Anyone use Hertz rental car? I know its off site, wondering how far?, how often the vans run?, helpful with luggage, room for luggage? We usually use national but there prices are ridiculous!!!! FYI: Hertz is running an orlando special with some decent prices, also giving a decent discount with the entertainment card if anyone needs to know.

My husband prefers Hertz, mainly because he gets a free upgrade I think.

He gets the car while I get the luggage. One time when I flew down earlier, I did it all and had no problems. I think I called for a van from those courtesy phones on the baggage level. Anyway, a van was there almost immediately. Plenty of room for baggage and I did get help.

We've gotten Hertz a few times through Priceline, and we've never had to call the bus as it has always been there waiting. We always see it even when we don't use them. When we board, they help with the luggage and ask if we need any maps. Their location is only a few minutes from the airport, right outside the North Exit, just past the hotels. I have literally been pulling out in my car within 15 minutes from the time I boarded the bus.

I use Hertz all the time at MCO. I have never had to wait for the shuttle bus. Once you are on the bus you never wait more than a minute or two. The lot is several miles down the road. You will be driving past the airport in 10 or 15 mins.

I found it faster than using National onsite. I do curbside check in when I leave and then return the car. They have plenty of shuttle buses leaving from their lot also. If you have to get Captain Jack a shuttle driver you will love him. He sings, tells stores, throws in a little trivia. You will wish the ride was longer when he is driving.

They also have plenty of cars.

We just used Hertz for last trip...we only used them because they are the one car rental place at the train station. :D They were great...there was a mess up and they didn't have the right type of carseat for my DD4 and when I was pondering what to do (thinking how to get to walmart to buy car seat). I guess one of the Hertz guys ran out to check all the cars avalable for an intergrated car seat...so they ended up upgrading us to a minivan (from the compact car which was there an avaliable for us to rent) so we would have a car seat for DD4...so that was awesome and it wasn't like I fussed or argued or anything they just did it.
We did have trouble with our billing...at the trainstation there is a key drop off when there isn't a Hertz employee there. So we jsut dropped off the key liek we were told to do. They didn't charge us for the rental for a month and then they charged us nearly $200 more then we were quoted. I called and asked what happened and it turns out they forgot to use our AAA discount of 10% and they charged us for fuel even though we filled up and had the reciept showing that we did. The Hertz customer service person said no problem didn't ask for the gas reciept or anything, she refigured the bill and credited our credit card for the differance.
So I would rent from them again they took care of all the problems we had without a hassle or anything.

If you are a #1 Gold or #1 Express member and the debit card is listed in your profile yes you can use a debit card. You can't just walk up or make a reservation over the internet using a debit card.

They authorize the actual amount of the rental plus up to $50 over as a hold until you return the car.
