Hey Snoopy! How 'bout Favorite Tear Jerkers?

Bambi........although it is my favorite I just have to walk away in the sad part
Stepmom.........
Mister November?
Old Yeller

Pay it forward which I've only watched once. It was just too sad.

Ole Yellar and The Yearling. Two animal movies that are heartbreakers.

The Fighting Sullivans and Saving Private Ryan. The other night when SPR was on, I lost it at the end when the Private Ryan character is at the grave over in France.

Sometimes I cry watching Romeo and Juliet (the 60's version) Gone with the Wind, West Side Story and Spartacus. Not always though cause I've seen them so many times.

The Color Purple usually does me in when Shug Avery tells her father that even sinners have soul. Same type of scene between Jane and Henry Fonda in On Golden Pond. It's the one at the end when he gives her his swimming medal. Ack! That gave me a lump in my throat just thinking about it.

But the number one movie that absolutely wrecked me, and I was in a theater, was Shindler's List. I have never, ever cried as hard or as long as I did watching that. I couldn't even talk about it when I got home. Of course the fact that nearly everyone in the theater was sobbing didn't help at all.

I just had to add this one: :smooth:

Sam: Although I cried at the end of "the Dirty Dozen."
Greg: Who didn't?
Sam: Jim Brown was throwing these hand grenades down these airshafts. And Richard Jaeckel and Lee Marvin
[Begins to cry]
Sam: were sitting on top of this armored personnel carrier, dressed up like Nazis...
Greg: [Crying too] Stop, stop!
Sam: And Trini Lopez...
Greg: Yes, Trini Lopez!
Sam: He busted his neck while they were parachuting down behind the Nazi lines...
Greg: Stop.
Sam: And Richard Jaeckel - at the beginning he had on this shiny helmet...
Greg: [Crying harder] Please no more. Oh God! I loved that movie.

I cry at Pollyanna every damn time! :sad2:
Titanic when she is blowing the whistle NOT when Jack is dead.

Most of mine are already on here;

Steel Magnolias
Stepmom
Terms of Endearment
etc, etc...

The worst I've ever cried at a movie was My Life with Michael Keaton. I was sobbing out loud in the theater, but I wasn't the only one!

Also;

The Green Mile
Radio

Oh, i cry at Lilo and Stitch too during the "Ohana means family part." L

"I'm lost." gets to me while he's holding open the Ugly Duckling book.

Stepmom.........

Oh when she's giving her kids their Christmas presents she made them, I couldn't take it!

When A Man Loves a Woman. I cry through that whole movie everytime I see it.

Oh my, I cry at a lot, but my all time favorite is Steel Magnolias, I cry so hard my head hurts every time I watch it.

Other favorites are:
Mr. Hollands Opus (a good cry!)
Beaches
Step Mom
Pay it Forward
Armageddon (Watched this with my dad when it was first released on video, I was home sick with the flu and he brought it over to watch with me, even he cried when Bruce Willis was staying on the planet and talking to his daughter...)

My favorite tear jerkers which had me both laughing and crying throughout the movies:

Steel Magnolias
Fried Green Tomatoes
Braveheart
Hope Floats

Oh my goodness!! Yes. I was reading through to see if anyone mentioned that one. I just like Michael Keaton so we rented this one not really knowing what it was about. Thank goodness it was a rental. DH and I both just held each other and cried when it was over.

City of Angels is a tough one for me too. I know there are bunches of others because I am just a big cryer, but these two stick out.

Oh lord, there are so many movies that make me cry. Here's are a few:

The Notebook (dealing with my grandmother and her Alzhemiers so it definately makes me cry)
Titanic (totally cliche, but true)
Philadelphia
Pearl Harbor
Ladder 49
Black Hawk Down (hits close to home :()
Saving Private Ryan
13 Going on 30 (The end gets me everytime! )
My Dog Skip
Steel Magnolias
50 First Dates
The Other Sister
Forrest Gump
Toy Story 2 (the "when she loved me" part makes me tear up  )

I'm sure there are loads more but that's all I can think of right now :teeth:

I've avoided some tearjerkers, but I agree with My Life, Terms of Endearment, Steel Magnolias, Beaches, ET.
I noticed a lot of Disney on here but did I miss it, did no one mention LION KING? I was sobbing when Mufasa was dead and Simba was trying to "wake him up".
I remember my sister and I sobbing uncontrollably watching Brian's Song when it first aired. In total hysterics. There was another movie called "Something for Joey" that was like that too. Of course we were also sobbing when Radar announced that Col. Henry Blake was dead on MASH.
My daughters have both seen a movie at school called "Stone Fox" where dog dies, and both were crying, which of course is embarrassing in 4th grade! My oldest (13) and also can't handle that previously mentioned scene in "Armageddon" with Liv Tyler talking to Bruce Willis.
Speaking of tearjerkers, I was going to the video store to rent a copy of "Love Story". That ought to get me, it did before!
