i have a quick question..
so the last day of my trip is the 3rd of November. I am thinking of adding a night. What are the possibilities the Castle will have the Christmas lights on by the 3rd?

I don't make ADRs until 4/28!

This trip is a different in my excitement level. This time I'm still excited, but I'm not having those endless long stretches until the trip comes. Like before all I wanted to do was pass time to get to vacation, now I'm just enjoying the time in between.

I think as you get older you just realize how fast time passes and the trip will be here before you know it! Also, after this I'll have gone 3 times since 2011, so that NEED to get to Disney is lessened for me, in a good way.

If the first party was that weekend, I'd say yes. But since the first party isn't until 11/8 and there is a Halloween party on 11/1, I'm not sure they will have it done by then.

We are staying in a King bed room. Has anyone stayed in those rooms? Just was wondering about others who had stayed in them and what they thought,

I stayed in a King room last fall at CSR. It was nice! Plenty of extra room for your things!

I have to be honest, I love hearing the music in all the parks, I don't like at Christmas that they apparently play Christmas music...and the Halloween decorations are just enough, you still get the "regular" feel of the park. I don't want to visit at Christmas.

Christmas is my favorite time of year, I love to just feel it at home!

OMG! I totally agree on that point. Although I LOVE Christmas music, I don't enjoy hearing it at every park I go to. I told my husband on the last trip if I hear one more happy Christmas song, I'm gonna scream! I mean it is everywhere! I missed the EPCOT music that you would usually hear when we usually go in December. I can't wait to hear the "park" music in the parks this year. I do love the decorations though. I loved the way they really decorated DHS this year. Very vintage retro with lots of tinsel decorations! Loved it!

Not sure when the first official lighting will be, but the dream lights have always been on the castle by our mid-October trips. So it will be "ready" - just not sure when it will start. I do think in prior years it has started prior to the first party, though.

After all my note making and planning - disappointed to just realise I won't be home when our ADR's open up in 11 days time - I will be having to get on line in a coffee shop - not must chance so I'm preparing for having to ring up an hour later - anyone had any success in that situation of getting their hoped for bookings?

The Splash refurb is still just a rumor but it comes from a pretty credible source so Im gonna bank on it happening and if it doesnt it will be pixie dust.

We are going in October. Our dates are 10/6-10/9 Pop and 10/9-10/15 Poly DVC. This is our first time renting points, staying at Poly, and doing a split stay. I had to book our ADR's on two days because of the split stay. I was worried I wouldn't get BOG PPO this morning because I needed it for the first day of our stay at Poly. Got exactly the time I wanted for that and all my other ADR's. I'm so excited!!!!

I'm sad about this also, but the rumor is they moved the time up because something else will be going down for refurbishment in January.
