When can this Southern Girl pencil into her calendar for the snow to stop????

I'm freezing up here!!!;)

Jodi:flower3:

Definitely May.... We used to participate in the Pgh home show every year which is in March and it always snowed.

Ahhhh and its not even cold and snowy this year! Just do what my mom does, she gets her long underwear out in October and takes it off in May!

MAY??? MAY?????:scared1:

From where I'm from, in May, we've already had the air condition running for a month or so and were already brown as a berry! Oh, I think I'm about to expire!:faint:

Yeah May is probably a safe bet, can't say April because I remember quite a few snowy Easter's growing up!

That’s true I do remember sled riding Easters!
And as for AC.......maybe July?

Although May would be a safe bet, chances are you won't see much snow past March. :) Now, I am saying MUCH snow, because there definitely CAN be snow past March, but it is more likely that on MOST days in April and May, there WON'T be snow. :) (Actually in May, I would think that it is MORE likely to have an 80 degree plus day than a snow day! :) )

But...

I'm almost scared to ask this...
Will the snow be replaced with...rain?????

I need some sun in my life. I've been here now for 4 weeks and I haven't seen much in the way of that big orange thing in the sky.:)

The past couple of Mays have been downright chilly, all the way to Memorial weekend! We went to FL in the beginning of June and we were SO not ready for the heat after those cooler days of May.

Last May was fantastic......most of last summer was good. 3 years ago we had nothing but rain all summer. I think it rained all but one day. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope that it is hot sunny and dry this summer! My business could sure use it!

Well...my oldest DD moved to Richmond, VA almost 2 years ago. My second oldest is going to school in Durham, NC. I don't know if they will ever live here again. Does that tell you something? :teeth:

When I ask about the weather in Durham, DD will tell me "It's sunny here. It's most often sunny here. There's a REASON they call it Carolina Blue!" Don't know that I have ever heard of Pittsburgh Blue... ;)

Only ray of sunshine you'll find during the winter in the 'burg is in a tanning bed;) ...
and on the DIS boards of course:banana:

btw, this is the mildest winter so far I can remember.:scared1:

didn't turn my furnace on until shortly before Xmas:santa:

of course that makes us natives enjoy the good weather when it does come our way...didn't you ever wonder why we all try to head south in February:rotfl: ?

Um,
Carolina girl here, born and bred for 26 years.

I just don't think it's in my genes to be so cold all the time.

Give me heat, humidity, mosquitoes. Heck, I'd even take seeing some Palmetto bugs (ie:roaches) in order to have some sunny, warm days.:scared1:

That being said,
There's a frozen pool in the back yard that the kids just can't wait to hop in to. I keep telling them a polar bear plunge is in order.:rolleyes1

The snow isn't usually too bad here, IMO. I haven't seen a really bad snow storm since March 93, remember that? Now, in the 70's we had much more snowy winters, IMO.

But the cold? Expect that for at least another month at least. And then, yes...it will be rainy. Be glad we have a deep freeze, it makes the bugs not as bad.

93 now that was fun...I was at Hidden Valley. We literally got snowed in, we could not open the front door, we had to open the sliding door and climb out! It was great!
