Hi Washington DC Flyers - I need some help!

We are planning on taking a trip using some flight vouchers we received from a previously bad flight. The catch is that we have to fly out of Washington DC - we usually fly out of Baltimore. We are flying out of DCA - Washington-Reagan Airport.

We are going for 10 days (in January), so we need some place to park that is SECURE (#1 priority), but also cheaper!

Since we are going that long, sometimes it's just as much $$ to stay overnight in a hotel - but we don't have to and would actually prefer just to do whatever is cheapest! Just a great place to park our car and fly out for a long time.

You guys seem to know best - so, any recommendations? Keep in mind SECURITY and INEXPENSIVE!!

Are you talking about finding a secure, inexpensive place to park your car while you're gone? Are you going out of Dulles or National?

Last time we flew from Reagan we just parked in the econo lot. Since you're going in January...I'd maybe recommend putting a small snow shovel in your trunk in case it snows while you're gone. (we've actually had to use one once) The airport only plows the aisles and you might be in a drift if you're not in a garage.

What do you normally do when you fly out of BWI? If you park economy DCA is close to the same as BWI. Another suggestion is to Park at a Metro garage (if allowed to up there) and ride the Metro in. Most of the garages will probably cost the same as the airport, I would think. Maybe park at Pentagon City Mall and then the Metro runs ride under it.

Well, forget the Pentagon City Mall Idea. It's more expensive than the airport!

For BWI, we use Economopark Express. It's an off-sight parking lot for $7 a day and it's been really great! The shuttle takes you to the airport and picks you up. It seems secure enough - we love it!

Just wondering if there was something like that at DCA (Washington-Reagan). Also, we might want to do a park-sleep-fly combo at a local hotel, if there's a good one nearby.

I didn't know where to start and thought you guys might have a reliable place.

Just a warning - parking at DCA is very limited.

Parking is one of those things that keeps me away from DCA. That and no SWA.
