I like that "The Dis Father"!! :lmao: It sounds so "gangsterish"!!!! :happytv: And since he lives so close to Atlantic City, it's way fitting!

Well here goes...........

Happy Father's Day (early) to all our Fathers!!

Bill (Our Honorary Dis Father)
Mark
Micco
Bob
Ted
Ken

I sure hope I didn't miss any Dads!!! :confused3

OMG, I have a new name for our "man".....DISDADDY! :rotfl:

Welcome back, Dad! I also agree that for some people, the end of the school year, is like a full moon, it brings out the craziness in some people! WTG, it's over! I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, well, there's been a Bill sighting, how about Debi & Kathy & Lynn???? :wizard:

We got back a few hours ago. We had a great week. Tuesday was a wash out thanks to Alberto but other than that we had beautiful weather. I just love it there. Jenny, you guys should definitely check it out. The beach is gorgeous. The water temperature was 82 degrees! I'm afraid to step on the scale. It can't be good. The food down there is really good. I tried to behave...lots of vegetables and fresh fish but I did have sorbet a couple of times...and a few frozen margaritas.

It looks like I'm going to be staying at the BWV with you guys after all. I just finished going through my 378 emails and there was one from a woman I rented points to this summer. She has changed her reservation at least 3 times but this time she swears is her last and she gave me back the extra 34 points to use as I like. I was short an additional 34 points which I just bought from my $8.00/point source so on Monday I'll have a reservation in a standard studio 28-30 July and a preferred studio 31 July. I've waitlisted for the standard studio on 31 July. I really don't want to change rooms. This whole switchero saved me $189.50 verses the cost of the Swan with Mears. I can now use DME. And I won't have to sneak into the pool!

I'll write more later. I've got to grocery shop and unpack, etc.

Really cool, Kath! WTG about the BWV!!! Welcome back!!!

We were deep in page 2....

Is anyone going to be using the dining plan at WDW next month? Now that I'll be staying at BWV I'm thinking about it. It's only $37.99/day (kids are only $10.99/day) and it includes a snack, counter service and table service meal per day. I've read that the snack options have been expanded to include Dole Whips and Mickey Bars (Lucy!) among many other things like pasteries, etc. Many people are now using their snack for breakfast. Since we are going to LeCellier and the Clambake at Cape May Cafe for dinner on Friday and Saturday, I think it's worth it as tax and gratuity are included. JoAnn, do we have a dinner plan for Sunday evening? I'll still have my DDE card with me and I think that Lucy has one too so we'll have to weigh the DP against 20% off.

JoAnn, you'll be cruising this time next week! You're sailing out of Baltimore, right? Have a great time! I can't wait to hear all about it.

That's a good idea, do you just add it on to your package? Or it is a DVC thing, Kathy? Sorry I haven't been following this one! Yes, we are leaving on Friday, it's time to start getting ready!! Happy Father's Day to all especially......DisDaddy!!!

Hi everyone I'm back exhausted but back safe and sound..
Jenny Joann is right a residential is where we take the kids away. This one was to the New Forest for 4 nights with our 10 and 11year olds. They leave us at the end of July so this is their treat after their exams which they just sat.
We made rafts, kayaked, abseiled, climbed, walked, and did a high ropes course as well as several other activities, couple of funny tales but you'll have to wait til I'm a little more awake.
Got back Friday did washing and then early Sat am headed to Wales with Keith. 5 of his friends having a 60th birthday bash OMG 60 I did tell you there was a big age gap between us didn't I!!! and Keith was the baby of his group of friends too honest!
We had a great time but very little sleep so I'm off now to catch up.

Well Done Joann Enjoy your holidays
Lynn

Welcome back, Lynn! Thx for the info, but, what is abseiled?? Have fun in Wales! There was a CM from Wales, years ago, who sailed on the DCL Magic, does anyone remember John from Wales?? He was a entertainer with Ian a few years ago. Anyway, he was from Wales, so tell him "Hi" when you see him! (jkjkjkjk) :thumbsup2

We miss you Lucy, Jenny, DEB, at least Kathy, Lynn & I have been checking in! :goodvibes

Hope all are well! :cool1:

JoAnn, The dining plan pricing that I quoted is for DVC reservations. You just call Member Services and they add it on to your reservation and you pay for it when you check in. I haven't used it before as it just became available to DVC members in April but I've already added it to our August and October reservations.

Friday! You must be busy cleaning before your trip! I would love to sail aboard 'Freedom of the Seas' in the Summer of 2008. Are you going to gamble on the ship? We took my dad and stepmom on a Alaskan cruise in 1997 on NCL. My dad won over $2K in the casino. It was his favorite trip of all time.

