a sweet deal but i prepurchase my Epp's in advance.

after the load of money it takes for my trip, i refuse to cheap out and take the gamble of buying reduced price ep's. it is just not worth it for me to luck out and have the ep's sold out on the nights i need them if i would wait until the day of to buy them. kwim?

non peak nights ep's are cheaper than peak nights. saturday's ep cost more than friday's ep.

i wonder if the reason they were selling the ep's at $15 last year on the non peak night was due to the expectation of higher crowd levels?
it would get more in the express lines and less incidents in the regular lines then...
sunday last year on that columbus day weekend was packed...packed...
and the year before was also on that sunday...

sunday crowds are starting to feel like peak nights.........

Can anyone refresh my memory, will annual passholders be able to purchase the stay and scream tickets online or do they need to phone. Also, any clues when the express passes will go on sale.

Thanks.

they will be able to buy on line.

the ap site for tickets for hhn usually goes up around 2 weeks after the first general sale begins.

someone will post here i'm sure when that will happen.

i'll be using my ap to buy my s&s tixs.....

US did something else weird last year in addition to selling the discounted EPs in the holding pen. Even when the regular EPs were sold out, a couple of times we were able to buy individual EPs that we were able to use for our choice of houses. They weren't much more expensive and I liked them better than a regular EP that allows one visit to each house...it was much cooler to be able to repeat our faves if we wanted. Don't know if they'll do it again this year.

the express passes should be listed within the week for sale..

well, they have prices up but not able to buy yet today
