I have been thinking about buying a resale DVC contract at HHI a lot over the last year. We go to HHI every year with my parents and stay with them and that has been good for 8 years...but now my sister is married and has 2 little ones and wants to go too every year with us. It is starting to get crowded.

My question is:
If we bought DVC at HHI could my sister and her kids ever be day guests and hang out at our pool or use the beach house with us?

I'm almost afraid to ask...:scared:

The resort at HHI is always booked up during the summer, that being said the facilities are for registered guests only, they are not for guest of the guest. It is not "fair" to those of us who spend thousands of dollars to buy points and spend hundreds of dollars on annual dues.

You could just always go out on the beach together. There are no rules that would govern that.

First: we never go in the summer-we go in April. I know that it is always booked up in the summer.

Second: they wouldn't be guests of a guest-they would be guests of an owner.
I HAVE been to other timeshare resorts in which members pay thousands of dollars to buy points and hundreds of dollars in annual dues where the owner IS allowed to register day guests to use the pool facilities with the owner for the day. I was just curious if this ALSO was the policy of DVC.

All you really had to say was something like: this is not the policy of DVC...

Thanks for your kind response.

I would ask at the resort. They may allow it.

Thanks, I'm not trying to do anything offensive-just wondering if anyone knew the policy since I have been the "legally" registered day guest of an owner at a non-DVC resort in the past.

Sure, day guests are welcome at all of the DVC resorts. As long as they are with a guest of the resort they will be fine. (They would not even need to be with an owner - any guest staying at the resort is welcome to have visitors.)

The HH resort is also very generous about welcoming visitors to the resort. Just drive up to the gate, push the call button and let them know you'd like to look around the resort. Unless there is no place to park, they are usually very happy to allow a visit. If they have a clean, unoccupied villa you could even take a tour.

Enjoy your trip! :)

Thanks! Great to know...we may go over when we are there this April and check it out.