Lynn, Your trip sounds like it was alot of fun but exhausting. Welcome home.

Where's Lucy??

As you would probably expect.... My JoAnAnn out did herself with gifts again  ...as was expected ,a very pretty "CANDLE"...., :goodvibes and a beautiful card.. two actually... one was a resemblence to me.. :rotfl: which can only be appreciated if in ones hand...!! :thumbsup2 the other was a gushy, sentimental tear jerker.. The other gift was outstanding...a gift certificate for golf lessons...or a round of golf... :cheer2: looks like another box of balls ,as Brigantine 's course tends to be moist..
So we spent most of the day on the beach... it was blustery, but warm enough
Hope this note finds you"all in good health..... :wave2:

Sorry guys, I can't believe it's been over a week since I have been on. Happy belated Father's Day to all the dads. Well anyway, the cookie was in the cookie jar yesterday. I flew Alex home on Saturday night to surprise her dad for Father's Day. She had to go back last night because she had to get her stuff moved into the new place and be at work for 9 this morning. Micco was really surprised and quite happy with his Father's Day gift. It made getting through this long stretch to the end of July that much more bearable. We had a nice day yesterday, went out to brunch and just spent the day chillin in the back yard.

Alex's new place is not a townhouse, it is a small house with a pool in the backyard. And maintenance comes and cleans the pool. There is a 2 acre pool with lazy river in the complex, spa, and lots of other stuff. It's a little bit more of a drive for her, but FREE IS GOOD!! A little extra $$ in the paycheck every week.

As far as the store, today it is 2 months since the fire, and NOTHING has been fixed yet. I got some insurance money last week, and am able to make new purchases, but I have nowhere to put it all. Plus, I discovered last week that the a/c is not working, how great is that...with the weather being in the 90s.

I know it is less than 40 days till we go to DW, I am not sure exactly, I will have to ask Briana, she is my official Disney ticker. Tomorrow is her last Regents exam, she has 2 exams today. Then they just have to go in next week to pick up their report cards. I have been doing a lot of praying and will be continuing to pray through next week that she passes all of her regents and finals and does not have to go to summer school. If anyone wants to join me in a prayer, we could use all the prayers we can get here.

Hope you all have a great day, again sorry I was missing for the last week.

Debi

Welcome back, DEbi! What a sweet Father's Day surprise....great idea!! :thumbsup2

Thx Kathy, I booked this trip with money not points! Last trip I was on points at GF! I will do all the work starting tomorrow, this weekend I went to the shore to enjoy the beach and get blown around by the blustery winds!!! :confused3 My brother just did this exact same cruise last month and he was telling us about it and it sounds really good!

We saw all the family and enjoyed being with the all the girls! :grouphug: (hahahahahahaha)

Yes, DisDaddy received a "candle" and so did Ken!! However, there were other gifts as well! HUMPF! :furious:

I wonder if Lucy or Jenny will ever come back??? :wave2:

First off, I'm so happy for you and Micco, Debs....that was the best surprise and gift (BUT, wait till I tell you my present, Debs, I betcha you will CRY)! :cool1: ONE MORE MONTH and we'll all see Alex.

Bob doesn't USUALLY pull surprises on me, but this was the BIGGEST one I EVER had....
Sit down everyone. This is gonna be a LONG one! :chat:

Friday, we both had off....he tells me we are going on a "little vacation" - made arrangements for the boys!!!! packed my suitcase :cool1:
On the road by 7 AM...have NO idea where we are going :sad2:
We head west on the turnpike, I had a clue when we were nearing Pittsburgh, that we were visiting my cousin and her husband (was REALLY confused then, we don't even care for my cousin or her husband) - WE PASS PITTSBURGH...I'm happy :dance3: :dance3: we won't be visiting...but where the heck are we going....we take a break over the PA border at a JCPenney - he is looking for something...I have NO clue what...but do I EVER mind stopping at a mall. :sad2: :bounce:
Does anyone want to guess the next sign I see that I recognize........
Cincinnati....what the HECK am I doing in Cincinnati....I know NOONE in that town....we pull up in front of the Hyatt...who is getting out of the car IN FRONT OF US....Mark and Jenny Fisher! HONESTLY.............................OMG :bounce: :rotfl:   :woohoo: :yay:

