We will be having a lovely dinner at Raglan Road, most likely followed by some time at the Adventurers Club.

It is just a few hours from 40 days, so time for another look back at our first three trips.

So many of you know that pooksma is off on a ladies only shopping trip to Bangor and she left me in charge of this trip report. Well I thought things were getting a little boring so I decided it was time for a change. Reading through the Dis this morning, I came across a thread that said the August codes were released.

So I said to myself, "Self, I wonder if any of these codes will apply to us? I guess I better get in touch with Liz at Dream Come True (our TA extradinaire) and see."

The problem with this was that this week we installed a new hard drive in our computer and we lost all our contact information. Off to their website and I use their contact form to ask my question. I quickly get an answer saying she had just left a voice mail for me. Basically, the message said POFQ and POR had no rooms but we could switch to a king room at CBR or CSR and it would save us about $200. Hmm, what should I do.

Call up Liz and ask her opinion. She says they are both large resorts and CBR's main pool is under rehab. Pool is no problem, Declan is the swimmer and he's not coming. We're planning on visitnig EPCOT a lot, CBR is right next door, so let's make the switch

So now we are staying at CBR instead of POFQ. I hope pooskma is happy.

(psst. Do you really think I wouldn't have checked first. Cell phones are wonderful inventions. And she even had it turned on today.)

You got me. I missed the little note at the bottom until I got ready to reply. Good for your guys. It's always awesome to save some money and $200 is definitely nothing to sneeze at. Plus you're right next to EPCOT, which is my favorite park!! Way to go! :thumbsup2

Let me know what you think of CBR! My trip is planned there for December, it will complete my "moderate" circle! I Will have stayed at all of them after that!

Oooooh, me too! I was thinking, "I hope Ma is okay with this," and then I saw that itty bitty very light scribbling at the bottom. I shouldn't be surprised, though, huh?!?! Boys like to aggravate and tease girls, and men like to aggravate and tease women. I think it's just a law of some kind, and they're good at keeping it!

So CBR it is! Good for saving the money. Maybe you can book something extra with that - a nice dinner or a special tour or something. (Or you could leave it in the bank and let it draw much interest until your 2009 trip.)

I haven't seen much of Caribbean Beach. That's where Jill and John went for their honeymoon. We ate there on our last day of last summer's trip, but it was raining, so we only walked around for about five minutes. I'll see if I can get over there and get you some pictures. I was going to get POFQ pictures, but they offer beignets, so that was a perk for going there. Wonder what sweet goodie I can find to entice me to go to Caribbean Beach?!?! I liked the atmosphere there, but we just didn't stay long enough to really explore, so I'll be happy to go back.

Just checking in on the menfolk to see that you're okay while Ma is away. Hope you guys are having fun, and I hope she is having even more fun!!!

We are more than fine, thanks for asking. I mean with my mother-in-law making us supper for the last two days, life has been pretty easy. Now if I could have only found someine to teach my classes, it would have been perfect.

:lmao:

We certainly will. I'm looking forward to all the new picture opportunities and it certainly looks like a relaxing spot.

Aww - just found this pre-trip report!

We, too, are going just the parents in August this year :)

Actually, we weren't going to Disney at all last year. We went to the Nick Hotel in April 2007 instead. (I did get to go shopping at DTD on that trip and while we were there we got Dream lanyards ;) ).

Anyway, in late June we found out about a deal on Southwest that was tooooo good to pass up - so the whole family went in July 2007.

RIGHT after we got home I booked the parents only trip for April 2008. However, when it came time to get flights - the prices were out of this world.

So, sadly, we had to postpone til August. It's been really hard and it will have been over a year by the time we get back!

BUT, the awesome news is that when free dining came out I was able to upgrade us from POP to the WL for only a little bit more :) Our first time at a deluxe so I'm thinking all this waiting will pay off in the end!

ANYway, when I saw you guys were going adults only in August I thought maybe we'd see you - but we're there 8/28 - 9/1.

Have fun and absolutely enjoy the time together in the World!!

Now I just have to go back and read the 19 pages I've missed to catch up!

OMG - I was just reading back - I got that red Mickey shirt too!! Just last week for $4! AND, some awesome new Mickey sunglasses :)

Welcome aboard!

We don't get to do free dining. DW doesn't have the flexibility in her vacation. She goes back to school just after free dining starts. It was the same last year when we had to leave just a few days before it started.

July is going to be a busy month so we are enjoying some quiet family time over this long Canada Day weekend. Unlike many, DH has today off as well as tomorrow.

Shopping trip with the girls was great fun. Had the poop scared out of us when DH called during lunch on Thursday. (He never calls when I'm away)
Because I left the restaurant to take the call the ladies I was with were panicking too. So we had the code, CBR/POFQ/CSR discussion which ended with me saying "You decide honey. Whatever you would like to do.":scared1: :scared1: I know I know. It must have been the sale high that allowed me to relinquish control.:lmao:

Pick up some new duds for the trip and a wedding we are attending on the 19th. Now I know you guys will scoff but Kohl's has become my home away from home. I LOVE that place. We also hit a JC Penny 88 cent sale (they don't have things like that here). It was all about the deals this trip.

One set of Disney gems that I did pick up are shown below.

Wow!:thumbsup2 These things are FULL of cool info. A recommended read for sure ;)

I have to share that when I got home and had a chance visit the DIS, I agreed with DH's choice to move us to CBR. I have seen our ressie request from Liz at Dream Come True and as usual she has everything down pat:worship: .

I have a HUGE aversion to ground floor rooms  though and that is my only fear. She has told us it will be a king room and as long as its not an accessible room that we are taking from someone who needs it, I'm ok with that.

If any of you have been please share your positives with us.

So, we saved about $200. That money will be put to very good use. I can now share, since DH had to poke around in the Disney mail folder:rolleyes: (I really want a finger pointing smilie for this), a surprise I planned with Liz's help.

I booked DH and I for a couples massage at the Swan.

We are going after our late lunch at Le Cellier. I had hoped to keep it a secret until we arrived but when he reformatted our PC, the DIsney file got lost and blah blah blah (insert technical jargon here):surfweb: So the reveal happened long before it was supposed to.

More later-off to the gym!

OH! I think we have mind meld like the Little Green Men from Toy Story! First, we bought the same shirt (the red Mickey Mouse one) and now we bought the same book! I actually just ordered that book - the Imagineers Field Guide to the MK - glad to hear a positive review! Hope my copy arrives soon!!

:)

I also made a reveal - I had upgraded us from POP to WL when free dining came out and revealed it to DH this weekend :) He was thrilled. (The August codes don't help us at all since we already have free dining).

The EPCOT book has one mistake in the Canada section. It says that to redo the movie for Canada, the film makers visited all 12 provinces. We don't have 12 provinces, we have 10 and 3 territories. I don't know why Disney can't get it's Canadian facts right.

Congrats on the WL upgrade, that's a good one.

It must be a 3-way meld. I have the red shirt and we also have the books. :rotfl: :lmao: Although I have to admit DH is the one who bought the books.
