Been here since Sunday Dec 13 and check out on Sunday dec 20. We are in a 1bd on the first floor.

I have to admit, I am loving our first stay here. We originally hated the room location, but has turned out to be very nice after all. Might even request this particular room in the future.

Any questions, please let me know.

Merry Christmas ...can you elaborate on your room location good and bad?:santa:

Glad you're enjoying your first VWL stay!

6 years ago today, we checked into the VWL for our very first time, and it was love, pure and simple:love:

I just booked our next trip for Nov. 2010 at VWL. Haven't stayed there since the first year the villas opened. I can't wait!

I will give out the room number when we check out, but originally we hated it because we thought it wasn't private enough. But as it turns out it is more private than some others we have seen. I will explain more when we return.

Oh I almost forgot to mention, that it was love at first stay too. We bought VWL before we ever stayed in the Villas cause we knew we loved the lodge at Christmas. While we were here, DH was convinced he wants to continue to come back here. We just put an offer to buy more pts resale so that we can have a 1bd for a week every Thanksgiving (DH has reduced vacation time with his new job, so the only chance we have is 3 days plus the two off for thanksgiving, but we figure the decorations will be up by then). Pass on some pixie dust so we can pass ROFR. It is right on the cusp.

DH lost some of his vacation days too, we're told he can buy some next year and that's what we hope to do.

So glad you're enjoying your stay and good luck with your resale purchase. The same thing happened to me when I checked into the WLV in November 2001  that happened to Bobbiwoz. And the first time I checked into a first floor room I was ready to move too but after a couple of days I really began to like having the patio and grass. It is more spacious than the enclosed balconies and so now I when we get one we go with the flow.

OP, was there a Mickey Print in your room as a gift? So far, the only people who have reported getting one at VWL were in studios, but not everyone in a studio got one. It says "A Gift Worth Framing" on the back, and is a Contemporary Mickey.

I stayed in a 2 bedroom at WLV Dec 1-4 and got the Mickey print and a Celebrate Today Mickey photo.

Love at first sight? How about love at NO sight? We bought into VWL sight unseen. But on our first trip home and one step into that lobby and we knew it was where we wanted to be!

There's nothing like rubbing Humphrey's nose for good luck and DS ALWAYS has to ring the bell!!!!!

We had a 1st floor studio once ALLLLL the way at the end; a dumpster view, really. However, we just laughed about it. I agree with the patio and grass. In fact, the family in the villa next to us came out a couple of times and played football. Thought that was neat!

Nope, no Mickey print. :(

We first stayed at WL before we bought in to DVC and I love this resort. Last Feb. just the two of us stayed there in a studio. I just wish they had a 3 bedroom suite so we could stay there when our family Disney trip comes up in Oct. I just love everything about WL except they have the smoking location too close to the intrance in the pool area so have to walk through the smoke going in/out. We just learned to hold our breath and walk a little faster...smjj

So I wanted to let everyone know the room number now that we have returned. It was 1504 a 1 bd unit on the 1st floor. At first when we got there we hated it because there is a walkway that goes right passed it and you could see bikes and people walking all day long. Not to mention, it stares right at the back side of the resort. As it turned out, the people walking by and biking by didn't bother us. You could barely see them from the living room patio, they were a little more obvious from the 1bd patio. The one thing that drove us nuts is when we were sitting on the patio and the kids were playing with the cowbell. If it was just quick hit, no big deal, it was when they would continuously hit it that it became a problem.

Otherwise, we grew to love the location.

Thanks!
And I will remember to keep the bell ringing to a min. next time.;)
