We are back from upstate NY, where we had a great weekend. It is definitely a trip some of us might think of doing, Lucy, I don't think it's too far from you, probably less than us. Anyway, I hope Bob is feeling better, we are always thinking about you guys.

Briana started school today, and was definitely not thrilled about going back. We got to see Alex last night, she stopped in on her way back from work, she may stay over again tonight because she has to work, so it hasn't been so bad so far having her away.

I am glad I didn't get to see most of the Jets game, we listened to it on the way home, what a disaster!!! And they are predicting the Jets to go to the SB. LOL, I don't think so, anyway I am a true Jets fan and there is always hope??? We'll see how they do next week at home against Miami.

So, if the first weekend in December works for some of us, I will start looking into tix for Wicked, see what's available and $$. Will let you know and then we can figure out who is definitely coming. Everyone is welcome to stay here, we have a 1 bedroom apartment with a pull out couch and full size bed, and we can do some other creative sleeping arrangements, it will be like a big pajama party.

Have a great day everyone!

Debi

Whew! I just pulled us from the second page!!

Thx Debi,

Let us know what you come up with for the "Wicked Weekend!"

I just got back from taking Owen to his first piano lesson. His former Kindergarten teacher gives piano lessons out of her home. I had heard from several other mothers that her housekeeping was less than par but I was still shocked when I saw her house. She has four cats and an elderly dog who had gone to the bathroom on her living room rug just before we arrived. There were spiders and spider webs everywhere. It was filthy! Amy is allergic to cats so I left her at home with Ted. My eyes were watering and Owen was coughing a bit. You can't imagine the mess and clutter. I can't understand how someone can live that way. She is a very nice lady...albeit a tad eccentric. She is an excellent teacher and Owen really enjoyed his lesson. I've got to go take a shower.

Two more days and I can eat again!!!

thanks Kathy.
Bob having surgery tomorrow - definitely needed - so everyone, Lucy
wants a pity party....she must play nurse this weekend! Oh, yea, Bob
is gonna hurt too. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Kathy - I wish we lived closer - I'd go out to eat with you guys too....
I'm crossing my fingers for you!

DCL Press Release:

On October 1, the Disney Magic will sail to the Norshipco shipyard in Norfolk, Va. for a two-week dry dock period, during which new guest experiences and venues will be added.

* Disney Cruise Line will introduce another cruise industry first with its Vista Spa and Salon expansion, which will include three specially designed indoor/outdoor spa treatment suites. Each suite will feature an indoor spa treatment room that is connected to a private outdoor verandah – complete with personal hot tub and open air shower. With beautiful ocean vistas and warm tropical breezes, the new treatment suites will provide guests with a romantic getaway into a tranquil oasis without ever leaving the ship.

* Adding to the already expansive offerings for children, Disney Cruise Line is transforming three conference rooms on deck 2 of the Disney Magic into a brand new hang-out for kids called Ocean Quest. Ocean Quest will feature a scaled replica of the ship’s bridge with simulation games that will allow children to steer a cruise ship in and out of ports around the world.

* Additionally, Disney Magic guests will soon be able to enjoy poolside movies on a brand-new, state-of-the-art jumbo LED screen on deck 9. Affixed to the forward funnel, the 24-by-14-foot screen will show movies along with major sporting and broadcast events. The enormous screen will also enhance outdoor entertainment and deck parties in and around the Goofy, family pool area.

* A new interactive shore excursion at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, will immerse guests into the amazing underwater world of stingrays. In partnership with marine animal experts from the Living Seas at Epcot, Disney Cruise Line created a stingray sanctuary adjacent to the teen beach at Castaway Cay. The 60-minute experience called Castaway Ray’s Stingray Adventure includes an educational orientation loaded with interesting facts and tidbits about stingrays, hands-on interaction, and free-time to snorkel in the stingray lagoon. Castaway Ray’s Stingray Adventure is scheduled to open late September.

