We are her now for our 20th anniversary trip, and it has been magical! Yesterday at Beaches and Cream we were recognized and given an anniversary balloon...and later on a CM gave us special front row viewing for Illuminations!!! Epcot was practically walk on for everything except the Test Track and Soarin!
Anyway..we are doing MK on the 3rd and Epcot on the 4th and I wondered what the best, least crowded (haha) viewing spot would be?

There are so many places to view IllumiNations at Epcot's World Showcase
that are wonderful in their own way that its futile to try to list them... so I will. ;)

• Bridge between UK and France
• Near the twin gift shops at the entrance to WS from FW
• Norway area
• Upper level (outside front terrace) of the Matsu No Ma Lounge in Japan
• Italy, near the Gondolas
• Mexico, at the new Cantina
• Mexico, bridge to the right of the Cantina (as you face the lagoon.)
• UK, the Rose & Crown outdoor dining area (ressies required.)
• UK, just to the left of the Rose & Crown (as you face the lagoon.)
• Many, many more great spots.

Be sure to avoid any tree branches that block your overhead view,
and watch out for any "islands" in the water
that block your view of the "center" of the lagoon.

Best Tip:
Don't stand down-wind of the fireworks.
Their SMOKE will ruin the show.

So, If the wind is blowing into your face as you look towards the Lagoon, you are in the wrong spot.
;)

MK's 4th of July fireworks are "park wide" - If you can be there on BOTH nights I'd recommend one night in the park and one night from the Polynesian beach or the Contemporary Observation deck as part of the California Grill (but it'll be crowded in both of those places too!)

For inside the park (I'd recommend July 3rd for that) you'll want anywhere on main street (including 2nd floor train station) or the Hub including the Crystal Palace lake overlook (I think the Tomorrowland side path is under construction)

This year, the Poly Beach would be an unwise choice in location.

The new DVC construction has cut the space way, way down.

Inside MK...

If you want to be able to see the new "show" that is actually projected on the front of the Castle,
"Celebrate the Magic," which begins about 15 minutes before the fireworks, you need to be
in a spot in which the front of the castle is clearly in view.

Below is a rough estimate of the Fireworks viewing spots
based on other posters' info on the boards and personal experience.

But. all of MK will be BUSY.

Is it the same as it was last Christmas or worse? It was cut in half when I was there last Christmas.

One of the best spots in my opinion is grabbing right in front of Casey's/ parlor on Main Street... We always stand right where the tape is the divides the walkway. Yes you will have people walking in front of you but there isn't heads directly in front of you. The gap usually gives enough space so you can see the whole castle for celebrate the magic and the fireworks. The only thing that might obstruct the view is kids on shoulders otherwise it's really good! Another thing too is for the peripheral fireworks when I saw them at Christmas time the trees were really overgrown so it blocked some of them but it was a good spot even with it! If you'd rather not stand there I would go up about halfway to the castle not all the way on the circle. If you get to close the castle will block the fireworks too. Hope this helps
