When members of your party have a stomach virus. We're here now and dd5 has been sick much of the trip. Not only is she not eating but we can't really sit down and enjoy mealswith herbeing sick either. :(

I feel sick myself thinking how much cheaper oop would have been!/

Oooh so sorry! I've been there myself. A few years ago, I did a solo trip using the DxDDP while I was staying at CSR. It was pouring down rain when I got into Orlando and I was already trying to come down with an upper respiratory infection. I woke up that first night sicker than a dog (fever, chills, sore throat, achy all over) and was ill in bed most of that trip:sick:. I was by myself, sick, far from home, and just wanted to sleep and be left alone. That DxDDP pretty much went to waste that trip.:rotfl: I had a bunch of signature restaurants booked for that trip, so if it had happened now, I would have been out some cc guarantees.

Just FYI: if you keep the Do Not Disturb sign on your door and don't go in and out, housekeeping will come in and check on you about the third day. I know they did me. With my sore throat, I had just been nibbling on some pop tarts and granola I had brought from home, so hadn't gone out. I heard the knock on the door, but knew the Do Not Disturb sign was on the door so just ignored it. I don't know who was more shocked when that housekeeper opened that door, me or her. I know I screamed loud enough to wake the dead.lol As a matter of fact, so did that poor housekeeper.lol She was so sweet, asking if there was anything she could get me. I told her no, but then she came back that evening with the head of housekeeping to check on me and bring me a really cute towel animal and a Mickey head basket full of all kinds of goodies (chips, fresh fruit, candies, cakes, cheese spreads, crackers, etc).

When one chooses the dining plan, one takes the chance, however small it may be, that one or all of the party will end up being unable to eat the meals and use the credits. That's the downside to prepaying.

That was so nice! I love hearing about unexpected Disney magic!

PP, so sorry your DD is sick. Hope she gets better soon. :goodvibes

Have you talked to the Disney guest services or concierge to see if they could convert table credits into counter service credits? Or if there's anything else they could do?
