Here is some info in reguards to the "Cruise on May 16th"

I know some of you have read on this and other boards about a Pin Cruise. I got this dispatch from DCL (through another source)


Pin enthusiasts who sail on the 5/16/02 Disney Wonder 3 Night Sailing have
the opportunity to purchase a limited edition pin that will be designed
specifically for this cruise. Note: The pin details will be released
during the voyage. There are some travel agents that are promoting this
sailing as a cruise in which a limited edition pin would be available.
However, guests do not have to sail within a group or book through a travel
agency to partake in the activities onboard the ship. The travel agents are
simply providing the opportunity to have their clients' book through their
agency. Any activities planned are open to all DCL guests sailing on the 3
Night cruise. Guests should check their Personal Navigator for exact times
and locations.
 
I am sooo excited -- we are going. There was a post on here from Pintrader about the cruise, but I can't seem to find it. It had some great information in it about the cruise. Maybe she can post that information on this thread. Anyway I booked today and it sounds great!

Are you saying that if we book onto that ship we can still do the pin stuff with the ones who book through the agency that is running it?
I have my DVC points and can use them. That would save me some cash for pins.
Or if I find a bargain price through Disney Club I can book with them? Let us know. Thanks for the news. Peggie
 
The cruise line is going to release this pin and any event that the "CRUISE LINE" puts on will be open to all passaengers. If the travel agent who is offereing has a private party that is up to them. DCL is not sponsering this and if you call themn they will tell you this. They are just releasing a LE pin during this cruise. SO if you want to go and can find a better deal for your buck then so be it.

I want to say that DCL is putting out this pin for everyone on the cruise... Not for any person or group of people. You do not have to book through a certain agent to get the LE pin. Please call DCL before you do anything and verify any and all facts.

We are thinking of going as well... Could be fun.
 

I would love to go on this cruise but cannot find out if they will have interpreters for the cruise.
 
What type of interpreters? For hearing impaired? You may want to go to the DIS Cruise board and they can let you know.
 
For the deaf and hard of hearing. We don't call ourselves hearing impaired.
 
...and she said that i opened a can of worms there (at dcl). apparently, dcl wasn't ready to announce the cruise...the travel agent pintrader spoke of jumped the gun a bit. anyway, per my dcl friend...there will be a special pin plus other pin-related activities on the ship. they will be open to anyone on the ship that cruise. you do not have to book through dana to be eligible to buy the pin or attend the dcl events.

from what i understand, dana is planning separate activities on this cruise in which only those who book through that travel agency will be eligible to participate. my dcl friend suggested asking dana what specifically they have planned to determine if you want to book through that agency or use points or go with another agency or book through dcl directly. in the overall scheme of things, the advantage may not be great enough to offset the cost if you can use your dvc points, for instance.

i really want to go, but my dh is being a stick in the mud. i'm still working on him, though!
 
and I have no idea why I feel as if a representative of the DIs has publicly
corrected me and humiliated me and tarnished my character, but I do. I DID say that there wasa pin for the cruise. I DID say that it was a DisneyCruiseLine function. I DID say that the cocktail party was given by the agency I booked through. I feel as if everything I said was true and accurate. I have no idea what I did to get some people to work so hard to either try to slam me or the agency I used to book through. I NEVER said DISers couldn't use any agency they wanted to and I NEVER said that the pin would only be for people who booked where I did. I simply shared the information of finding a great deal as we all do whether it is $29 hotel room or $4.00 pins at a cheap pin internet site. There was no need or warrant to delete my post and replace it with the info in reguards to the "Cruise on May 16th"

I have NEVER considered myself to be a troublemaker or an instigator, (but then the genuine instigators sometimes don't either). I was told that my earlier post was deleted due to my putting an email link to an employee of another travel agency. I had never read that that was against any rule. Later, It was explained to me the link was construed to be an "ADVERTISEMENT" for the other agency.

For this, I apologize to Pete. I did not think to disable the Automatically parse URLs option at the bottom of the the send option as I was not intending to make an actual link. This was a genuine oversight. But in my opinion the moderator should have just broken the link, rather than delete my entire post.

I have always avoided this board and any others when all the rhetoric starts. And I realize some may perceive me as starting it this time, but in my own defense I really do feel as if the moderator who felt the need to correct" my thread is the one who started it. I have requested that someone contact me personally that represents the DIS and I shall wait to see if that happens. So far I have been pm's by a webmaster that told me that deletion of posts are not up for discussion is I am paraphrasing his pm to me correctly. This indicates to me that the police are left to police themselves which is ok if any other the other moderators had known about this "issue" and had concurred on how to handle it.