The Magic will be in drydock about 15 minutes from our house. I also heard that you can get a good view of her from the ferry that runs between Portsmouth and Norfolk. The kids are excited.

Best wishes to Bob for a successful surgery and a quick recovery. Good luck Nurse Lucy!

One more day!

Kathy

Sending Bob good luck and speedy recovery wishes. Surgery is never fun, and playing nursemaid isn't either! :sunny:

You poor devil, finally getting the rest I'm sure you deserve :goodvibes
I certainly hope everyone will be responding to your every need... :Pinkbounc

Kick back and watch those Phillies clean up their devision.... :confused3 oh yah and the Eagles should be showing up this week :teeth:

We need some easy "marks" for the Eagles....you know Jets,Bengals,Mets..!
Whoops... wrong sport ....
Anyhow ,get well fast, you can never tell when the next cruise will pop up..!! :cheer2:

Kathy ...will the Wonder be at the old Newport News SY..??

JoAnn ...Have a nice trip... we'll see you next summer.. :rotfl: Will the girls be down this week... Who Ha ..! let the party begin....... :thewave:

Bob- Good luck with everything, our thoughts are with you.

Lucy - You are teasing us. When are they going to announce where they are going in 07??? I am dying here. Anyway, have fun being Nurse Lucy this weekend.

Kathy- Piano lesson sounded like fun. LOL. Well at least you can eat in a few days, say hi to the Magic for us.

Bill - Maybe the Jets will show up this weekend for their home opener, I think they sent the practice squad out to KC last weekend, oh sorry, that was Pennington at QB.

Still having lots of hot weather in this neck of the woods, hope everyone else is starting to cool down.

Debi

Bill, I'm not sure where the old Newport News Shipyard is as we've only lived here for 4 years. The Magic will be in Norfolk near the Downtown Tunnel. Ted will probably be able to see her from his office at Portsmouth Naval Hospital.

I'm up early...can't sleep. I have the scan this am. I'm not nervous but my mind is awake.

Tonight Ted and the kids will take me out for pizza. I'm sure it will be the best pizza ever! Tomorrow we're going to the air show at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach. One of our friends from med school married a Navy pilot who until recently was a member of the Blue Angels. He hooked us up with VIP passes and the kids will get to get their picture taken with the team.

Tomorrow night is girls' night out. We haven't had one in a while and we're going to celebrate the end of my tests.

On Sunday afternoon we'll take the kids to the children's symphony in Norfolk. It is a very visual performance with Cirque du Soleil-like acts going on while the orchestra plays. Owen and Amy really enjoy it.

Lucy, I wish you could go out to dinner with us too. Make sure you update us on Bob as soon as you get a break from catering to his every need. I think he needs a bell.

I better try to go back to sleep or I'm going to crash by this afternoon.

The Magic will be quite a sight moving into that dry dock.... :Pinkbounc

Newport News is across the bay from NSYD , I didn't realize there were so many "Big" drydocks in the area...

Man, check out those Blue Angles ....what a thrill that would be just meeting those guys.... "best of the best" quoting Tom Cruise from the movie "Top Gun"
sounds like a great outing....!!

Debi .... forget it, the Jets are never out of contention.... :Pinkbounc

My scan is over and all is well. They drew some labs today that won't be back for 2 weeks but they don't expect any surprises.

Lucy, We're waiting for news about Bob...I hope everything went smoothly.

Go Patriots!...sorry Deb.

Temp has finally gone below 100 degrees this week. Not by much though.

Small world, Shawn's brother was killed in a car accident near Norfolk in the Cheasepeak (spelled wrong) Bay Bridge Tunnel a few years ago.

Went to Disneyland last weekend. Sister got a passes to dine in Club 33. It was really, really cool.

Off to Oregon on Thursday Oregon Ducks vs USC next Saturday. We are 2-0 so far this year!!!

