Gas here is a little over $3 a gallon, Micco and I were talking about it before the hurricane, and we figure it will eventually top out at about $5, especially now with Katrina.

BTW, there was something definitely missing in our CD, "Shoreside Survival Kit". you know what it was, all of you. The only shoreside survival I could really go for is a dose of you guys. Miss you all and glad all are safe, may we count our blessings!

  Well that sure made my day Debi!

Gas in Indiana = $3.19/gallon That's not good the way I drive. I am off to Cincy after school tomorrow for Bengals vs. Colts. I have to come back on Sat. for a wedding (Mark and my flower girl from our wedding!!!). Then back for the big Labor Day fireworks/parties on the river. I cannot bear missing any of them. I have tried to justify missing one and I just can't do it!! So, I will "suck it up" and pay the price, like it or not!

Lucy........we love you!! Keep your head up! BTW How's Bob feeling?

I paid $3.29 a gal today! I figured it might get worse this weekend, so I bit the bullet. We're traveling tomorrow to the shore to enjoy our last weekend of summer (and the DDs are working!)

Everyone have a nice weekend, thank goodness all are safe and sound!! :sunny:

Hey all! Last weekend of summer!!! Who's coming down??? :cool1:

Now, everyone is seeing the "nasty" side of JT!!

We are having BEAUTIFUL weather here on the east coast. Bob is
enjoying it too ( :rotfl2: ), poor guy, stuck inside a retail store.
At least he has off tomorrow, his holiday to work this
year was 4th of July.

I need to know how one family can have so many dirty clothing!
I did 6 loads of laundry yesterday!!!!!

Kathy, you ok? Ted OK? Sometimes when we don't hear from you I worry
they sent Ted somewhere......south? Please respond.

Have a great weekend everyone. :grouphug:

Hi Everyone,

All is well here. Sorry I've been away from the boards for a few days. It's Day 7 of the 'no iodine' diet. 12 more days to go. I'm pretty miserable. I've been watching all the the Hurricane Katrina coverage this week. It's just awful. You think the news can't get any worse and then it does. Ted doesn't have to go down there. I'm not really sure who they sent to staff the Mercy. We've been busy getting ready for school to start next week.

Thx Kathy for checking in!! We were a little worried! :guilty:

Hey Lucy, he needs alittle aggravation and I've done my part over the years to provide it!!!

Last day of Labor Day weekend................... :smooth: very sad to see summer go................. we all had such a great time together.....what a special year!!

Best wishes to all next week, all the kids should be back to school. I had my two older DDs down the shore this week for their final work weekend......so now I take them back to college again. :teacher: GL Debi dropping off Alex.

because of meeting all of you and developing such special friendships.
THANKS YOU, EVERYONE.
It is sad to say goodbye, once again, to summer. I LOVE the summertime.
We had a glorious weekend, weather-wise, couldn't have asked for more.
I DO like the fall, the smell (yes, people, it does have a particular smell!),
the leaves, the cool days, but winter and spring, respectively, are NOT
my favorite seasons.
Poor Debs, I bet she is crying......honestly Deb, I'm just kidding you,
we had so much fun 'picking' on you.....you're a great sport. Hugs
and good wishes to Alex.
I'm watching the Philly news today and hearing how school is starting
this week - YEA, we already have a "week in"!
OK, let's think of GOOD things, now that the summer is ending....OK, here
is the big one.....WE'LL SOON LEARN ABOUT THE CRUISE IN 2007!
Miss you guys! :grouphug:

Hi guys! I found us on page 2, so I thought I would bump just for fun!

Spent the w-end driving... Went to a wedding (the flower girl from our wedding!!), beautiful 30 minute fireworks/music show on the river and a lot of family time!

This weekend we are going to Mark's parent's house. We haven't been there since Christmas. Since his dad and sister show walking horses, we don't hook up much in the summer. Actually, we are taking the kids up Friday. Mark and I will leave Sat. a.m. for Cleveland (1 1/2 hours north of his parents). The Bengals are playing up there on Sunday, so we are going to make a weekend of it with some friends. Since Mark went to college in Cleveland, it's always nice for him to hook up with his buddies. I like them and their "girls", so it's fun. We aren't leaving to come home until Monday. It's just too long of a drive to go up and back in three days. It really cuts into the "visiting time". The kids are so excited (and so is grandma!). She absolutely spoils them to death!

We had five kids enroll in our schools today from Louisiana. It makes me feel good to know that we are helping in more than a monitary way.

I have talked to Mark about a NY trip..... Anyone still in? I am not sure if we are, but maybe if we talk a little, some of us might end up doing it! I would love to see a show. Debi, you'd like to be the tour guide, right??

Bill I am ignoring your comment on the making the playoffs! Just watch out for the Bengals...................

Owen and Amy enjoyed their first day of school...and I enjoyed a few hours to myself! Amy started dance class this afternoon. She hated her dance class last year but we changed schools this year and this class is a combo of tap, ballet, jazz and gymnastics. She loved it!

I'm very excited! Springsteen is playing in Norfolk (about 15 minutes from our house) on Friday 11 November! Tickets go on sale this Saturday. Wish me luck. They'll sell out in about 90 seconds. There are only 6000 seats in this particular venue.

Debi, Don't you think it's funny that the evacuees don't want to get on the Carnival Cruise ships. When I heard that it instantly brought back memories of your horror storry on Carnival.

Oh, by the way...GO PATRIOTS!!!

Ooh, I almost forgot...GO RED SOX!!!

Yes! Let's plan a NYC trip to see a show when our school year is not so new! What a great idea Jenny ! How amazing that some of your new students are from Katrina! I haven't heard of us getting anyone but I did hear that evacuees are being moved to North Philadelphia near where my girls are in college.

The news gets more tragic everyday! Glad all are well across the country in our little group. The colleague's daughter who was scheduled to start Tulane has just moved to Syracuse University for the Fall semester.

Sorry I have been absent the last few days. Last minute getting Alex ready and yesterday we took her to school. It was a very emotional day. Yes, Lucy, I was crying, so was Micco, Briana and Chivas (the dog). Today I feel like I got beat up, anyway, with time, we will be ok.

Are you guys interested in doing something this fall or early winter in NYC. Lucy had emailed me with some dates in Sept & early Oct, but if we want to do something in late Oct or November, just let me know who is up for it and what you guys would like to see, and then we could plan it. And yes, Jenny I could be your tour guide, margaritas and all.

Kathy, sorry to hear you are a Patriots fan, we are not particularly fond of the Patriots here in Jets territory!!! Should be an interesting season.

Miss you all
Debi

Hey Debs,

I hear ya..............I was a mess on Tracy's first day.................whenever she calls me I feel bad because I'm afraid she's missing me?! I've seen her twice so far, so maybe that's nuts too! We had a wedding  and her last weekend at work down the shore.

I would rather go late Fall, early winter up to NYC, b/c we have a few things going on early Fall................I'd have to check the calendar..........what's everyone else up for?? :confused3 :wave2:

Jenny?
Lynn?
Kathy?
Wendy?
Dad?
West Coasters???

Lynn????? :rotfl:
