ME! Got a 3br for a family Thanksgiving holiday - they I take off for Orlando for a week at WDW!

In 2021 we had the grand villa in building 19 for the TG week. It was amazing, and cool enough to light the fireplace!
Also behind 2019 there is one of the large gas grills so we were able to do some of our food on that.

We are there this year also, but a much smaller party in a studio. Maybe another grand villa in 2026 or 2027 as the family will be expanded again by then.

I'm also heading for Boardwalk afterwards.

Who is going for Thanksgiving this year?
We are, just as we have for the last 18 years. I can still remember that the first time we went we ordered our Thanksgiving meal at the local Piggly Wiggly, over near where the Kroger is now. Remember that? Then for 16 years, we got it from Signe's (RIP), now from Fresh Market.
I wish the manatees that have been seen recently would hang around, but I don't think the water will be that warm.

We also had a Piggly Wiggly dinner one year! I don't remember which year but I do remember the meal. We had too much food!

We also ordered the resort dinner a couple of times before they stopped doing it.

Whole Foods took over the Piggly Wiggly location and I just looked them up on google and they've closed.

I was surprised to see the Manatee pics as I've been going since 1997 and had never seen one there. I'll be taking a walk all around just in case!

Just noticed that dhhir will be getting more refurb work:
Pools in jan/feb 2025
Exterior in sept+ 2025/2026

Interesting that the hot tub and kiddie pool will stay open?

The resort dinner being cooked. Who recognizes the CM's bum?

WAIT - WHAT! We can get a traditional meal at the resort? We ordered ours from Fresh Market but if they’re going to have everything cooked at the resort - we may change our plans….

Could be wrong, but that looks like a picture from 20 years ago or so...

Actually, that was 15 years ago, but they did discontinue the resort offering about 6-8 years ago.
TCRAIG, we also have ordered our meal from Fresh Market, and for us it's the second year in a row. We were pleased last year, and especially pleased with how well organized pick-up was.

Thanks for the reassurance - hoping to meet more ‘DVC’ family on turkey day.

CM's backside? Maybe Chef Gordon?

The resort Thanksgiving dinner was something we enjoyed a few times. You would smell it cooking all day all over the resort and the staff put a huge effort into it.

Also the seafood boils. They were served buffet style outside near the movie area. All kinds of picnic tables full of hungry people!

I checked out Fresh Market and since I won't have an oven we passed.
We then ordered from Sproutmomma, which used to be Signe's location. We are picking up fairly early and will have our actual dinner in the days before the actual holiday since again, we didn't have an oven/kitchen.

So after I made all the orders/plans, DD said she could bring her cooker which is small and functions as an oven. Decided to stay with my plan which entails no cooking and just serving and eating.

Can't wait!

Somebody recognized it! Actually I'd posted that picture on Facebook, and I didn't know who it was. But Gordon "fessed up".

I've also got some of those pictures floating around, but it was really a lucky guess. At that time he was fairly ubiquitous at HH.

I have been searching for information regarding the refurbished rooms at HHI. Were all the rooms refurbished, including studios? If so, do the studios have a murphy bed and a queen bed? My 7 month booking window is coming up and I am trying to figure out if a studio will work for my adult son and me for a long weekend trip.

We just stayed in a studio @ DHHIR two weeks ago. I believe all the rooms have been refurbed, at least ours was. The room had a queen and a murphy bed.

Yes, they are all refurbed, including studios.
Yes, they have a queen and murphy bed.

And yes, they should work fine for 2 adults. These studios are large and comfortable with a nice kitchenette including a Keurig duo for full pots or single pods. Studios also have a balcony.

Yes! I was planning to go in sept/oct 2025 and now I’m reconsidering. Does anyone know what they’re doing?
