~~~Here it is!~~~ Illuminations Dessert Party June 18th registration thread!
Sorry to hear that the Good Morning Gathering @ Tony's is @ 9. I was hoping it was earlier too - especially since the wording was "guests are escorted from the front gate of the MK to Tony's....." :confused3
We'd still like to do it, though.
DJ, Tori was really hoping that your DD's would be there. Hopefully we can plan something where they can get together for a little while.
I don't understand why they wouldn't do it at 8:00. Maybe the lady I talked was wrong. That would be nice. If anyone else checks let me know if you get a different answer. One of my DDs has asthma, and morning are our 'prime' park times before it gets to hot (and we have to head back to the resort for some air conditioning and swimming to wait out the afternoon). So I would hate to give up prime park time to go to breakfast.
I sent you a PM with our email address. If Tori would like to email my Michelle, maybe they could talk a bit and get to know each other before June. She did that with a girl on our last cruise, and it worked great because they were already 'friends' before they met.
well definitely out for me on GG....especially since you need park admission.
still interested in Tony's though...hope it really is at 8:00 am and not9:00 am...
penny,,
need to know how you want to handle balance for Dessert party...
if you want to shred my other two checks for AC and AK dinner, that would be fine and then I would send you balance for Illuminations Dessert party
just let me know
Penny,
Don't worry about checking on the Epcot entrance for the buffet without using a park day for us. We have decided to make Saturday our park day. We won't be going to the GG Safari Dinner thing now that we know we need park admission. We are sticking with our original plan to just go to the parks on Saturday.
If the breakfast at Tony's starts at 8:00 instead of 9:00, we would be interested. Otherwise, that is out for us too.
For the Illuminations Buffet, you can apply the deposit I sent for the AC club, but the deposit for the AK Safari would be more than what we need to pay for the Illuminations Buffet, so shred the AK safari check and let me know how much you need for the balance (or you could send me a check for the difference--which ever way works for you).
Well, glad we got that settled. Now I need to figure out our PSs and what new restaurants we want to try out on this trip.
Thanks again Penny!
Actually, our resort reservations are going to sound crazy to the rest of you, but one of our 'goals' is to check out the many different resorts. Keeping that in mind (before deciding we are crazy), here is where we are staying:
6/16 CBR
6/17 CBR
6/18 BWV (we liked the idea of walking back from Epcot to our room)
6/19 OKW (we want to check out the studio)
6/20 Vero Beach
So this trip is as much about checking out the various resorts as going to WDW.
We are also trying out Chef Mickey's for the first time and I am considering going to Boma's on Sunday night as a substitute for the AK dinner.
After this trip, we will still have SSR, CSR, YC, CR, GF and the FW Cabins to try.
I know, I know, we are nuts. DH will be glad when we have tried them all and can just stay in one spot. :)
Your sch doesnt look all that crazy to me then again we usually hop around a lot on ours. In June we will just be at OKW (though I waitlisted BWV). However in Oct we will be there Oct 21-30 so far our resort list is this:
Oct 21-23 Open--Probably Pop
Oct 23-26 OKW (we are waitlisted these nights for a ded 2 queen at BCV)
Oct 26-28 BCV
Oct 28-30 Hard Rock Hotel
Have you stayed at Hard Rock before? We are thinking of trying Universal sometime and I would want to stay there. We have never been there.
Yes, resort hopping if part of the fun! As long as we pack light so it isn't so hard to move around, it isn't so bad.
Yes this will be our second HRH stay and we have also stayed at the Royal Pacific Resort twice. Our family trips always include a couple of nights at Univeral. FOTL really cant be beat, just show your room key and its like a Fastpass for every ride. Their resorts are very nice and all right on par with Disney Deluxe resorts.
Since the CM I talked with yesterday said the Tony's breakfast is at 9:00 for everyone, and that isn't a good time for us (because we don't want to lose park time), I called to see fo the Crystal Palace still had seats.
They Do!!!
We got a 8:05 reservation for Saturday, June 18th. Just thought I would mention it in case anyone else liked getting in to the parks early for breakfast. We did this in December and it was SO nice just walking over to the first ride of the day (Stitch) without any lines!
Also, for 10 and 11 year olds, the price for this breakfast is still at the kids' price (the Tony's one has 10 and 11 year old as adults).
If we find out Tony's is really at 8:00, we might consider moving to it because we have never done it, but this is a good back up and it sounds like there are still some early seating available as of today.
DJ
BTW: There are pictures of the new Cinderella Show at MK up on the allears.net website. The sign with the show times looks like the first show will be at 10:40, so for those of you who do decide to go to Tony's breakfast, you will still have time to make it to the first show if you are interested. Here is a link to the pictures:
http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/mk/cinder2.htm
The picture of the sign with the times is at the lower part of the page in the second group of pictures.
Sorry, you are right, it is the 18th. That is when my reservation is. I have a reservation for another breakfast at AKL on the 19th and I got the dates mixed up in my head (but not when I called and I have them right on paper).
Thanks for pointing that out.
We are going to be 'rushing' around on Saturday trying to get in the 'new' stuff (as much as we can). We are going to MK first to catch the Cinderella show in the morning, then head over to MGM to see the car stunt show, then end up at Epcot hoping to get a fast pass to Soarin (we have done this at Disneyland in California, but we want to do this one too). We hope to make it through all of this by time for the Illuminations buffet. So on Saturday, you may see us 'rushing' by on our way to this or that---3 parks in 1 day!
If you are coming in late on Saturday, are you going to make it to the Illuminations Buffet?
The GG Tony's Breakfast was offered on Saturday, it isn't available every day, so some people were considering that for Saturday morning. I don't think it is available on Sunday morning.
Yes our flight leaves Houston at 12:35 and arrives at 3:50 so we will just drop off our luggage at our resort then head over to Epcot. I wish they would go ahead and release June park hours so we could make a loose itinerary.
Mays hours were released on March 1st, so I am HOPING on Friday we have June hours (we will see, but plan to check on that day).
We got CP for 8:05 a.m. Saturday 6/18 too!!!
Great! Maybe the girls can meet each other there! I thought you were going to wait for Tony's? Well this way you will be out in the park before the crowds!
We did this (Crystal Palace) in December, and even DH (who doesn't like character meals) said that it was worth it to get into the park early like that!
DJ
I feel the same way you do - If Tony's turns out to be 8 a.m. - we'll do that instead. We do like CP and when I saw your post, I called Disney Dining! I thought you had a good idea about getting into the park early!
I was told to make sure we have our PS # with us since we'll need it to get in as the park isn't open yet!!! (We did CRT in December before the park opened and it was the neatest thing - walking down an almost deserted Main Street!!)
HRH is the best!!!!
I suggest you do it after you tour the world though. My kids & me as well got awful used to the fotl access. They rode the hulk twice even before I finished my coffee.
I took ressies for CP on Sunday 6/19 8:05 - we are doing Lecellier for lunch on the 18th so going for saturday would be too much food too soon..
hope you guys have fun!
and I am happy you are going to so many resorts. I love to try them all as well. Still on my list is GF,CS,CBR, AS AND YC...DID BC but guess YC is different..
and oh yes have done dolphin, but still need to try swan..
now...that should be good for at least 3-4 more disney trips don't you think?
Penny,
Do we have a Grand Gatherings number yet? I know the information you sent said that there would not be a Wishes Cruise on Friday, but I was hoping that maybe in June they would add some more of these. We would love to do the Wishes cruise on Friday night, but I assume you need the Grand Gatherings number to try to book something like this.
Thanks!
DJ