Bob and Mark set up a weekend of baseball and being together for Father's Day (it was a gift for all...being away from the children)......he stopped at the mall to get Cincinnati Reds shirts for us and couldn't find any.....i don't know how those men timed it but we pulled up at the SAME TIME! :drive:
What more can I say...Bob and I had a GREAT weekend....we finally DID find Reds shirts....but DON'T ask Jenny about the game :sad2: :sad1:
MAN, those people know EVERYTHING about the game and about the Reds....
I even learned a thing or two...we had some great meals.....was introduced to some local chili and their wonderful ice cream....had a 'few' drinks.
We left this morning :moped: and it wasn't even sad because both of us are looking forward to seeing EVERYONE in WDW next month! ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

Trust me, if you get her to have the 2nd glass of wine...... :rotfl2: :lmao:

Great time in the city! No kids (well, if Mark doesn't count! :lmao: ) was a definite plus! It was nice to see Bob and Lucy and show them around the city. Mark hates Cincinnati Chili (Skyline), so it was a real treat to "dump" him and go eat! :rotfl: I bet Lucy is still craving more black raspberry chip ice cream!!!! How about those deep fried pickles, Lucy??? You guys will have to ask her about "my boyfriend" at the game on Sat. Oh, man, it was a good thing Mark didn't notice what this guy was up to!!! popcorn:: This guy was so smashed, I would have been afraid to light a match, but obviously he was smashed or he would have not been stalking me!!! :sad2:

I was hoping Bob and Lucy would bring luck, but we must be out of luck!

Hey Debs, the Reds are in your neck of the woods at Shea tonight.....go easy on them. It's been rough lately!!!! I hope all goes well with Bri's tests ("Now I lay me down to sleep......."!!!!!! Not that I'm in good graces with the "big guy"!!!) She'll do fine. What a great Father's Day gift too!!! He had to be psyched! I hope the shop repairs start coming around soon. I cannot imagine your frustration! :sad2:

Lynn Great to have you back on the board. I cannot imagine going with kids for a week other than my own!! You are an angel!

I am so glad Kathy and family had a great time and BWV!!!! :woohoo: Let the party begin!!!!

JoAnn Good call on the candle! :rotfl2: I am so jealous you'll be cruising this weekend!!!! pirate: When is our Segway tour, do you remember off hand???

DisDaddy I wish you and "Big Al" would still consider a short jaunt to WDW. Marshall needs a fishing buddy!!! :yay:

It doesn't take much for Lucy to 'be happy', people....I am a VERY CHEAP
date! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Because of my age and failing memory, I'd like to take a recount on when everyone is arriving.
Bob and Lucy, July 20-23, Universal
WDW, BWV: SUNDAY, July 23, approx. 10:30 AM
Jenny & Mark? :confused3
Deb & Micco? :confused3
JoAnn & Ken? :confused3
Kathy? :confused3

Lynn? :confused3
Bill? :confused3

Also, Jenny had me stay up past my bedtime this weekend (9 PM).....
I am a very tired old lady tonight. :furious:
BUT, I get the feeling, I've got to change my habits when everyone arrives, right? WHAT CLUB ARE WE DANCING AT EVERY NIGHT?

Well...............I knew SOMETHING was up this weekend, when BOTH Lucy & Jenny were missing!!! :confused3 But again, how sweet! I hope you all had fun!!

Kathy, Debi, Lynn, DisDAddy & I kept this thread alive in the meantime!!!

We are scheduled for the Segway on Sat morning July 29th at (I think) 9:30am. I will check tomorrow and confirm! We are arriving on Friday, July 28th and leaving on Monday, July 31st. Our ressies are Fri at CMC at 5:30pm and Le Cellier on Sat night at (8:30pm, I think) There is no ressie on Sunday night b/c ESPN didn't take ressies. Keep in mind, if anyone has a better idea please let me know and we can change anything! I just wanted to reserve something so we could hang out together! Don't forget Margarita night!!! :grouphug: :hourglass

Lucy, You did well for an "old woman"!!! :lmao:

I am telling you folks, the cover is about $7, but Jelly Rolls sounded like so much fun when we went by last spring. However, it definitely sounded like a place to go with a "fun group"! :wave2: "Sweet Caroline, dum, dum, dum"!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: The music at Atlantic Dance that night was making Mark and I feel "a little old"!!! :lmao: Doesn't take much!!! :rolleyes1

Sounds good, Jenny! Let me know and I'll change whatever you guys want!

BTW, GL Bri on those finals!!!

No need to change anything! Jelly Rolls is a dueling piano bar, so we can drop in any evening! You've done a great job on ressies! We should keep what we have and then we can adjust if needed to see "Minnie" in action if it were to be a character meal!!!

Bob and Lucy's Bryan will be celebrating his b-day on LeCellier night!
