As stated before if anyone's not listed it's not intentional...just don't have your information. Please post your info and I'll add it to our group list and repost. Thanks everyone! :teeth:

We've got people from Nordstrom and JC Penney -
and all these teachers.........(oh, by the way, I didn't tell you girls,
the couple we are travelling with are also teachers!)
Old Weather Channel showing some rain again for California.

Good morning to all!

Lucy :cheer2: Keep those bios coming. :cheer2:

Thanks so much for the list Lisa.
I'm going to pay off our cruise at the weekend, the dollar is so low against the pound (sorry you guys, but it's really good news for us!)

the only retort I can make.... :teeth: with all those "educators" on board
it's probably a good idea having a psychologist available ..... :teacher:

to referee of course....!! :earboy2:

By the way, how is the dollar holding up to the euro...??

0.751 euros to a dollar.
The lowest in the last 52 week period was 0.736 the highest was 0.841
0.522 pounds to a dollar
The lowest in the last 52 week period was 0.516 the highest was 0.566
Hope this helps :sunny:

Thankyou Lynn... I'm sure I could find this info on this system, didn't know where to look...!! :confused3

JoAnn - have a great vacation, hope you have great weather

Bill - you can adopt ME while JoAnn is gone :rotfl2:

My 12 yr. old has been sick with a cold for the last 2 days, been
driving me nuts - he will make a great HUSBAND - moans, groans,
think he was dying and all it was was a cold! I have 3 men in the
house - lucky me! :cool1:

My husband noticed the GC in Disneyland is all sold out for the week
we are there - it will be very crowded in Disneyland. I'm glad
we have our reservations.

Our weather has been great...today it will be about 75 or so. Not to rub it in for you Easterners... :teeth:

The travel channel had a 30 minute special on the GC earlier this week. They showed the inside of the presidential suite...wow, was that nice! DL is usually very busy in the summer and most "locals" stay away. I can't only assume it's going to be packed with it's regular visitors plus the addition of cruise vistors. I would suspect they'll have record numbers. We're planning at getting season passes in early December this year. We can still enjoy the 50th anniversary celebration (it's going on for about a year) and avoid the crowds. You all will really enjoy the GC! It's beautiful and the convenience of being right there, within walking distance of DL, CA and DD is awesome! ::MickeyMo

We upgraded to a suite during our last vistit to DL in January at the GC. It wasn't the Presidential suite, but it was extremely nice. Was only an extra $50 a night for the four nights. Well worth the cost. It was very large, having a spacious entry, dining, living areas. Included was a separate master with bath, in addition to what could be best described as a jack n jill bath. Also had a large balcony that overlooked DD.

With that said, we probably won't stay again next January when we return. We really do enjoy the DL Hotel more.

Especially enjoyed the ease of having own entrance to CA. That is a huge plus.

With that said, the little girls like DL Hotel better.

a high of 47 degrees at 3:30 in the afternoon......I'm totally jealous.

Disneyland crowded - I DON"T CARE (yes, I'm shouting) - I just want
to be there......and, even if it is crowded, we have the ship to
look forward to to relax.

They did also show the family suite on the Travel Channel program...it looked very nice and spacious.

It's been many years since we've stayed at the DL hotel and they've since remodeled it. When my DH was in high school he worked security at the DL hotel and one of the families cruising with us in July actually met at DL when they were in high school/college. Back in those days (20 years ago) they all lived in Anaheim and if ya lived in Anaheim and needed a job, you'd more than likely work at DL.

Anyway, the current pool at DL looks very cool with the captain hook theme and my DS6 REALLY wants to stay there some day, so it's good to hear you really liked it. I just liked the convenience of the GC being RIGHT there in the middle of everything.

Having studied ungergraduately at UCI, my husband and I met in Irvine. He lived there for about 7 years, while I was only there for 4 years. But I lived in Southern California my entire life, until I went to Graduate School in Oregon (gouodux)!

Anyway, he had a relationship prior to our meeting with a young lady that worked as a character at DL. She was Cinderella and often Sleeping Beauty. Luckily the relationship ended amicably and we were able to take advantage of the friendship with extra benefits at DL. This of course was probably 17 years ago. DL hotel has changed quite a bit in those years as has obviously the whole park.

We have been to DL sooo many times . . . . and now we have the two little girls who just love anything Disney. It is still fun to see how they see things through their eyes. It brings back the memories when we were kids and our parents took us to DL.

It just goes full circle - imagine when we are grandparents!

just what I needed ...another pretty daughter... :flower:

Something I've been meaning to mention....did anyone notice ..? that the Phila. Phillies "crushed "the Cinn.Reds recently... did I read that right..?? :wave2:
don't mean nuttin...pre season...any time a Philly team win's in anything
is a major event....!! :rotfl2:

the sports stations are still hammering away as to how come we didn't win the Super Bowl.....!!

anyhow have a good day... :rockband:

Well, what do you know?? A fellow ANTEATER :teeth: !!!! Zot, Zot. I went to UCI also, but I'm a tad older than you--I graduated in '88. While at UCI I was very active in ASUCI-my last year I served at VP of Academic Services and I also was active in a sorority-Delta Delta Delta. I went to high school in Irvine as well and ended up working for 12 years at Parker Hannifin in Irvine after I graduated from UCI. Small world.

I wondered what gouodux stood for! Now I know!

Lisa

Seriously....YOU CAN HAVE HIM, LUCY! :cool1:

I'm free, I'm free..... ::MinnieMo

Thx for the weather update in CA, my weather checks have been about 65, so the 70s sound great!

Any suggestions for touring with the teens? We were thinking PP, BH, RD, and the beach!

I stayed at the DL hotel about 8 years ago before the California Adventure was built, etc.....it wasn't much to speak of at that time. We stayed at the Grand Californian about 3 summers ago and it was really nice like the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge at WDW. The proximity to the parks is really great and the staff was WONDERFUL last time!

I read somewhere that the GC was designed by the same guy who did the WL and AKL at WDW, so that's why they seem like they're all along the same lines. We stayed at the AKL in June '04 and I could tell they had the same architect.

:shamrock: I was going to mention the Phillies thing too, Bill, but I'm too
nice of a person :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
(and goodness knows what will happen during the season).
Have any of you locals been to the new baseball stadium - we were
there last summer - it is gorgeous.

I'm so happy we are staying at the GC, and I know the parks
will be crowded, but I'm totally a cruise person and that is what
I'm really looking forward :boat: to.

and, Bill, I'm too old to be your daughter....but thanks for the compliment.
(wouldn't mind you adopting me but I would want 51 yrs. of back-dated
Christmas and birthday presents - it is all about ME :rotfl2: )

I'm starting to feel so comfortable with this entire group, but
I'm sad that not everyone has responded to our listing - i believe
there are a few of you out there who need to tell us all about you -
don't be scared. NONE of us know each other, with the exception
of Bill and JoAnn (and at times they DO claim they don't know
each other), and this is the only way we'll get to know each other
before the cruise. If we can meet up on the ship, maybe several
children will get to know each other and feel mighty comfortable with
each other. I have NEVER, EVER chatted on line, until this thread...
and the only person that scares me is Albill. I have issues with
several of these people (NJ people, Reds fans, the California and Arizona
families rubbing in the great weather, how much money Lynn is saving
on her cruise, too many teachers) but I am so glad Lisa started this list
for us (I'm too lazy to organize anything like this) because now I can
get to know each and every one of you before July 30th (and you'll regret
the next 7 days you spend with me on the Magic!). :grouphug:
More info, new-found-friends. - Lucy.
