Today I learned that there's a "Gentleman's Club" (that's usually code for a strip club) in Hilton Head. For the first time ever, we went onto the Cross Island Expressway and saw part of Hilton Head we've never seen (on our way to Fish Camp where we ate for the first time). Anyways, I was kind of surprised, I just didn't expect the "town fathers" would approve such a business. If my grandmother were alive, I can hear her now-"Everything's going to Hayks in a hand basket!"

Yeah, it's been there for years. When I wished to take the Cross Island, especially during high traffic times, I'd often circumvent the main roundabout that leads to Sea Pines and Coligny, and cut over by said gentleman's club. Never many vehicles there; then again, it was always daylight when I drove that way.

Coffee Cups …No matter what size villa we have, I always bring the coffee cups from our Dreams Unlimited gift bag that we get from booking cruises with them. I NEED more coffee than what fits in a ceramic mug first thing in the morning, and I don’t want to have to get up and walk over to get it!

It was OK. The food was good and we liked the ambiance-kind of casual. I was about to have the shrimp and polenta until the server mentioned that "it has a little kick to it". Well, I don't like super-spicy food so that scared me off and I ordered something different. But then I thought that when someone says "a little kick to it" where we live, it's probably super hot, but Hilton Head's idea of "a little kick" may be more tame. Have you ever tried it? We may just have to go to Fish Camp again, and I promise I won't chicken out on the shrimp and polenta. I just hope we don't have the same server. She was very friendly when we saw her, which wasn't often,

I agree with you. The K-Cup machine gives you 4 choices of sizes, and if you choose anything except the smallest size (6 oz) and hope to put cream and sugar in your cup, your coffee will most likely overflow.

However, I did leave a note for management on social media. They responded, and as a result, a group celebrating someone's birthday was able to have a $25 reduction on their bill. I'll go back next time I'm there.

Sounds like I need to go back to Fish Camp now and try their Shrimp and Polenta. Although I will say Crazy Crab's Shrimp and Grits was a very good substitute. But I do have an excuse to go back!

Over the years, I've found their shrimp and polenta among the best around. As I mentioned, it was disappointing last time, as was the overall experience. . .and we had brought friends. Off nights happen, though, so we didn't complain; however, I did let the management know later the specifics of the lackluster evening, and they were quite responsive. That's all one can ask.

They're back! There were signs around the resort. There were still a lot of off-site rental bikes around-I think the resort had just started rentals again.

Also- dos anyone have any firsthand experience with Jane’s Bistro- near resort but over near the Kroger (not in Shelter Cove but on Shelter Cove rd). So many of the Shelter Cove restaurants are first come first served… Jane’s was one of few taking Open Table ressies.

And if anyone has the latest activities right now at resort from a recent visit (and tried any of them lol)… please share! We’ve only been on summer… I’m sure it’s a bit “sleepier” this time of year but I’m kinda da excited about that lol!

Yep... I called them... was wondering if I still needed to reserve in advance... but while the 3rd parties they allow onsite do that, Disney doesn't. You arrive... you rent. I kinda prefer the concept that when I arrive, bikes are paid and ready to go... but she assured me it wouldn't be an issue this time of year. Heck for all I know it may turn bitter cold or rainy and I'll hang out at the lodge or some cozy coffee joint most of my days... perhaps it's better this way. We shall soon see!

Where is best place to get groceries near resort these days? I see there is a Krogers nearby... that seems most convenient. But is selection better elsewhere? We definitely plan on doing some cookin' in the villa a few nights. I see a Publix down by Sea Pines... might be worth it if good, but if it gets really crowded and picked over quickly there... no thanks!
