Hey Vera Bradley Hipster fans - to mini or not?

I doubt the mini will be big enough. It doesn't really hold that much comfortably. Cell phone, gum, Zip ID Case with credit cards and ID, chapstick, and maybe a small brush is all I really like to squeeze in there. I can put the camera in for small periods of time, but it makes it heavy and the strap is really thin so it cuts into my shoulder.

I second this. With my phone, wallet, travel sanitizer, and camera I couldn't fit much of anything else in the mini hipster. When we ate at Club 33 didn't want to come across too 'touristy' (as if there are tourists at DL!) so I managed to shove my full pin lanyard and extra pin pouch under the flap but couldn't zip up.

I bought the mini in my favorite pattern, Bali Gold, so I used it even though it was a bit small for the parks.

Ok, I bought it - but here's my plan.

Since I have a stroller, I'll put non valuable items in a backpack and leave it while we go on rides.

I'll use the mini (which I had to buy because, let's face it, it's cute ) for my camera (small), cell phone, and money.

My back pack won't disappear, right?

I went to our Vera Bradley store yesterday and found out the next set of retiring prints - Daisy Daisy, Mediterranean White and Blue, Mosaic, Pinwheel Pink, and Night Owl. Everything in these patterns are 25 percent off in the retail stores, along with some styles that are on sale in EVERY pattern (a few totes, a velcro'd wallet, and a bunch more I forgot.)

The patterns that are retiring are 25% off on the website! It's easy to stay out of the stores, not so easy to stay off the website! The large and small tic tac toe is also on sale in all patterns.

I got an e-mail from Vera Bradley Co. saying I won one of the Bali Gold Island Giveaways. I think it's legit. The e-mail came yesterday. It said they will FedEx me an Affidavit to sign and return to them. I almost didn't enter because I knew I wouldn't win anyway. I never win anything. Maybe my luck is changing. Maybe I'll get a pin code now.

Oops. Sorry. I didn't even realize that the prices in the corner were changing from sale prices to regular prices as I was clicking through the different patterns. Tricky! Guess I spoke too soon after the email. Oh well. Guess that gives me more time to decide on what I want.

DH said that they had VB at Ft. Lewis the last time he was there - and I didn't believe him. Now, I should ask him why he didn't bring one home for me.

My BIL complimented me on my bag (curvy tote in Java Blue) last night - and my 10 y/o pops into the conversation "it's Vera Bradley"... gotta love her - hopefully my girls don't get the bug - or I"ll be in trouble!

I got the Hipster, and feel like it will be a little big (we'll also have a backpack). I wish I had gotten the mini hipster.

I ordered both the Mini Hipster and the Hipster a couple months ago, and I haven't used the Mini but one time. I carry the Hipster 2-3 times a week. Love the size, I can stash a lot in it. But if I didn't have a really big camera, I would probably carry the Mini.

I have the backsack in Kensington and Botanica. I love them both and used them recently on a field trip to the zoo.

I don't know that I'd chose them for the parks because of the thin straps. Like the mini-hipster, if you put too much in there the straps can get annoying after awhile. I had a frozen water bottle and some other essentials in the bag and by the end of the trip ~4 hours later I was glad to take it off.

I didn't have the same issues with the regular hipster due to its thicker strap.

I was never a VB fan myself but then I started reading the DIS and HAD to buy one! Yes, someone said "Enablers"! I agree! No, it can't be MY fault that I want everything I read or see!! I got the hipster and mini hipster in a discontinued pattern a few ago. I gave the hipster a trial run on a trip to Cleveland and what I really liked was how it freed up my hands! Not having to constantly hitch it back up to my shoulder. I will be going to WDW with just my niece so between the two of us we have to carry everything we'll need. I don't want to bring a backpack because I'll probably end of having to carry it. I am hoping the hipster works for me--just freeing up both hands is a bonus!
