***Hey, Hey! Come right in and plan, OFFICIAL OCTOBER 2017 thread!!!***

@Deb286 I brought drinks from the bar at Beach Club back to our room. I would assume it's the same at all hotels, but one never knows...I mean, as long as you aren't leaving the property, I don't see why not!

Let's talk. :chat:

What do you all do on arrival day? ?

Since my plane wont land until 9:30 pm I'll likely just check into the hotel and go to bed. Rope drop will come early the next day and we will be jet lagged. It will be a long day with us leaving home around 6:30 am and probably not getting into our room until around 11:00.

Thanks Farro. Just like the idea of relaxing out on the balcony with a margarita once the kids have gone to bed!!

We are flying into MCO from Detroit about 8:30 pm.. Taking a local, cheap hotel shuttle to cheap hotel near MCO with free breakfast, then shuttle back to MCO for ME pick up at 8 am.. check in at CBR, dump bags to be delivered when room is ready.. Plan to be at MK by 10 am.. Who's with me!!?? Anyway, this is the plan. hope it works. We (DH and I) also plan to park hop to AK then Epcot to finish the day. I do believe I'm a bit wackco as Colonel Jack O'Neill would say! lol

Bah, what does HE know anyway, he just wants to go fishing! ;)

But great plan, why spend the extra if you're getting in that late. When we arrive on the 28th of this month we are taking an early flight just so we can get to MK earlier. Totally worth getting up at 4 am!

We are doing the same, flight leaves at 5:30 AM. I'd rather spend the whole 1st day there then drive in and be too tired to do much.

We do early flights also - 7:00 AM central, and arrive around 11-12-ish. I never thought of taking a later flight a day early, and doing a cheap hotel with free breakfast, and then going back to MCO for ME....great idea!

Traditionally, our first day is Epcot...but it depends on closing time and what other events are going on. We know Food & Wine makes being at Epcot on the weekend a bit tricky (to say the least) - so this year we plan on having a nice dinner at Le Cellier and then doing the Illuminations Dessert Party - IF THEY EVERY SCHEDULE IT!!!

I am actually doing something similar. My first night is at ASMu 9/30 when I originally planed to arrive on 10/1 because I got a great price on a airfare but I will be arriving so late that I dont need dining credits or to pay extra to stay at a more expensive resort (100 more for 1 night when I wont arrive until bed time-No Way). Rather than booking that first night off site though I booked a value on site so I dont have to worry about my getting my luggage from the airport, wasting time shuttling here and there and checking in again when I want to hit rope drop, and Disney will move all my stuff over POFQ for me and I wont waste park time moving my bags. It might be worth crunching the numbers too. I originally looked at staying near MCO for that first night and it wasnt much of a difference to do the first night on site at an all star resort.

I've never had to switch resorts...have changed rooms within the same resort, and we just packed up our stuff and called bell services to store for us, then headed for park...when new room was ready, they texted us, and when it was a good time for a break, we headed back to the resort, checked in to our new room and had bell services bring the luggage.

Will they actually move your stuff from one resort to another? I always heard people having to slog it over themselves via taxi or personal car. Please tell me more!

Yep! according to this thread ...here... Bell services will move your luggage to a new resort for you! Booking one night at a value and transfering to your "regular" reservation the next day is the same thing as a split stay. The split stay thread has a bevy of info that makes it seem almost too easy. I plan to pack accordingly with the essential for the first night and first morning on top in my suitcase then after dressing in the morning drop the luggage off and have my perfect day one.

Packing for and moving during a split stay

d) Bell Services. By far, if you don't have a car, the easiest thing to do is to just simply give your luggage to Bell Services at the resort you're checking out of, and ask them to move it for you. It's done daily. It's a regular request. And often, they can give you an idea of what stop you'll be and about when you can expect it. From my understanding, there is one resort runner per hotel, and he/she runs luggage all day dropping and picking up. We have always dropped our luggage early (by 10 a.m.), head to a park, and then by the time we head to the new resort to check in (around 3 or so), our luggage has been there. There are exceptions, however, and I think the official stance is that you should allow up to several hours after you drop off your luggage with bell services at the original hotel to receive it at the next, so please make sure you have all necessities with you since there may be a period of time where your luggage is in transit and not accessible. You will want to tip the bellmen upon drop off and delivery of the luggage.

Thanks, Kindermouse. That post was from 3 years ago, and with all the cut back Disney has made lately, I'm wondering if they still do it? Has anyone here done this recently? Might be worth checking out ahead of time to avoid any nasty surprises...

It's a great service if they still do this!

It is an old thread but I also checked the info with more recent threads to check it for reliability and according to recent threads like this one https://www.disboards.com/threads/q...rty-late-nov-early-dec.3602073/#post-57559032
They still transfer luggage for split stays.

Back from my May trip yesterday so October can finally get some attention...I need to go through my daily plans again and maybe add in some ADRs/switch times, etc...

This poor trip has been neglected, lol!!

Is anyone else doing crazy mental gymnastics to try to cram in more F&W? I only have 3 parks days to play with, but I'm thinking of doing this:

Fri - Epcot AM & FW afternoon, MK MNSSHP PM
Sat - AK all day, Pandora & ROL
Sun - MK til noon, resort break, HS with FP 4-7, walk/boat over to Epcot for more F&W and Illuminations!

We've never done 3 parks in one day but we'll be on the monorail line so I feel like it might be doable. Are crowds terrible on Sunday evenings?

I just read the best thing!!!

I had absolutely no idea that you are now able to book you 4th fast pass IN ANOTHER PARK!!!
Last time we went this was not allowed. You couldn't even book a 4th.

Wow! This definitely makes things more interesting...
Yep. And you can do it as soon as you check in for your 3rd FP, too :)
