Pres. Clinton...how awesome!:woohoo:
the others? don't recognize them...remember, as Bob says, I live a very
sheltered life!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

WHO is going to "talk" to Ms. Jenny? We are NOT allowed computers on the trip, so you will ALL need to wait for the details, sorry!:rolleyes1

Sorry guys, just got a chance to sit down and read all your posts.

JoAnn Glad to hear that Ken is doing well. You guys have been in our thoughts all week. And if he runs the NYC Marathon, you can tell him that we will DEFINITELY be there TO CHEER HIM ON!!!!!! I believe it is usually the first Sunday in November. Also, congrats to Jess.

Jenny Sounds like Mallory had a great time, and I am sure she is a beautiful model, can't wait to see the photos, you will have to email some to us. She is sooooo cute!

Lucy Never even hear of Ollie's, is it like a Target????

I have been real busy at work, did 2 birthday parties last week, one on Friday, one on Sunday (with 24 kids - just shoot me). I have an All Day Crop this Saturday that I am vending at, and I am doing an Expo in the middle of April that is 2 days in NJ. Hopefully I will make some $$$ at that.

Briana had competition up at Fordham in the Bronx on Saturday, her team didn't do too well, they did better at CYO 2 weeks ago.

OK, and now for my concert news. Let me tell you what an awesome concert it was, he played from 8:00 until about 11:45, no intermission. Only played 1 song from his new album, opened up with "Sixty Years On" (how appropriate) and played a lot of old tunes, and stuff I have never heard him play in concert. Bill Clinton introduced him, the audience went wild. I wonder if it was our current president, would the reaction have been the same. Robin Williams came out and did a little thing, and Whoopi Goldberg joined him. I was a little disappointed that there were no other musical guests to join him a few songs, but other than that the show was great....

Now to the good (and bad, but not so bad) parts. I had made this giant sized poster card for him, said HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY ELTON IN 5" red letters on the front and was totally decorated inside and out. I had all these big plans to give it to him, since we were sitting on the floor, I figured it would be a piece of cake. We were in the 2nd section on the floor, which was barricaded, so we tried to get into the front section, but they wouldn't let us. Security was extremely tight, and no one was allowed to get to the front of the stage to give him ANYTHING. He wasn't even signing autographs (which he always does). I think the tight security may have had something to do with Clinton being there and Secret Service, but whatever. So I resolved myself, and we (my cousin Annmarie and I) asked one of the guards if he could give it to him, and he said he couldn't, they were not allowed. At this point, I kind of lost it and started to cry (real tears, not fake) :sad1: :sad1: while Annmarie went into the bathroom. So I am standing by the entranceway to the front section, where all the VIPs are sitting, all the people with BSP (backstage passes), and people are walking by me, back and forth. Finally, this really nice, very good looking, young British guy stops and asks me "Are you alright". I told him I wasn't and he asked me what was the matter. I say, it's stupid, but then proceed to tell him how I am a huge fan of Elton's for 35 years, and I made this card (showed him the card) and now I couldn't give it to him, and all I wanted was for Elton to have it, and how I felt like a blubbering idiot at the age of 47. So he says to me "Oh, I'm a good friend of Elton's, I can give it to him for you". I say, "No way, you're s*****g me", he said, no he really is friends with Elton. So he tells me to wait there and he'll be right back. Then Annmarie comes out of the bathroom, I tell her the whole story, she says "Do you think it's for real". I said yes. So Ed (we find his name out) comes back and takes the poster, and then the guard comes over and tells him he absolutely cannot take it. He apologizes, we say thank you, I go to throw the card in garbage, but Annmarie takes it out and tells me no....glad I didn't throw it away, here's why.....

I am a little disappointed, but feel ok, because I think Ed may tell Elton about the card. Anyway, after the show we are with some other friends that we have to meet to go back home. So I call Sam, and she tells me that they are waiting on 31st between 7th and 8th, which is the back entrance to the Garden, and all the celebs come out that way. Supposedly EJ is coming out there, lots of people waiting, cops, paparrazi, so it's possible. So Annmarie and I head over there, and start talking with the cops, show him my card, and he tells us to wait by the other door because Elton was going to come over there. We didn't believe him at first, but went anyway. Then all the VIPs start coming out. We met Ed again, and he was with some other friends, and said to them "Oh, these are the girls I told you about", so he had already told people about us....good sign. Then I met another VIP guy (didn't get his name) who saw my card and took a picture with his cell phone of the front and inside and told me Elton was going to get it (as he got into his lim). We also saw Elizabeth Hurley (she is beautiful) get into her car right next to us, as well as Liv Tyler. Then all of a sudden, somebody says "HERE HE COMES" And out walks Elton John, and now there he is about 5 feet in front of me, face to face. Now the cops had put up one of those blue barricades (which you know I was already on the other side of) so I held up my card and tried to give it to him. He looked straight at Annmarie and I, smiled and said "I'm sorry I can't take it." But he saw it and he spoke to me....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Closest I ever got to him, it will have to do for now. All I had to do was take 5 steps and I would have been able to shake his hand, but with my luck I would have been arrested, and I really didn't want to end the night like that. It was just enough for me. Of course, we got some pictures during the concert, but not of that. Annmarie has a dark picture because her flash didn't go off and my camera had died.