I just discovered that Owen took a pair of safety scissors to Amy's hair. I am just sick over it. I've put out an emergency call to my hairdresser. I am debating having his head shaved tomorrow. He tried to hide the evidence and he lied to me initially about what happened. He was invited to a birthday-slumber party next Friday night...he's not going now! He's lost TV privileges until Amy's hair grows back. I just took money out of his piggy bank to pay for Amy's hairstyling tomorrow.

Thanks for asking about Bob.
Yes, I'm doing well :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ,
and Bob? oh, yea, he is ok too. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Seriously, the surgery took a little longer than expected, his ligament(s) had
a bigger tear than expected. BUT, he came out of it ok. So funny, when he came back to recovery he was feeling great, starving and we left the hospital after 4 hrs. of being there. I told him everything the doctor told me (what I could remember, that is - the doctor is gorgeous!!! picture this: a
guy, just off the surfboard, blond hair - mamma mia!), ok, back to the patient!
Well, Bob doesn't remember a thing i told him....he was really "out of it".
Luckily he is not in pain (yet, Sunday morning), sleeping well, and his nurse
is doing a GREAT job too. We had neighbors over last night and I cooked up a storm (my favorite thing to do!) and had a great time. He still can't go to our second floor, but he is sleeping well on the sofa (and I'm sleeping GREAT too - I know you are concerned about ME :rotfl2: )
I think Bob MAY be getting a little board....he is finishing up his Harry Potter book today, then he'll probably sit and paint props for our musical. I told him if he behaves, he MAY go to rehearsal Tuesday night at the school (yea, like I have control over that!). He will TRY to go back to work on Friday, and then he works next weekend.
THANKS FOR CARING EVERYONE. Wish all our DISers from the 7/30 cruise could visit us RIGHT NOW! (well, maybe you want to wait till Bob gets his first shower! :goodvibes :goodvibes ):Kathy, Jenny, Debs, Wendy, Lisa, Liz, David, BILL and ALICE!, JoAnn, AND SPOUSES TOO!   did I miss anyone from OUR group! (apologies....my mind is focused on my patient...oh, yea, while I was waiting for Bob to come out of surgery, I took my pictures along and remembered how much fun we had this summer)

Lucy Glad to hear Bob's surgery went well and that you are hanging in there too--being the nurse is a tough job! Keep up the good work!

Kathy I hope Amy's hair is doing okay. yikes! Congratulations on your tests and the Springsteen tickets--you will have to give me a review of the concert. I wish he was coming by here again, but no such luck.

Wish we could join the Wicked weekend, but can't swing it this year--maybe we'll be able to make the next NY weekend.

Liz
:flower:

I forgot - what was your first REAL meal? I'm anxious to hear:
mine would have been, probably, pizza with EVERYTHING, ice cream
for dessert (of course!) or Mickey D's and a milkshake!! That was Bob's first request after surgery. The Williams family is a gourmet family, aren't they? :cool1:
I'm at work today, cleaning out my office, starting in my new office
tomorrow - won't be a big change, except the amount of work, much
less.
Oh, guys, last night I made the BEST red velvet cake, i amaze myself sometimes :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hi all!

HOW 'BOUT THEM BENGALS?? And not to mention those J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!!! O.k the Eagles are doing well too. Woo Hoo! :cool1: Just got back from watching Dante Culpepper stink up the Cincinnati town!! It was Oktoberfest to boot! Needless to say, I was not a good girl Sat. night! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Reds and Phillies next weekend Bill........ Little wager??? :rolleyes1

Bob Hope you are feeling better soon! :love1:

Wicked weekend is not looking good for me!! We go to Jacksonville in three weeks. That will be the test if we can make it. I am finding that Mark wants to come to NYC with me, so he is holding me off. Oh well.... :confused3 I miss you guys so much, it's killing me!!! What is a girl to do??

Kathy Hope your tests went/go well. Congratulations on "normal" food again! As far as hair cuts, well my John did that to himself once right before preschool pix!! Not cool!

JoAnn How's Vegas??? Did you give Wayne Newton a kiss for me??
