Thx, Lisa, where exactly are you?

We shopped on Rodeo Drive today, the weather was dreary! We saw Andie McDowall! (sp?)Hopefully the weather will brighten up tomorrow! :guilty:

Any suggestions for what we should not miss while we're here?

JoAnn-I'm inland from CSUF...about 45 minutes (inland) from there. We are in Riverside County whereas Fullerton is in Orange County.

It rained here so I'm assuming it did the same in Fullerton...hope things worked out for your DD.

Have a safe trip back!

Lisa

From the Al part of albil: Seems like I am missing out on all the fun of communicating. JoAnn: What ddid you and the girls buy and was it as grand as you imagined????? Weather is pretty dreary here also. Tell your husband that I witnessed a "tax sale" in the city of Brigantine and does he know what this is??

Write to us some more, Love Mom

Hello, Al part of Albil - good to hear from you too.

We have school at the university today - first time ever we have
school on Good Friday - I'm only working 1/2 day....very quiet around
here - lots of students went home anyway, even though we have
school - don't blame them. :cheer2:

Weather not nice here either - damp, rain...I'm sick of it. :cold:

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Was Rodeo Drive worth the trip? I would like to do that when we are in LA this summer, but I am the only "shopper" in the family (besides DD6 - not her kind of stores there, right?). Anyway, I hope the weather cooperates for you. Sun is a great therapy in the dreary days of the midwest! :sunny:

Alice.........nice to see you on the board. Come and visit more. We are trying to keep Bill in line, but obviously you have the years of experience on us! He's quite a character! I too would like to hear about JoAnn's trip!

We too have rain today. :umbrella: I have the day off, but not w/o things to do! The Easter Bunny has some work to do (get started for one!). I need to get things caught up with the coming of baseball season! :cool1:

DH and I will be gone all next weekend through Monday (alone!) for Opening Day in Cincinnati. It's a BIG thing there. A parade and all! We really enjoy that weekend, as it has become a tradition for us to go and have Mommy and Daddy time!

Actually the weather was pretty good today, about 60 but very sunny. We went on a tour of Beverly Hills, Hollywood, etc. It was pretty good. The traffic around here is pretty bad so that took some patience. So.......we saw the Grumans Theater and the Kodak Theater, etc. It was really fun.

Rodeo Drive is cool but very upscale. So we shopped in Niketown, alittle bit in Tiffany's and mostly window shopped. It was fun to see. Tomorrow we will stay here in Santa Monica and then get ready for our red-eye home tomorrow night. I saw some ads for DL but we will save that for this summer!

Back to school on MOnday! :p

Thanks for the update! Sounds like you are having a great time! Enjoy the rest of your trip! :wave2:

Ok, final trip report! The last day we had the sun and 70s so we went to the beach and rode bikes. It was fun! Overall, the traffic was unbearable on this trip. Our trip to Miami was much more fun! :sunny:

Now it's back to school! No more trips until DCL!

Bottom line........when we all get to LA next summer, YOU MUST ALLOW A LOT OF TIME FOR TRAFFIC! :smooth:

We may have to just remain at DL until it is time to depart for the cruise on Saturday!

JoAnn ....Oh well, it's never quite right.... Hey, glad your on the way back.... everyone missed you :rotfl:

We had the usual for Easter clouds, cold and damp...

looks like the "final four" this week... anybody still got and active team ...??

We cheered Villanova till the last 5 Min ,till their poor shooting did them in.. :sad2:

Ok kids... lets dig in and tough out the coming weeks till cruise time..

Most of all be healthy, no accidents, and keep :) :)

Well.......my poor Hoosiers didn't even make the tourney and were absolutely embarrassing in the NIT, so I really am ready for baseball season. DH cheers for Texas Tech and has taken the loss to WV well, but they certainly have turned it around down there.

Albill ~ My beloved Reds fell to the Phillies (again) today. Looks like you might have something to cheer about this year. :cheer2:

Opening Day is just 7 days away! DH and I leave Sat. a.m. Kids staying back! Hopefully we will get nice weather. The extended forecast shows low to mid 60s. That would be fine with me!!!!

Have we seen Lynn lately? :listen:

Sadly, that's the California way...traffic, traffic and more traffic. I've been trying to tell everyone about that but one doesn't understand until one experiences it! Today it took us 1 1/2 hours for a drive that should have taken 45 minutes...it was horrible! Such is life!

Glad we had decent weather for you JoAnn!

Happy Easter everyone!

Lisa

Ahh, SoCal traffic. . . . . . .

Shawn has been offered three promotions in the last few years and has turned them all down. They meant moving back to SoCal. If we can help it, we will NEVER move back. Cost of living is too high, and yes, it just isn't worth spending your life in the car.

As far as the BB tourney goes, I think we have you all beat. We didn't even make it to our conference tourney!! It has been a forgetable year for the fighting Ducks of Oregon. First the football season and then basketball. Very disappointing but they will be back next year.

