Hertz at Shades of Green

Has anyone ever rented from them at this location? Can you get to the resort easily if you are staying at POP?

If you want to avoid cab fee you could take Disney transportation to Poly and then walk to Shades of Green. It is about a 15-20 minute walk.

We have not actually rented from there, but have stayed at SOG many times.

Are there buses from the parks to Shades of Green? If you are not a member of the military, are you allowed on the property?

Have Hertz pick you up. I have rented from there. They came to CBR to pick me up. I returned with them, completed the paperwork, and then had the car. Returned the car to SOG and they drove me back to CBR and it worked out just fine. Tell them what time to pick you up and they will do that. No problem.

Door to Door (Poly to SOG) is .5 miles.

Yes, just go the Polynesian and take the marked walkway to SoG.

The Hertz desk is in the main lobby.

Are there buses from the parks to Shades of Green? If you are not a member of the military, are you allowed on the property?

Yes, there are dedicated buses (owned by SoG, not Disney Transportation), but I believe you have to show a room key to get on those buses.

And, yes, non-military folks are allowed on the SoG property -- in fact, you can even shop at the AAFES General Store (Mini PX) for snacks/Disney souveniers -- the only exception is alcohol/tobacco (as they are tax-exempt, those items are sold to ID card holders, only).
