I want to know about 2025 cash reservations, too! We booked an October reservation this year on cash instead of using our points. We have a points reservation for March right now, but I want to compare it to the cash price. Wish they would hurry up and release them already!

If you find a cash night in your current size room, you can look forward on cash rates until nov 2025. If you need help, let me know.

I think either you or someone else told me that, but I forgot. Why is it that spring rates are higher than fall??? This sure makes me want an April UY instead of a June UY so I can use my points in the spring and pay cash in the fall.

Considering visiting for the first time either early April or next Labor day. Will hopefully be using points. (Will get my resale contract in November.) What is better? We are a family of 4 with a 5yo and 2yo who will want to be in the pool a lot.

Points will be the same and the pools are heated but I would pick September as it will be warmer than April.

We have visited dhhir at both times and enjoy both.
Just a heads up the heritage is in april. September is hurricane season.
We have swam at both times and enjoy.

My vote would be Labor Day. It will be warmer than the first of April.

Considering the Heritage, the possibility of Easter, and the fact that Massachusetts has a spring break in April, you may have better luck getting a room in September.

Next DHHIR trip for us is 11/2.

Will it be fall or christmas decorations?

Based solely on our one experience two years ago I'd say fall. We arrived the Friday before Thanksgiving and there were no Christmas decorations. However they started going up at the resort and throughout Shelter Cove over that weekend. By Monday of Thanksgiving week it was all Christmas. It was fun watching the transformation.

That sounds cool!
We saw DHHIR start taking down the christmas decorations one year on new years day.
Apparently Disney keeps the decorations for DHHIR in FL and has to drive them up and back yearly!

Agree with Pens Fan. As you mentioned, the decorations are hauled to and from FL each year, so the pattern (around Thanksgiving) is fairly well established by WDW not the mgmt team at HHI. One year after the decorations went down and the truck to FL had pulled away, I found garland still wrapped around one of the light poles on property. It came off but we had to store it for a time since no trucks were headed back our way. pirate:

Haven't been to DHHIR in a long time. We are on our way there now for 2 nights. Do they text you room ready like at WDW with room #? Haven't gotten any text yet and it's 4.25. Also, can we use bands to open gate and room door? Thirdly, can we use Disney Chase rewards card in shop and at food counter? Lastly, was the resort recently renovated and is it completed? Thanks!

I can answer 2 questions for you....

Yes, you can use Disney Visa rewards anywhere at the resort.
Yes, there was recently a renovation and it was completed earlier this year.

Enjoy your trip :cool2: .

Thanks. Am here now in building 12. I like the renovations. The old rooms were dark. And lots more storage now. And always love the flip down murphy bed. Oh, and really happy about the Keurig.

We didn't get room ready text and arrived at 9pm. As I stood at the desk checking in, I got the text. Guessing bands don't work as we got key cards.

Minimal damage at dhhir after helene.
At the resort for the night due to no power at home.
Worse here in southwest Virginia. No power since early morning Thursday. None expected until Tuesday. New River crested at 22 feet when flood stage is 9+ feet. Water in nearby town of Galax has boil water or bottled water only order. Roads and bridges washed out. Not as bad as Asheville or Chimney Rock, but darn severe for the mountains. HHI sounds pretty good right about now. pirate:
