Here Now Report - MLK Weekend

I was at DHS today in the main store up front and I could not beleive how many people had short sleeves and shorts with flip flops on with no jacket plus they were complaining "this is supposed to be FL. why is it cold". Uh yea it is FL but we do get the artic air that comes in from Canada too every once and a while. They had to fork over money for sweatshirts/jackets. So I will tell everyone now going within the next few days pack a mixture of pants, shorts, sweatshirts, long sleeved shirt, short sleeved, and light jacket. It is supposed to be near 70 starting Sunday so it will be warmer during the day but in the 50's at night but no where near what tomorrow and Sat will be. I think 90% of this board would take 50's and 60's anyday. LOL. Everyone enjoy thier trips.

Thanks for checking in and the weather report, I'm bringing warm clothes but if it wasn't for this thread would forgotten the gloves.
We are leaving this afternoon, driving there and plan to be in the parks early sunday morning

I'm sorry...did you use "50 degrees" and "cold" in the same sentence? Considering it was -24 with a -47 wind chill this morning when I came to work if it's "only" 50 degrees when we arrive in 2 weeks I think we will all be in shorts and tank tops! Ok, maybe not quite but anything above freezing will feel quite balmy to us!

Hope we have 5 minute walk-ons too but I think the Superbowl in Tampa may work against us.

DH and i figured out even if its "Only" 55 degres when we arrive, it will be a difference of at the minimum of 50 degrees warmer than home.
I 'll take that and wear a hoodie anyday.
Atleast weh we get home, Winter will be alomst over

OK, OP here and I'm back. We were able to do a lot at MK and then decided not to wait outside to watch the parade and fireworks so headed downtown for dinner and shopping. Got back late so just crashed. Here are some pics.

Thanks for reminding me..I will remember to pack the gloves and toboggans.

One thing that was cool is Disney put out gloves, hats and blankets for sale. I just had not seen them before on previous trips because it had never been this cold. Nice to see something new.

We arrive Wed It was -30 this morning so 50 would be fine. I figure jacket, sweatshirt weather right? Is there rain in the forecast?

No rain thank god! I had a poloshirt and good windbreaker pullover and was too cold yesterday. Today it is forecast for a high of 56 so longsleeve T and sweatshirt too. Late night at Epcot planned too.

My DW says it is supposed to be a stage for a Stich show of some sort. She saw it on the boards somewhere but I haven't read about it myself.

Thanks for the report-we leave on Sunday-it's supposed to be in the 60's for most of next week w/ a few 70+ days thrown in there--I can't wait! School was closed today because of the zero temperature--so even though I know it will get a little chilly, anything seems better than here!

Also leaving DC behind for a long weekend! I think I'll DVR all of the craziness and go to Florida instead. Traffic was horrific this morning, and it's only Thursday. Tomorrow and Monday are gonna be terrible for DC...but warm and sunny for me in WDW! I'll take 65-degree queues in a heartbeat over 20-degree DC traffic.

Another DC Diser here! I am so glad to be heading down to WDW tomorrow too! It is getting crazy around here. I have talked to so many people from here headed to Disney this weekend. We should have a Dis Meet at Dulles.

Ok, epcot busy but not crazy. TT is down and no FP being distributed, maybe down for the day. 40 min wait at Soarin with FP for the 2-3pm range. Finger scanners are off, maybe anticipating a busy day. Colder temp this AM but sunny so feels better. Off to fun, check in later.

We leave Tuesday. It's pretty cold here in NC currently but I'm from NJ so it doesn't really affect me. I'm sort of glad it won't be too hot when we come down to Florida. I'd rather be chilly than hot.
