Here's an oddball question!

My DH is one of those guys who's always looking to get a 'deal.' We plan to buy into SSR next month and he told me this morning that he wants to talk to our guide (I've had all the communications so far) so he can get us a 'better deal.' Now, I KNOW Disney does not 'deal.' I keep telling him, "you are not buying a car!" So, my question is, when you buy through Disney, do they give you any sort of promotion gifts? Often, when buying a car, he's happy just to get a free baseball cap. He wears it like a badge of honor. LOL. I'm almost ready to call our guide and tell send him the money to "give" DH a hat when we get there for the tour/purchase. Anyone else married to one of these?

I am NOT married to one of those but I can answer your question.. You get a "free" back pack and litograph of your resort with your DVC purchase!

They also gave us the nice pen we signed the contract with. Don't forget the free ice cream at the preview center after you buy, although he won't be able to wear that around!

LOL. Obviously, you haven't seen my DH eat ice cream!! LOL

They do have baseball caps that say "Member" on them in their "giveaway inventory."

I would suspect that if you tell your guide that the hat is a deal maker/breaker - they could probably pull one out of the "prize closet."

If he's one of us that feel we MUST get the best deal possible and he doesn't get one better than the rest, will he balk? You might get a free lunch and a couple of free tickets but NO change in the price. In some cases you can negotiate use year and old points.

The question is whether your points will start with 2005 use year or you'll get the points from last year. It sounds like you won't have much chance to get the old points but it never hurts to try. Even though the price is slightly higher to get the old points, it's a good deal if you can use them or bank them.

OK,
It's not them same as a "free gift", but when I told my guide that I was working on winning over my DH and he likes to play golf, she sent us a couple different hardcover DVC promo books with every picture remotely golf related tagged with post its. My DH appreciated the attention and we bought!