At least they aren't like Arizona State and murdering their former teamates. If you haven't heard, very tragic and sad.

Reds, Phillies, it's all about the DBacks baby! Finally got rid of that ol' man Johnson. Now maybe we will be back in the World Series (note sarcasm)!

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful Easter with their families. The girls spent the majority of the day in the pool. Too cold for us still - water temp is up to 76 degrees. We will be just fine in the spa for a few more weeks. The day was perfect, warm, blue skies, and spent together.

Saw "ol man Johnson" pitch two weeks ago in Tampa against the Reds. Reds doubled, tripled and singled, plus two wild pitches in the 1st=3 runs for the Reds. We actually still won!!! Man is that the skinniest person I've ever seen!! :earseek: It's unbelievable!

Seriously, I've been to New York City during rush hour! I don't think that traffic came close to Cali. Is it better in the morning or in the summer. When do you get relief (3am?) CA is beautiful (I love San Diego). It's such a shame. I guess you need a subway system or something. :moped:

It's just something to keep in mind for next summer. I'm still really excited about 3 Mexican ports and all the sea days! :cloud9:

In any case, Spring is here and we are now in the 3+ month range for our trip!

Whhhhhoooooooppppppeeeeeeee!! :goodvibes

Being from New York originally I am not happy with the traffic issues in CA. The traffic lets up usually in the middle of th day and in the middle of the night but having said that, there's always cars around, always. We have a lousy public transportation system, too many people with too many cars and to enough roads or lanes on the freeway. In my opinion it ruins the beauty of California. If both sides of our family weren't all here in CA, I'd be like gouodux and be outta here.

But on the upside...on July 30th it will only take us about just over an hour to get to the port, beats flying to FL!

:teeth:

Does anyone know.....Lucy wants to be the FIRST one on the Disney
transfer bus from the GC to the port. LUCY and her family are always
the FIRST ones at the port in Florida (we drive). I guess noone knows, yet,
how we can schedule ourselves for the transfer (we have booked the
transfer). Can you tell LUCY is getting very anxious to know "things".
LUCY is also getting very anxious to meet each and every one of you.
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We are getting close to the 90 day thing. Shouldn't we receive our excursion stuff soon? I am really getting psyched!

70 degrees here today!! WOW! I left work as soon as I got off and just enjoyed the sunshine and warmth! It's suppose to be the nicest day of the week, but still in the 60s. I'll take that anyday over snow and grey skies!! :sunny:

Is LUCY going to be mad when she sees JENNY at the front of that line to get on??? Just kidding! :rotfl:

Well, I guess it's time to stop procrastinating and pay up so I can book excursions. BTW, we are in rooms 6600 & 6601. I finally checked my paperwork. pirate:

I confirmed my flights and I found out that USAirways had cancelled my flight and put us on a 9:30am flight on Sat. August 6th! So I got on the phone for about an hour or so and it was changed to 3:40pm. How do you like that!!! :confused3

Jenny, is there going to be an argument here? No, we won't argue,
let's just play the game, tag I'M IT! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

JoAnn - are you leaving from LAX? If so, we can talk about the wonderful
cruise we just took together. (and the silly things Bill did on the cruise).
(gotta go look up THESE cabins.....make sure they are on this ship :rotfl: )

Hi everyone
Hope you all had a good easter life has been a bit hectic here it's report writing time of year!!
I spotted this on another thread had you all seen it?

Disney Cruise Line is proud to announce a brand new original musical that will open on the westbound Trans-Canal voyage of the Disney Magic on May 25, 2005. The show is called "Twice Charmed - An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story," and it is based on the classic Disney film, "Cinderella."

The show begins at the end of the famous story as Cinderella and her Prince are wed. However, Cinderella's evil stepmother, Lady Tremaine, and her obnoxious stepsisters believe that if it weren't for the glass slippers, Cinderella would never have won the heart of the prince. They call upon Lady Tremaine's evil Fairy Godfather for help, and trouble ensues.

The show features six original songs and two classic songs from the film. Disney Cruise Line guests are sure to experience the story of Cinderella in a whole new way with this production.

This new show will replace "Hercules - the Muse-ical" onboard the Disney Magic. The last performance of "Hercules - the Muse-ical" on the Disney Magic will take place during the April 9, 2005 voyage. In the meantime, Disney Magic voyages beginning April 16, 2005 through May 7, 2005 will feature a special evening of entertainment. The April 16th and 23rd voyages will feature the Bumblesquats, known for their amazingly hilarious and artful "cirque-like" entertainment. Magician Mike Super will be featured on the April 30th voyage and the juggling team of Wilde & Haines will be onboard the May 7th sailing.

"Twice Charmed - An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story" will only be performed on the Disney Magic. The Disney Wonder will continue to feature "Hercules - the Muse-ical."