I know, I am rambling, but there is more. After EJ got into his black SUV (no limo), a British woman started talking to me, asked me if I was a fan, I showed her the card, and she started writing. She was a reporter from the British newspaper, The Standard, which I believe is a big paper in London, Lynn help me out here. She interviewed me and Annmarie and took our names, where we lived and ages. So Lynn I am not sure if you get that paper or have access to it, but if you do can you check for me, and send me a copy of the article. I would believe it would be in the paper this week, if not already yesterday.

So that is my exciting story, I am still kind of on Cloud 9. Although I didn't actually touch him or get an autograph, I think I can say that I met him, does it count.

Well you guys asked for it, I don't talk for weeks, then I go on and on and on.

Debi

Yeah, Annmarie left me a message this morning, that do you actually realize you spoke to him and he spoke back to you. She said she is on 2 day time delay. LOL.

Debi

the ONLY famous person I've ever met after a show (Broadway show) was
Henry Winkler - I thought that was GREAT.....AND the fact that he was as
short as I am!
We were also waiting for John Ritter to come out of the backstage, but he never did - wish I could have met him too.

WOW! What a story, Debs...........persistancy paid off.........what a night!! I watched my taped "View" and Rosie was saying that she thought the show was AMAZING!! I would have died to see EJ playing his old stuff.......one of these days..................WTG, DEBS!!:thumbsup2

You did great!!!:goodvibes  :woohoo:

No news here..........we're doing our elementary school play this week, Annie...................what stress.......it makes the year go quickly....:dance3:

Our final performance is Thursday..........then one day until Spring Break!!!:dance3:

Hope all are well!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! I cannot believe how exciting that is Debi! YOu know you need to go out to LV to see him. In the show the first row or two gets to actually go up on stage during a song and stand around the red piano!!!!!! That would be awesome for you for sure!!!!

Will Lynn, Debi and Bill PLEASE keep me company??? Will you check in with me JoAnn???? I know I have already gone, but someone has to entertain me!!!:rotfl2: OH! I will be gone Sat-Mon. It's baseball season!!! I will only be on Fri, Tues-Friday.......

I met Henry Winkler too, actually spent a whole day with him when he was Principal for a Day at our elementary school. Briana was in 5th grade, and I got to take lots of pictures of and with him! He is such a nice man!!!!!! I also met Bill Cosby and Walt Frazier when they were Principal for a Day. Our principal was a showman, loved publicity and knew a lot of people.

Now Jenny That would be awesome. Maybe when I plan my Vegas trip next year for Alex's 21st, I will have to plan around getting front row seats for that show. No price is too high for Elton!!!!! I will pay......

Debi

Jenny, I will bring my laptop to SB...... ........if I survive this week............we have the school play and of course, I am running a soccer clinic for Jess's HS soccer team..................I forgot to say, "NO!":headache:

Jess's first game is tomorrow and I have to miss most of it to help with the dress rehearsal...........:scared1:

At least one of us will be in WDW...................:cloud9:

Wow, Jenny, I could really do the 'red' piano deal with EJ!!! Ken will be 50 on 5/7.........perhaps a trip is in order...........

Ok, Ok,.............who's in for the 50th BDAY EJ RED PIANO TRIP TO VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

I know you're all dying to know how today worked out...................I snuck away from rehearsal and saw Jess's first half and overtime play..... I was there for all the performances and of course, I'll be there all day and night tomorrow.............I don't need to mention that I NEVER get to the gym anymore...........:confused3

Oh well, I have curves in SB next week for sure!!:rotfl2:

the suitcases are at the high school.:dance3:
First time EVER I've been packed the night before a trip...had no choice.:cool1: :woohoo:

Only the overnight bag, and since I can't have cosmetics, that will be easy - a pillow and a CD player with my Barry Manilow, Elton John and AIDA!:cheer2:

I can't even IMAGINE, 5 days without:laundy: :laundy: :yay:

I will miss my mom and worry, of course. NO, I'm not telling her I'm leaving, it would upset her at the time and then she would forget, why upset her?:sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

NOW, don't laugh, but my next job is to move ALL the wine bottles, wine coolers, etc. OUT of the house and take them to my friend's house, who is going along. NO LIQUOR will be left in this house by us - does anyone understand this?:grouphug: BIG son has off, unfortunately, Friday, Sat., Sun, and Mon.!!!! Thank goodness he is working next Tuesday thru the following Monday, but those days he is HOME, I'm worried. AND, this morning, the hot water heater was acting funky - we can't win, can we?:confused3 :scared1:

Ok, show's over, I survived another year................:rolleyes1

Have a blast, Lossey, and STOP WORRYING.....you're going to WDW!!! ....jealous.....of course.......:dance3: (Sneak away from the kids and have an Italian Limoncella Margarita for me in Italy!! )

Allow me to brag, the Jesster, SCORED THREE GOALS AND ONE ASSIST today!!....HER HS TEAM WON 4-0...........Now, before you think that I'm an obnoxious braggy parent.........everyone knows that she's good at soccer and that she's trying to play Division 1 college soccer and she's been going to alot of college showcases this year....blah, blah, blah....

May I just mention that ......SHE ONLY SCORED 2 GOALS AND 1 ASSIST ALL LAST YEAR IN HER HS SEASON!!!!! Anyway, all I can say is that "things are looking up!" :woohoo: :thumbsup2

Debi, I REALLY WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE EJ WITH THE RED PIANO, we could all use Bob & Ken's 50th BDAY for our excuse (and then as we all have BIG BDAYS we could go back over and over!!!) :cheer2: :flower3:

TO JESS

No time to talk:lmao:

Jess you'll get a red card if you listen to Lucy, she's american and doesn't get soccer go and kick ball not Butt:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Seriously congratulations!!!
Does Jess follow any UK teams? I bet she'd love a staduim tour in Barcelona it's supposed to be a good tour!

Funny, Lynn! I will tell Jess about the Barcelona idea! She hasn't seen European soccer yet.......:confused3

Have a blast Lucy in WDW............we are jealous!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning we are hosting the HS soccer clinic.......about 50 players......:yay: I bet you all wish you were me right now!!

Anyway, Spring Break is finally here............when we return we'll have just over 2 months of school to go! As much as I love summer, I really have a great group and I'll miss this bunch!!!

Jess is putting up some very impressive numbers!! I have to admit, I know very little about soccer. :sad2: My kids have never really expressed interest in playing, so I haven't really studied the game. What's most interestingis that the university right here in town has won MANY NCAA championships. (Lynn that is the what the colleges in our country participate in, making them one of the top colleges in the nation for soccer). I went to see a game once, but that's my limit. :confused3 I bet European soccer is amazing. That is such their forte!:thumbsup2

Did anyone see where Mia Hamm had TWINS with Nomar Garciaparra (the famous baseball player) this week???:scared1: :scared1:

Speaking of baseball....it begins Monday. :yay: I am SO READY!! :cool1: We are leaving this morning to go to Cincy and hang out. This is a great day for the indoor pool and a pizza!! Cincinnati puts on a big event on Opening Day. They have a huge parade downtown and celebrations everywhere. All the radio stations have their set ups at different places so it's fun to skip around and see all the "celebs". The local kids skip school to come downtown and celebrate as well!

I'll have to send pictures....Miss Mallory got her hair CUT OFF!! My hairdresser cut off around 8" of which Mallory chose to donate to "Locks of Love". That is an organization that takes human hair and produces wigs for cancer patients. It now hits her shoulders. She is VERY EXCITED AND LOVES IT. Personally, it killed me! She looks good, but it's weird because she's always had that long hair!

I'll be home Monday night! Debi, Lynn, JoAnn and Bill.....hold down the boards and I'll be back!!!!

Boy, this is a huge burden with everyone leaving this w/e! Jeni, email us Mal's picture....we want to see the "new" look!!:thumbsup2

The soccer clinic is over.....we made $1395 for the soccer team..........maybe I should give up my day job!!!:rotfl2:

Just visited Ken's mom, she seems to be doing well......

Hope the LuLu, is having fun with the HS kids in WDW...she probably misses us though........popcorn::

Spring Break is on, baby!! Heading down to SB tomorrow...........next w/e we're going to NJ to visit with the "rents!":dance3:

Me again...........(the only one apparently.......)...........heading down to the airport in about 15...............talk to you all soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