Call me paranoid but I consider the quote below to be offensive. and could be misconstrued that I mislead someone about something or my information is not in some way reliable in a quote that is no longer visible for others to see. I feel that removing my post and then posting the thread about misrepresentations made in my post are damaging to my character and credibility.

Just for the record how does this moderator know how "some travel agents are promoting this cruise" ???

How do I know this? I got this info from DCL. I was asking if it was a pin cruise and was told it is not and is not being promoted as a Disney Pin Cruise. The rest of the my post is a fax from DCL. I posted this information due to questions I was getting about the cruise.

Sorry for any misunderstanding Kath. I would never attack you or your character and credibility. As for your post I was told to remove it after talking with a Webmaster.
 
...was not aimed at you, kathryn, as you did post the information just as you said. i was offended by receiving an unsolicited email (i resent people stripping our email ids from boards such as this for their own gain) from dana. i read it several times (and just re-read it) and what struck me was the way it was worded to imply that only by booking through them could you be a part of the "Disney Wonder Pin Trading Cruise" ("Hurry! Space is limited!"). I sent a request for clarification on just who the sponsor of this "pin trading cruise" was (given dana's comment that they were the sponsor of the dizpins cruise earlier this year), and she then made it clear that it is a Disney-sponsored cruise and that by booking through her you would be eligible for extras only they will offer.

my comments were aimed at dana and her approach, not an attack on you. we've been on the cruise 3 times now and currently have two others planned. on all of them, we have booked directly with dcl (and the same reservationist). for the one we're taking over thanksgiving, we booked initially with AAA, then picked up a better deal on the dcl website, so re-booked through dcl, and then finally turned the ressie back over to AAA...all just so we can get the pin set. you should have heard the AAA rep howling with laughter! my bottom-line is that we have a relationship with dcl (and with one really wonderful reservationist there), and i was miffed at being left with the implication that only by booking through this one agency could i receive the benefits of the "pin cruise."

Our company has done several Disney Collector Cruises and
in NO way implied that we were the sponsors of this
DCL Special Voyage. The comments that go back and forth
on these boards especially from people that just comment
to comment is amazing!!!! YES we did say Hurry and book
space is limited, because YES - OUR space that we do have
blocked is LIMITED!!! If the guest did book with DCL direct or another
agency they would not be included in our extra amenities for our
guests - that is all that was mentioned and is true.

THIS CRUISE IS A DISNEY CRUISE LINE SPECIAL VOYAGE
THAT ANYONE CAN BOOK WITH ANY AGENCY OR THROUGH
DISNEY CRUISE LINE!!!! DINSEY CRUISE LINE IS
HAVING A LIMITED EDITION PIN FOR THAT SAILING. OTHER
INFORMATION FROM DISNEY CRUISE LINE WILL FOLLOW.
AS DISNEY CRUISE LINE SENDS IT OUT SO WILL WE.

Disney Collectors that have been with us for years
of all types of collecting are booking and yes posting on
the boards. They enjoy the boards and they should. But
you do have people who look for problems in anything and
if their negative remarks make them feel better, its a shame.
There has been NO negative implied and this should be
something nice. But to send posts with misinformation or imply false
information - that is WRONG!!!!

THIS IS A SPECIAL VOYAGE CRUISE FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY, LET IT BE
WITH US OR" ANY" OTHER AGENCY OR DCL DIRECT. Whatever makes you
feel comfortable. It is a HAPPY EVENT and the information is out there for
anyone and everyone to enjoy however they book.

**If ANYONE was offended or received a email that they
did not want, we apologize and PLEASE send us a request
to REMOVE you off of our collectors list and we will be
more than happy to do so. We are here to try to help only!! NO HARM ever intended ,
Our company found out very early and were given ""FULL"" permission
to let everyone know when we did, so we got it out right then and there.

There was NO jumping of ANY guns!

"BECAREFUL" Who You Listen To and get your information from
on your boards. Everyone will have their own opinions and others
will love to stir pots. But it is a Happy Event and especially in these
times should be something that is exciting to look forward to.

This is a Special Voyage from Disney Cruise Line
and not a theme cruise. There will be other non pin collecting
guests on the ship. Hopefully this will clear up any doubts in
distasteful posts or any other negative posts being
made. The information was put out there fast and you would
have thought, great for guests who got there special cabin
or certain space they wanted for the trip right away. But there
will always be someone, somewhere looking for something.......

REMEMBER this is a Special Voyage from DCL and suppose to be a ""FUN"""
experience. With all the negative things in the world right now -
Disney collectors have a Great Release. ENJOY IT and
ENJOY the cruise NO MATTER who you book through.
It's a HAPPY EVENT for everyone!!!
