We'll be there with our DD15 and DS10. They had an awesome time last Thanksgiving and last Christmas. Both found some kids to hang out with and DD still has 2 pen pals from the Christmas week trip. DH is looking forward to golfing there again and is looking for some other golfers. Any takers?
Me? I am looking forward to some quiet time in an adirondack rocker with a good book, meeting and renewing acquaintances with fellow DISers, and cooking a wonderful turkey dinner for my family.

Hi Keenercam!
We will be on the Nov 8th Disney Cruise, so don't think Thanksgiving at HHI this year is possible. I would love to do it though--HHI is great for holiday family gatherings.
Wishing you and your family a "Happy Thanksgiving" at HHI.:D

Margaret

We'll be there!!

Me, DW, DD 8, DD 5 plus MIL, FIL for a couple of days. I would love to golf, but don't know for sure that it will fit in the plan for this trip....Hope springs eternal!

Mike

Margaret --
I hope your cruise is fabulous!!! That is the only choice my family MIGHT prefer over HH at this point. Isn't that something?

Mike, If you want to PM me, I could put you in touch with DH about scheduling some golf. Once you schedule it, you can plan the rest of your family's activities around it ;) . I have urged DH to try to get a tee time for Friday and for Saturday, since he hasn't had much opportunity to golf this year, except as a unified partner for Special Olympics. Hopefully, by the time Thanksgiving rolls around, the courses might be a bit drier!

we will be at home at BW for the first time but have fond memories of our HH Thanksgiving. Keeping my fingers crossed for next year though!

We'll be at WDW this Thanksgiving, We go every year :)
We're staying at Grand Floridian on points. It's a long story:(

For next year we might give HH a try. Please make sure you tell us all about your trip!

We'll be there again, Cam! Woo Hoo!! Our 5th Thanksgiving at HH!

Joe and Harry are always up for a game of golf. I'm thinking Friday would probably work the best? We can work out the details...

Looking forward to it -- just hoping that we have a "little" warmer weather than we did last year! :p

Hey, Dottie! Hoping we are starting a tradition of Thanksgiving at HH too, but have to take it one at a time, since we used to go to Pittsburgh every year! Since we spent a week with my in-laws in WDW in August, we don't feel too badly about skipping out on them again this Thanksgiving. We are so psyched to see everyone there, including the Z's! Will Meghan be joining you?

For anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of the Turkey Bowl, nature kayaking, giotaku (sp?), Teen Night and Kids' Night Out (translate "parents' night in" ;) ), anything Gordon has prepared or chosen, the beautiful hot tub at night, walking on the beach, etc. etc., I sincerely recommend it! HH at Thanksgiving is soo wonderful!!! Especially compared to the mobscene we experienced at WDW THanksgiving 2001!!! Last year was a little chilly, but still truly fabulous!!!

Actually, maybe we should keep this as our little secret. I still cannot believe we were able to get a 2BR there without having HH as our home! Hope word doesn't get out about what a great option HH is off-season too!:bounce:

Since this is getting closer, thought I'd look for other DVC DISers who may be there!

Are there only about 5 DIS DVC families? DH is still trying to find soeone interested in golfing on Saturday, 11/29. Anyone interested?
Less than a week!!! So excited, especially now that DD15's best friend will be joining us too!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: Any other teens or boys around 10 years old going to be around looking for some teens to hang out with at Big Murgie's or a buddy to bike and fish with?

Wish there were 6 families! And if DH were there, he'd be out on the golf course with yours. Any excuse to golf for him! We love HH, and our deep, dark secret is that we almost wish our 2 DS's weren't coming home for Thanksgiving some year (one just went out on his own, the other a Junior in college) so we could go to HH. Aren't we awful parents? But we'd love to be there with you. Enjoy!

Simba's Mom -- I know just what you mean. We have actually abandoned both our families in order to go to HH. Fortunately, both our kids are still enthralled with HH and prefer it to WDW!!! Maybe next year our DHs will hit the links together and we will hit the island tour shuttle or the outlets.;)

I got a call today to see what time we wanted our dinner delivered! We're getting excited.

Now, if we could only find a place for our little Maltese in heat while we're gone!

I have been reading your postings about being in HH for Thanksgiving...My family will also spend the holiday at HH...the only difference with our family is that no person is under 28! Myself and my wife are both from PA, my sister and brother-in-law are from FL and my parents are also from PA...we all own DVC and no young kids to speak of...

It just goes to show you that DVC and Disney never grow old...

I hope to run into some of you during the holiday!

Ok, so I'm curious... What is the Dinner being delivered about?

I tried to get DH to consider HH this year for Thanksgiving. But, Noooo! Maybe if I knew more about the Happenings I'd be able to convince him to go next year. Could you give me a little more info on this (dinner thing)???
We did the Disney Cruise on Thanksgiving 1998 with the kiddies. He LOVED that! And still talks about doing it again. Two kids are grown and we just have a teen at home now.
Wishing you all a great time in HH!
Maybe next year!!!

Hi Cam and Dottie!

We'll be there again -- the second year in what we hope to be a very long family tradition!

Looking forward to it!

Cam -- where are we going for dinner?? :p

See you real soon!

Kristen :wave2:

Hi, everyone!
Sorry I have been missing in action. Tied up on a very exciting corporate takeover case and no time to DIS:(
Things are looking calmer and I cannot wait for 4 days at HH. We will be arriving early Wednesday.
Kristen-- I know Howard is looking forward to golfing Friday a.m. and is now putting together a foursome for Saturday a.m. as well -- I am soooo glad he is getting this opportunity to golf as he has mostly been doing it with Special Olympics as a unified partner, and this will, of course, be much different.
We would love to do dinner either Friday night or Saturday night at a place to be decided upon by the group and of course, dependent upon kid activities and availability of our two teen babysitters.
How exciting all of this is!!! I have to find a couple or 3 good novels to get me through the long car rides and all those days of relaxing in a rocking chair!
Can't wait to see everyone!!!
:sunny:

Hi guys - are you doing any sort of meet while you are there? We have just made last minute plans to go to HH on Friday to Sunday.

We should probably try to arrange some time to all get together, don't you think? <G>

The weather is supposed to be gorgeous. What do you think of maybe lunch at Signals (beach house) on Saturday? There are a few kids' activities during the day, but maybe getting together around noon? (Besides, I have to have chicken fingers at least once each trip to HH!)

Dottie

We will also be in HH for Thanksgiving, but not at DVC. :( My mom and dad have a three bedroom at Royal Dunes in Port Royal Plantation. I really can't complain because it is free and we can save our points for another trip. HH is wonderful to finish our Christmas shopping and just relax. Also it is only a little over an hour for my husband to return to his job over the holidays if extra guests arrive at the plantation. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
